Windows 8 compatibility with Vostro 420 BIOS v1.3.0

Vostro 420
Windows 7 64-Bi
BIOS 1.3.0 (last update, version 2010)

Hello:

The Vostro 420 yourself running Windows 8 when it comes out next month?

And the Vostro 420 DEP support bios? (I read Windows 8 needs a bios with the support of the DEP)

Thank you

Hello

The Vostro 420 has not been tested by Dell with Windows 8. However if you use Windows 7 on your system it will avoid any compatibility issues.
You can also check if hardware DEP is available on your system by performing the following steps.

How to verify that hardware DEP is working in Windows:

  1. Click Start, click run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. At the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
    WMIC OS Get DataExecutionPrevention_Available
  3. If the output is "TRUE," hardware DEP is available.

After the official launch of Windows 8, pilots cannot be available on the Dell support site. However, you can always check the site of the manufacturer for the appropriate drivers. You can also consult the following link for more information on the upgrade of Windows 8. http://Dell.to/SyrDsU

I can't play Pocket tanks Deluxe on Windows 7. Jumped to the top and freeze loading screen. When I maximize and minimize the game, the game menu showed and freeze. I can't do anything on this subject. I need help.

Windows 7 compatibility is not in question, it would be the compatibility of the tanks of the pocket with all operating system you are running who would be involved.  :-)

  • Windows 7 compatibility with the old game

I used the resolution of compatibility issues in Control Panel to install my old pc game (cake mania 2) it installs and the game plays fine until I have shut down the game and try to reopen it. The convenience store said detected incompatible application.

the programmer of the game say they're working on an upgrade to it. but do not know when it will be available.

What don't get me, is why he runs very well the first time. I can even uninstall. reinstall it with the convenience store and my saved game is still there, and the game works perfectly until I got close.

    I am confused? Any ideas?

    empony

    Hi empony,

When you are working on your computer and install a new program, the installation suddenly fails. Now, you're left with a partly installed program. You try to install the program again, but you're unsuccessful. Or, maybe you have problems trying to remove an old program because the installation files are damaged.

Download and install the Windows Cleanup utility to uninstall the game completely from the computer, and then start with a new facility.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301

Once done with the uninstallation, you can install the game in Compatibility Mode and check if it works very well.

Access the link below to install the game in Compatibility Mode.

Also, make sure that you temporarily disable any Antivirus software on the computer.

Make sure that you enable the security software after the attempt.

  • Windows 10 compatibility with applications developed in LabView

We have deployed several applications developed in LabView that are running OK under Win7 and Win8.x.

Are there problems of known incompatibility with 10 Windows and applications created with "LV2012 SP1 that read data from cards NiDaq". We should warn our clients to not upgrade their operating system or should we ask them to install a specific version of the runtime OR or NiDaq libraries?

Well the development and EXE run the same runtime for code execution, and the same things like DAQmx drivers.  If you upgrade to Windows 10, and something goofy happens to the TCP stack, you call up NOR help, but they say the solution is to pass some version of LabVIEW is supported in Windows 10.  The probability of this happening is slim, but more strange things happened.

Only older games of 64-bit Windows 7 run as Links 2003 (Microsoft Golf)?

  • CH376A: Windows 10 compatibility with HP Deskjet 3050 J610a

I'm booked for the update of Windows 10 for my laptop the 29th of this month and want to know if my all in one printer will work with this update or how to get the HP fix or update and my printer cannot work with Windows 10. My laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ60 and is running Windows 7-32 bit. I need to know if there won't be an upgrade for my printer before too long if possible if I cancel the booking of Windows 10 before the 28th or it automatically updates my system for Windows 10 29.

As soon as the final version of Windows 10 is released, see the HP web site for updated drivers.

  • Windows 7 compatibility with an old photo aio 922 printer printer

Hey, just bought a new laptop with windows 7 installed and I have problems with the use of my old Dell photo AIO printer 922. I did a little research into it without success I might add. Dell support service is practically nonexistent. Anway, I think I need to install a driver for my old printer compatible with the new windows operating system.

I went to the Dell Web support and found that the only drivers they have on this printer are Windows Vista and XP.

In short, I would like to know if Dell will be unploading a new driver that will make this printer compatible with Windows 7, or if there is already a driver for windows 7 or if Dell will publish a new driver for windows 7.

If this is not the case, my options will be dark, and I'll be forced to buy a new printer.

Look forward to hearing back someone who has any suggestions.

    Phil

    Hey Rick,.

    Bravo for this buddy.

I followed the instructions you have suggested and found that they worked at a T.

But just a note to someone who has a similar problem in the future. After you download the driver from Dell, you will need the disk that you used to install the printer in the first place. Also, I found that it was better to download the 64-bit of Windows Vista installation.

I don't know if my comments will be of no help to people with a similar problem.

Once again, thank you Rick for advice.

  • Windows 7 compatibility with the Epson R280 driver

When I connect my USB Eposn R280 Printer to my Win 7, 64-bit machine it does not correctly recognize and will not install the correct driver.

When I manually select the printer driver or download it manually from Epson, it will not load and run properly.  I get a message indicating that there is an error in loading the driver.  He alos gives the possibility for a driver Epson ESC/P Standard 2.  This one, it will download successfully.

Someone familiar with why it will allow this driver must be installed, but not the specific product driver?

Where did you got the drivers?

Have you tried this site - http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=89901&prodoid=63069504&infoType=Downloads&platform=Windows

Get the driver 64-bit if you have a 64 bit OS

Have you tried to log on as an administrator to install it, or are you a right click on the setup/install file and "run as Administrator"? Try to log on as an administrator if you don't have it already.

Go ahead and install the equipment.  If you're worried, see the web site of the manufacturer to ensure that you have the latest version of the driver there (it may be newer than the driver on the CD that came with the hardware).

You won't see a lot of products these days with the Windows XP logo on them because Windows XP is no longer sold by Microsoft and the hardware vendors are focusing on Windows 7.

The list of hardware compatibility XP (or what was her last name) seems to have disappeared from microsoft.com, but the following information of theversion of Windows 7 is basically the same as it was for XP:

The "Compatible" green check icon means the manufacturer of the device or software that this product works with 64-bit or 32-bit Windows 7. Generally, you won't need to do anything to ensure compatibility, and you will see "no action is needed" below "Compatible" on the product details page. However, if a manufacturer or Publisher offers or requires additional software or a newer version, you will find a link to what you need and see the details to the right of the link. Please note that these products have not been "Compatible with Windows 7" Logo program compatibility testing In addition, consult the manufacturer or the site of the Publisher for more information.

"Compatible - Windows 7 Logo" means that this product meets requirements for compatibility with 64-bit and 32-bit Windows 7 from Microsoft. To get the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo, software and hardware must pass tests installation, performance, reliability, and security of Microsoft designed so you can be sure that these products are compatible with Windows 7.

Almost always, if the manufacturer says that its product is "compatible with" a version of Windows, it is safe to install.

Hey, Yes, I find the problem. do not install the update from the apple software. installation of apple.com it won't give you the error when downloading it on their actual location.
