Windows 7 compatibility with the old game
I used the resolution of compatibility issues in Control Panel to install my old pc game (cake mania 2) it installs and the game plays fine until I have shut down the game and try to reopen it. The convenience store said detected incompatible application.
the programmer of the game say they're working on an upgrade to it. but do not know when it will be available.
What don't get me, is why he runs very well the first time. I can even uninstall. reinstall it with the convenience store and my saved game is still there, and the game works perfectly until I got close.
I am confused? Any ideas?
empony
Hi empony,
When you are working on your computer and install a new program, the installation suddenly fails. Now, you're left with a partly installed program. You try to install the program again, but you're unsuccessful. Or, maybe you have problems trying to remove an old program because the installation files are damaged.
Download and install the Windows Cleanup utility to uninstall the game completely from the computer, and then start with a new facility.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301
Once done with the uninstallation, you can install the game in Compatibility Mode and check if it works very well.
Access the link below to install the game in Compatibility Mode.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows
Also, make sure that you temporarily disable any Antivirus software on the computer.
Make sure that you enable the security software after the attempt.

Compatibility issues with the old game - UbiSoft 'Adventures' happy Laura
Any old hardware and compatibility mode experts out there?
My daughter loved this UbiSoft program when she was little, she would like to try again for reasons of nostalgia, so I made my Christmas project to try to get it going again for her.
She seems to have very specific graphic requirements.
CD box says "Pentium 200 or faster Windows 95/98/ME ' and ' any 4MB compatible Direct 3D graphics" (* but see below for details)
I tried on a laptop 8 win in Windows 95 and Windows 98 compatibility modes and it installs and runs the game, in fact but with display serious corruption - mobile figures produce black spots on static backgrounds and quick movement scenes produce large areas of black. I tried to set all the graphics options that I don't see in the game Installer so the PC itself, but there is no change.
I have some old hardware PC lying around, so I tried first on a Windows XP faithful (Pentium 4 and NVIDIA GForce 6200 graphic) machine and the installation program is running - but not the game itself with joy
I tried to run a virtual machine of MS on this PC to emulate Win98, but it seems to imitate the graphics card - so no joy
Then I tried an AMD Semplon 3100 with VIA / S3G Unichrome PRO IGP graphics. I put in a new hard drive and put a new installation of Windows 98SP2 on it and the installer works (he asked me to reinstall Direct X - what I did with v9c) and the opening menu is displayed, but the PC crashes when I try to launch the game.
I actually still the Pentium2 PC which took place the game on a map of 3Dfx Voodoo2, but at the moment, it is completely dead so I need to find a replacement PSU before I can even try this troubleshooting. I can't trade this 3Dfx card in the machine AMD as the AGP slots are different (3.3 volts and 1.5 Volt flavors...)
Anyone got any bright ideas?

I have display problems with a game that I just downloaded. The game is Annihlation Total; the game does not appear correctly. He works for a few seconds, all the graphics turn Rainbow and I can't seem to stop. Tried to run in compatibility mode; did not work. I hope there is a solution because this is one of my favorite games...
Hi razorbladeapple,
(a) what operating system do you have? And also to indicate the version? There is currently no information on the compatibility of the game with Windows 7.You can also try to check compatibility here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Default.aspx(b) is the display horizontal bar change only whem you play the game?(c) you have installed the updated display drivers? Some devices have drivers you need to install yourself. If you download a driver that is not self-installable, follow these steps:
You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps. For more information, see: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work properly

Windows 7 compatibility with Pocket tanks game
I can't play Pocket tanks Deluxe on Windows 7. Jumped to the top and freeze loading screen. When I maximize and minimize the game, the game menu showed and freeze. I can't do anything on this subject. I need help.
Windows 7 compatibility is not in question, it would be the compatibility of the tanks of the pocket with all operating system you are running who would be involved. :-)
That said... Other people have asked:

Windows 7 compatibility with an old photo aio 922 printer printer
Hey, just bought a new laptop with windows 7 installed and I have problems with the use of my old Dell photo AIO printer 922. I did a little research into it without success I might add. Dell support service is practically nonexistent. Anway, I think I need to install a driver for my old printer compatible with the new windows operating system.
I went to the Dell Web support and found that the only drivers they have on this printer are Windows Vista and XP.
In short, I would like to know if Dell will be unploading a new driver that will make this printer compatible with Windows 7, or if there is already a driver for windows 7 or if Dell will publish a new driver for windows 7.
If this is not the case, my options will be dark, and I'll be forced to buy a new printer.
Look forward to hearing back someone who has any suggestions.
Phil
Hey Rick,.
Bravo for this buddy.
I followed the instructions you have suggested and found that they worked at a T.
But just a note to someone who has a similar problem in the future. After you download the driver from Dell, you will need the disk that you used to install the printer in the first place. Also, I found that it was better to download the 64-bit of Windows Vista installation.
I don't know if my comments will be of no help to people with a similar problem.
Once again, thank you Rick for advice.
Phil

I have a windows 7 kind of old laptop hp, recently I tried to play an old game I used to play on this laptop (bastion) and he used open. It brings me to the opening screen I click on play and it disappears, someone knows how to fix this? IM really disappointed in this topic lol I'd appreciate any help, thanks.
If this game used to run OK and now do not, it can be linked to this problem - 't-launch-on-windows-7-desktop-pc/880013f8-de9a-42b4-95e0-950aadb08a5f http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/program-doesn whatever it is, it won't take long to check.
Some older games used a system of disk protection than a later update of Microsoft off. IF this is the cause, this is you need to uninstall the update and the apparent security risk, or make up a batch file in the sense of that which is specified in the link above.

Windows 7 compatibility with the Epson R280 driver
When I connect my USB Eposn R280 Printer to my Win 7, 64-bit machine it does not correctly recognize and will not install the correct driver.
When I manually select the printer driver or download it manually from Epson, it will not load and run properly. I get a message indicating that there is an error in loading the driver. He alos gives the possibility for a driver Epson ESC/P Standard 2. This one, it will download successfully.
Someone familiar with why it will allow this driver must be installed, but not the specific product driver?
Where did you got the drivers?
Have you tried this site - http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=89901&prodoid=63069504&infoType=Downloads&platform=Windows
Get the driver 64-bit if you have a 64 bit OS
Have you tried to log on as an administrator to install it, or are you a right click on the setup/install file and "run as Administrator"? Try to log on as an administrator if you don't have it already.
If this isn't the case, please post back.

Depending on the platform, so that the game was up, there may be an available emulator that will allow you to run them. Looking for the name of the platform and "emulator" can give results. If they are DOS based games, DOSBox is an emulator like this.

Is this true, if so where can I find it? Help, please!
Hello
You think for Windows 7 XP mode.
This is how to do it on Vista.

Lenovo v580 - full screen scale - work is not in the old games
Intel HD 4000 defining "scale full screen" does not work in the old games.
http://S22.postimg.org/lg4djhww1/image.PNG
For example "heroes of might and Magic IV" (maximum resolution of the game is 1024 x 768-... system doesn't add black borders to fit screen - instead of graphics in fullscreen scaling).
For me, this option only works on the desktop.
My office is graduated in resolution 1024 x 768 (screen looks wider)- but when I start the game with the same resolution (1024 x 768), the system adds just black horizontal borders... to adapt (1366-1024) = 342 pixels horizontally.
I'm trying to re - install my graphic drivers (Intel and NVidea), but not luck.
Currently, my driver is up to date.
This is my DxDiag report:
https://drive.Google.com/file/d/0B8PlsvE7ME5NLVVKd0dRaFpVTlk/view?USP=sharing
I've found the workaround:
There are several modes of resolution of 1024 x 768 and one of them is what I need.
So I write my C program to set the correct resolution after the beginning of the game.
My plan to write the application that wants to hear it to display the windows and so undermined resolution system settings change message (for example 1024 x 768 without scale full screen)-my application will fix it (will change resolution to 1024 x 768 with full screen scale).

After my new account Microsoft a link to my original Skype account, I'm still able to sign into account newly merged with the old Skype account username and password. Of course, I am also able to connect to the account merged with the Microsoft Mail and as well password account.
My question is this, is this a planned security measure? As far as I know, support faq suggested using the Microsoft account to connect to the newly merged account. The support page is in the link given.
I thought that once the merger of Skype accounts both Microsoft, the only method to sign the merged account is using the Microsoft account only. Please enlighten me on this matter. Thank you.
This works as expected. When you link a Microsoft account with Skype account name, you should be able to connect to Skype, either by using Skype or Microsoft account name. Two connection options will lead to the same account.

My old laptop has ceased to exist. How can I get permission to install operating system on a new PC? I provided with the old laptop installation discs, but permission to install them on the new PC is denied.
original title: operating systemMy old laptop has ceased to exist. How can I get permission to install operating system on a new PC? I provided with the old laptop installation discs, but permission to install them on the new PC is denied.
If the installation provided with your Windows computer discs was preinstalled on the computer - it is OEM and cannot be moved. You can move Windows to another computer if you buy the retail version.
You can move the windows on a new computer
If it's a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on one computer at a time (and if it's a version upgrade the new Windows computer must have its own license of qualification). The previous Windows installation on your old computer must be formatted or deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation. Turning it on the second computer will automatically be in effect 'disable' the license for the first computer.
If it's an OEM license - don't. OEM licenses, including Windows preinstalled on a computer before purchase and Windows purchased separately, are related to the first computer, they are installed on and cannot be transferred to another computer. To install Windows on another computer, you will need to buy another copy.
