Windows 7 compatibility with an old photo aio 922 printer printer

Hey, just bought a new laptop with windows 7 installed and I have problems with the use of my old Dell photo AIO printer 922. I did a little research into it without success I might add. Dell support service is practically nonexistent. Anway, I think I need to install a driver for my old printer compatible with the new windows operating system.

I went to the Dell Web support and found that the only drivers they have on this printer are Windows Vista and XP.

In short, I would like to know if Dell will be unploading a new driver that will make this printer compatible with Windows 7, or if there is already a driver for windows 7 or if Dell will publish a new driver for windows 7.

If this is not the case, my options will be dark, and I'll be forced to buy a new printer.

Look forward to hearing back someone who has any suggestions.

Phil

Hey Rick,.

Bravo for this buddy.

I followed the instructions you have suggested and found that they worked at a T.

But just a note to someone who has a similar problem in the future. After you download the driver from Dell, you will need the disk that you used to install the printer in the first place. Also, I found that it was better to download the 64-bit of Windows Vista installation.

I don't know if my comments will be of no help to people with a similar problem.

Once again, thank you Rick for advice.

Phil

    Hi empony,

When you are working on your computer and install a new program, the installation suddenly fails. Now, you're left with a partly installed program. You try to install the program again, but you're unsuccessful. Or, maybe you have problems trying to remove an old program because the installation files are damaged.

Download and install the Windows Cleanup utility to uninstall the game completely from the computer, and then start with a new facility.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301

Once done with the uninstallation, you can install the game in Compatibility Mode and check if it works very well.

Access the link below to install the game in Compatibility Mode.

Also, make sure that you temporarily disable any Antivirus software on the computer.

Make sure that you enable the security software after the attempt.

  • Dell AIO 922 printer installed, windows 7 will not print to it

connected my Dell AIO 922 printer via the USB port. Windows 7 found installed the rpinter and said that he installed the drivers. It appears in the Printers window and as installed devices. When I try to print it says "the system cannot find the file specified."

I have the same problem and when I tried to download a driver for my Dell AIO 922 printer it says that this printer is not compatible with Windows 7.  Thus, it seems that we are on a printer.  This is the Web site from the list of compatible printers for Windows 7 Dell.  The AIO 922 figure on the list is not compatible.  Here is the website http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/document?c=us&cs=19&docid=721171C9910C8085E040AE0AB7E1537B&l=en&s=dhs

Also, I called Dell and they said that from now on, anyone who upgrades to Windows 7 with a printer Dell AIO 922 is out of luck and there is nothing they can do because they do not have a printer driver for Windows 7.

I have, however, found on another site... I have not yet tried or even looked at in depth, but maybe this will help. Look at the last comment.

  • Print issues with old photos scanned .jpeg prints too large & can't print in black & white

I have a bunch of old photos & scanned articles of a scanner flat of maybe 10 years ago or not.   These are all .jpeg files.

First of all, when I print on the Windows Live Photo Gallery, they are all print in color, no matter if I change my printer settings or if I go in settings in Windows Live Photo Gallery and deselect color.

Secondly, not printing in black & white, they all print out extra large and therefore do not fit on an 8 1/2 x 11 pages.  All this elements analysed in years were roughly between 3 "x 5" until maybe 8 'x 10'. "  The fact is that they don't print as I would like.

One last question, is that I have a newspaper article large .pdf format.  I printed it weeks and had no point of color above.  But I printed this on paper 11 "x 17".pdf file.  She printed on the entire page, but it was stopped at the bottom of each printed page, and I don't understand why.  Which certainly confused me.  Any suggestions?  My plan was to save the pages together to view the log what it was.  It's pages of the newspaper of 1886.

    Thank you

    Sue

    Hi Sue,

We apologize for the delay in response.

This problem occurs with the printer settings.

I wish that you run the printer Troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-printer-Troubleshooter

Note: He made sure that a printer is connected to your computer, and it checks for common issues such as whether the printer has enough paper and toner to complete printing your document.

If the problem persists, please refer to the article and check if it helps.

  • Why my Windows 8 to run my old Kodak AiO printer successfully?

It worked great for a few months then quit work partially...! I played with him and can 't get any where with him? my computer says that it ' s probably just too old and MS won ' t take it anymore... It's old but works very well over 6 years, when he was working... anyone have a solution for this? I'm all ears

    Hello

Are you sure that your computer has not upgraded to version 8.1?

Unless you have disabled the Windows updates, he has probably done automatically...

This caused all my computers\printers stop working...

If you still have 'COMPUTER' on your desktop, it's win 8...

If you have a 'THISPC', is winning 8.1...

You have two options... Try your CD... which is what I use for an old Lexmark printer...

Or go to Kodak and see if they have something available for Win 8\8.1...

With my Lexmark, wouldn't a normal uninstall\reinstall... He'll just say 'Already installed', or would try to install a 2nd printer...

Here's what I had to do and may be necessary with a driver Win 8...

    (1) turn on and connect your printer... This must be done of this once so he could appear in devices and printers... Otherwise, all I get with my machine is the Lexmark fax, and therefore, you can't "remove" the printer.

    (2) once the printer is visible in devices and printers, physically pick up...

    (3) ' REMOVE' the printer Lexmark and Lexmark Fax (if you have one) in devices and printers.

    (4) to stop the print spooler in the Panel "Services"... Administration tools... Services

    (5) uninstall the software\drivers... Doing this, I had two safety messages popup Windows Firewall to printer communication 'allowing '... I selected "allow."

I then found with two printers in the printer preferences...

I started and not the area 'Shared' on the first message... Only one printer this time...

    (6) at the Lexmark uninstall, Reboot prompt.

    (7) after the reboot, STOP the spooler to print again.

    (8) reinstall software\drivers... I used XP SP3 and Vista, the various attempts, and both worked Compatibility Mode... Connect the printer to the top when you are prompted by Setup.

    (9) unhook the printer again and restart. Bidirectional support should be enabled, and the setting does not stick if the printer is hooked... You must restart to clear the air before the next step.

    (10) to restart and two-way supported. To do this, go to devices and printers and select "Printer properties", and then on the "PORTS" tab The box is near the bottom.

    (11) set the preferences of the printer you are using, if no and it's ready to go.

Windows 7 compatibility is not in question, it would be the compatibility of the tanks of the pocket with all operating system you are running who would be involved.  :-)

Suggestions - idea short of dumping in the trash (setting fire to him or by running a truck, ect...) to clean this thing would be GREATLY appreciated...

The best thing you can do with a used computer that gave you is to access the recovery partition and reinstall the default unit. Most of the laptops brand will have a reserved recovery Partition built into the main HARD disk that can be used to restore the computer to right-of-factory default. Usually activated by touching a certain key during the boot process or by using the software provided by the computer manufacturer.

Dell uses Ctrl + F11 at the Dell logo screen to initiate the restore process. HP uses a program in Windows 7, called Manager of recovery. Your system may vary depending on the manufacturer.

Don't forget to get all documents (including images) and any other personal information that you want to keep. Several key software product can be recovered with the Belarc Advisor before the restore, but you will need to locate the diskettes (CD/DVD, ISOs or exe) installation for each piece of software.
  • Windows 8 compatibility with Vostro 420 BIOS v1.3.0

    Vostro 420
    Windows 7 64-Bi
BIOS 1.3.0 (last update, version 2010)

    Hello:

The Vostro 420 yourself running Windows 8 when it comes out next month?

And the Vostro 420 DEP support bios? (I read Windows 8 needs a bios with the support of the DEP)

    Thank you

    Hello

The Vostro 420 has not been tested by Dell with Windows 8. However if you use Windows 7 on your system it will avoid any compatibility issues.
You can also check if hardware DEP is available on your system by performing the following steps.

How to verify that hardware DEP is working in Windows:

    1. Click Start, click run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. At the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
      WMIC OS Get DataExecutionPrevention_Available
    3. If the output is "TRUE," hardware DEP is available.

After the official launch of Windows 8, pilots cannot be available on the Dell support site. However, you can always check the site of the manufacturer for the appropriate drivers. You can also consult the following link for more information on the upgrade of Windows 8. http://Dell.to/SyrDsU

We have deployed several applications developed in LabView that are running OK under Win7 and Win8.x.

Are there problems of known incompatibility with 10 Windows and applications created with "LV2012 SP1 that read data from cards NiDaq". We should warn our clients to not upgrade their operating system or should we ask them to install a specific version of the runtime OR or NiDaq libraries?

Well the development and EXE run the same runtime for code execution, and the same things like DAQmx drivers.  If you upgrade to Windows 10, and something goofy happens to the TCP stack, you call up NOR help, but they say the solution is to pass some version of LabVIEW is supported in Windows 10.  The probability of this happening is slim, but more strange things happened.
