Windows 8 continues to change my power randomly plan options

Windows 8 continues to change my options of power plan randomly (i.e. when to turn off display/go sleep). They will remain the same to slightly toward the bottom power cycles and then will change randomly to never sleep/turn off the display.

Use Procmon.exe

  • Can I change the server port, but Windows Mail continues to change at 25

I can get my outgoing mail working by changing the port from 25 to 587, but whenever I close the Windows Mail application and re-open it, it comes back to port 25 (and will not work). Thanks for the help!

You should always back up when you use a Microsoft product.  Your hard drive may die too.  But deleting the e-mail account does not delete messages, and repair the database will not ruin it.  I have not had one person complaining about this program (WMUtil) except for one person who said their antivirus software falsely reported that the file is infected (it was not).

  • Windows 7 continues to change my keyboard for a layout in French

As I use Word, Outlook etc my keyboard suddenly will go to a French layout, so, for example, I can not type "?", instead, I have to insert the symbol.  I found a Fix - it for Vista, but I'm afraid to run it.

I have Windows 7 64-bit, my computer is a brand new Dell Studio XPS 9100 and the keyboard is the standard provided by Dell

    Thank you!

    Mark

You do not have your settings regional French value you? You can check this in the Control Panel, clock, language and region, region and language, then the administration tab and check that there no French listed anywhere.

I often use the Japanese locale for some games, and that brings up a toolbar at the top for a Japanese keyboard, whenever I change.

    Hope that helps!

  • Windows 7 continues to change my time!

And which is screwed to the top of my watch and record TV.  It is very annoying.

I saw the problem with Vista (even if the laptop with Vista my husband never does) and the only answer is about changing the boot time and have to do with the BIOS.

Well, my Dell with Windows 7 will change time even when it is turned on and I checked the BIOS.  The BIOS is the right time.  When I noticed this tonight (there not save survivor), Win7 says it's 03:00.  It was at 21:15.  I shut down the computer and check the BIOS: 21:15.

I even put this update automatically every 4 hours. How did get to 03:00?

There will be a fix for this problem in Win7?  I tried to disable automatic synchronization, changing servers.  And for awhile, it remained solid but then again changed!

Windows 7 there maybe a bad UTC offset setting?  It is perhaps timing hurt because of this.  Check your zone time and (less obvious) your regional settings in Control Panel.

  • Windows 10 continues to change user account controls

Why windows done 10. change user account controls, it's extremely annoying. Whenever I reboot it disables it, which blocks all applications. Why he won't stay where I leave it?

While I can only say that malware has installed a utility that removes the UAC setting when Windows loading [in the hope that you don't notice the change, and that malicious software can therefore go further by installing other malware without bringing a challenge Admin dialog box].  This problem was reported some time ago and finally diagnosed as a symptom of malware - see Windows 7 UAC (user access control) is disabled on every reboot

In addition to a full scan with your antivirus installed utility, download and run a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware free [MBAM].  It is much more difficult for malware to hide its presence of two scanners different antimalware.  MBAM can exist alongside other anti-malware utilities, so it won't be a problem.

Of course, it could be an anomaly in the system instead, but it's not that I've seen reported in this forum before.  Windows has no integrated procedure that changes the setting of the UAC, so it is difficult to envisage any procedure through to cause this symptom.

Please specify the operating system you are using and use blue change control under your question of re - categorize it as a matter of Windows if necessary 10.

    Good luck

  • Windows 8 continues to change the time on my clock

I love my clock is five minutes fast so that I don't run late for anything, but every time I put the fast clock of five minutes, the computer must be able to deliver to the when I re boot. I DON'T want the computer to update the time automatically, but I can't find the settings to change anywhere!

    Jessica

You really need to update the time.  If you have not things break as networking and it may even think that your copy of victory 8 is not authentic.

You can stop it updating the time under date & time > time Internet > change settings > uncheck synchronize with internet time.

    Hello

Time of the Pavilion dv7 - 4078ca Notebook PC operating Windows 8, continues to change at random and contradictory.

    Hey JKhashram,

Unfortunately, you cannot exclude a CMOS battery for bad/failure on a question like that until replace you it in fact. The good news however, is that they are very inexpensive and easy to replace.

Here is a link to the manual for instructions on replacing the battery CMOS/RTC.

  • Windows 8 time continues to change at random

    Hi all

I hope someone can help me with the problems I'm having with my laptop. It's brand new, running Windows 8. Everything works well except the clock. The time continues to change and I'm unable to synchronize with the time Internet. Whenever I try to sync, I get the error message "the peer is not resolved."
I haven't noticed any particular model for how time continues to change, except that if I turn off and turn on again hours later, time has not moved at all of what it was when I turned it off.
I have searched and tried many things, including instructions in this post: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-windows_store/why-windows-store-not-able-to-connect-to-proxy/8c400732-68a1-4875-906a-cae90081dc40. I got the same error message as the user - "no time data is available."
    Any suggestions? Thank you!

  • Windows continues to change user profile folder

    Hi all

I'm facing a real headache. My computer continues to change user profiles folder every restart 2 or 3. For example, my user name is MSF\Bob. The user profile folder has been C:\Document & Settings\Bob. After a restart, Windows create a C:\Document & Settings\Bob.MSF then Bob.MSF.000 and Bob.MSF.001 folder and so on.

Someone has an idea why this is happening and how I can prevent this?

I thank very you much in advance!

    Best regards

Easy question to answer.  You simply have a corrupted profile.

When Windows detects a corrupted profile, it automatically generates a temporary with names profile as you describe.  Usually, these profiles are deleted when you connect your computer turned off, but not always.  The solution is quite simple.  You just need to recover your corrupt profile.   There are two general approaches.  One is to do a system restore to a point in time before the profile was first damaged.  The other usually involves the creation of a new user and moving profile data on to the new user (you may reset some of your settings).  To do this, choose one of the following articles and follow through:

"How to recover damaged Windows XP user profile"

"How to copy data from a corrupted to a new profile in Windows XP user profile"

"Windows XP problems if your profile is corrupted"

    JW

PS: Corrupt profiles are almost always accompanied by alteration of the disc as well.  After your recovery, perform a check disk (chkdsk) with the "/ R" or "/ F" option
