Windows 8 time continues to change at random

Hi all

I hope someone can help me with the problems I'm having with my laptop. It's brand new, running Windows 8. Everything works well except the clock. The time continues to change and I'm unable to synchronize with the time Internet. Whenever I try to sync, I get the error message "the peer is not resolved."
I haven't noticed any particular model for how time continues to change, except that if I turn off and turn on again hours later, time has not moved at all of what it was when I turned it off.
I have searched and tried many things, including instructions in this post: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-windows_store/why-windows-store-not-able-to-connect-to-proxy/8c400732-68a1-4875-906a-cae90081dc40. I got the same error message as the user - "no time data is available."
Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi Meagan,

I ask you to try the following steps and check whether the problem is resolved:

Method 1: run the automated troubleshooting and check if the problem is resolved.

    Hello

    (1) don't you make changes to your computer before the problem?

    (2) when the wallpaper and theme changes it? During hibernation?

    (3) do when you're working on an application? A third-party application could be causing the problem.

    (4) using a laptop? There are times that your laptop battery is low and the screen goes to the basic theme.

This usually occurs on laptops according to adapter connected or if your laptop runs on a battery. To save a few, it usually changes the wallpaper on your computer automatically.

If you do not want to change the wallpaper or themes, make sure that you have not set the time to change the wallpaper and theme or never put if you can.

  • Windows continues to change user profile folder

    Hi all

I'm facing a real headache. My computer continues to change user profiles folder every restart 2 or 3. For example, my user name is MSF\Bob. The user profile folder has been C:\Document & Settings\Bob. After a restart, Windows create a C:\Document & Settings\Bob.MSF then Bob.MSF.000 and Bob.MSF.001 folder and so on.

Someone has an idea why this is happening and how I can prevent this?

I thank very you much in advance!

    Best regards

Easy question to answer.  You simply have a corrupted profile.

When Windows detects a corrupted profile, it automatically generates a temporary with names profile as you describe.  Usually, these profiles are deleted when you connect your computer turned off, but not always.  The solution is quite simple.  You just need to recover your corrupt profile.   There are two general approaches.  One is to do a system restore to a point in time before the profile was first damaged.  The other usually involves the creation of a new user and moving profile data on to the new user (you may reset some of your settings).  To do this, choose one of the following articles and follow through:

Instead of Photoshoping & Flickr.com... Its answers & Troubleshoting!

    Hello

If it changes when you restart, then the BIOS time is incorrect or the CMOS battery is dead. You can access the BIOS on an Asus Board by pressing as soon as the system is turned on. The weather is usually on the General settings area. If it fails after reboot, then this is the indicator that the battery is dead. If this is the case, you will need to replace it, a fairly simple process. The battery is about the size of a US nickel and easily found on the motherboard. Replacements are found in many electronic, Department and hobby stores. Make sure that the system is unplugged when you remove and replace.

For information to help you understand what happens, Windows (Vista) Gets the time from the system BIOS when a system is introduced first, then uses its own mechanism, including the synchronization process, at the time. Problems with the initial time are generally attributed to the time of BIOS, while problems with the maintenance of time are generally related to a timing issue (connectivity or firewall) or a software conflict (antivirus software more often). • My asus computer continues to change time and date

My ASUS U50F/Windows 7, 64 bit version continues to change time and date. Sometimes he changes a day, sometimes is two or more days to come, but after a few months, it resets the date back to 2009. It seems that a lot of people have the same problem as me. Some suggest it is the BIOS battery, but that's not the problem. I got my computer some time in 2010, and well enough it has been the same since.

Sometimes, the problem is more common, and sometimes it goes on for a few months without at all what's happening.

Any input will be greatly appreciated, but please don't say I need to change the BIOS battery, cause it is not the problem.

  • my computer continues to change the date and time

my computer continues to change the date and time even after I set it correctly. I am running windows 7 Professional. Thank you

    Hello

    ·         Since when are you facing this problem?

    ·         Did you the latest changes on the computer before this problem?

    Method 1:

The date and time in the BIOS settings may be incorrect.

Important: Change BIOS (Basic input output system) /(CMOS) complementary metal oxide semiconductor

Settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    You can see this:

Incorrect time is displayed on 64 bit versions of Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 after upgrading on-site

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2001086

    Method 2:

I suggest you replace the CMOS battery. If you are not comfortable with that, then I suggest you to contact the manufacturer for assistance.
