Windows 8. It is slow.

I recently tried to update windows 8 to the latest version from any internet thing associated with does not load. For example: I opened the store and she takes a lot of time to load and when it does finally says unable to connect to the internet make sure you that you are connected. I am positive that I am connected to a home network quickly and reliably. It's the same with google chrome on the desktop. It will load the home page, but when I try to connect to a Web site it loads, said then cannot connect. Could someone help me please?

I just wrote an article on how track down and resolve of slowness.  Can you take a look and let me know what you think?  Link: http://cmdrkeene.com/fix-sluggish-slow-pc

  • my windows xp is very slow

    Please help me

my windows xp is very slow, when startup is also very slow, that it takes 5 to 6 minutes only to windows startup. and when you open the app also very slow. I tried to clean up using reg cleaning etc. all the product (but trial ones), disk cleanup and defragmentation. I don't know what to do anymore.

    Please help me

I suggest that you tell us more about your system and then do a few scans for malware and fix performance issues.

It makes no sense to try to resolve a performance problem on the system without knowing anything about it or who might have an infection on this subject.

I suggest you stop "try" things too and if you can tell us the names of the cleaner and other products that you have already tried that would be good to know (so we do not suggest that you already have).

When we have a known starting point, then begin to fix things (don't try things).

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Fill in the blank: my system worked well until: _.

Please provide additional information on your system:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click on OK and when the system info summary appears, click on Edition, select all, copy, and then paste the information here.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.

Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans by operating clean, then to solve any problems.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

  • window on moniter is slow to respond

window on moniter is slow to respond and sometimes blocks with another window when I close a low, minimize or maximize

Try to replace the monitor with a you know the work and see if you have the same problem.  Check the monitor on another computer and see if the other computer is now facing the same problem.  This will tell us if it's the monitor or the computer.

You can get in trouble with your device drivers, firmware and/or software. Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get drivers (and you need to do for the monitor and the video card at least and all you have time to do - they can help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows:http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

I hope this helps.  Keep me in the loop.

  • C55D-A-149 - Windows 8.1 desperately SLOW satellite

Hi, I have been asked to Toshiba USA this post here because my laptop is a European model.

I recently received this laptop, if it is still new and so is the installation.

The laptop is TOSHIBA SATELLITE C55D-A-149. I realize that it is a budget laptop and processor is quite low. But still, it came pre-installed with Windows 8.1 and as much as I know Windows 8.1 is not optimized for laptops / tablets slow but mine is a very bad performance.

Startup is slow, file manager is slow, reducing a window takes to always and so forth.

To determine where the problem is that I ran a cross-platform of reference on my machine, which is on Windows and on linux Ubuntu. I used a live CD to run Linux without installing it. The reference tool used was Geekbench3: http://www.primatelabs.com/geekbench/

The benchmark results can be seen here: http://browser.primatelabs.com/user/87755

And we don't know how Windows 8.1 is trolling.

What is the reason for this poor performance?

If Windows 8.1 is really the problem would it be preferable for me to remove it and install Windows 7? But I don't want to lose my authentic copy of 8.1 because it is what guarantees the next Windows 10 free update. Is it possible to partition the hard drive and does not lose the recovery partition?

    What are my options now

Well, the Satellite C55D-A-149 was equipped with the fast processor 1 GHz AMD Essentials E1-2100

This processor does not provide the best performance... so its necessary to change the system to obtain an appropriate return for laptop.
First first of al I recommend you clean the system using the CCleaner. Its freeware software and it allows you to clean the registry, as well as to remove "garbage" and the files stored time.

In addition, you could disable some background processes and tasks that are not really necessary...
I think this should help you to get the system working well.

With regard to the installation of Win 7:

If you want, you can install Win 7... the new installation of the OS can be useful, but all additional software would not be installed automatically, you can choose between the unique utilities...

I have a problem with the copy operations in windows 8.1 slow file.

When I try to copy large files (cca. 50 GB) transfer rate is less than 10 MB/s instead of more than 60 MB/s.

The laptop has 8 GB of RAM, 500 GB HDD with the cache in flash memory (8 GB I think) and windows pro 8.1.

    Do you have any advice?

    Thank you!

  • Slow APEVIA CYBERPOWER, 4-core, Windows 7 Home premium-slow two start and several popups asking me to change the settings

I followed all the directions to Norton Support staff, but windows won't let me access the 'C:\Users\Chris>chkdsk.  My machine is slow and several companies have informed me serious problems.  (In the black box) of "Start - Search says chkdsk " access denied because you don't have enough privileges. " You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode.  I used the system and Defragmenter tools.  The "USER ACCOUNT" of my control panel lists ' Chris as administrator, still will not allow me access!  Neither I nor Tech Norton can understand this one.  CAN ANYONE?

My problem is that now I'm quite cash and poor credit and I can not find a freeware without scanner is not a costly record for the fix.  Now I wonder if they still exist.  Can someone help an old man handicapped with nothing in his life to do than to play Flight Simulator-X.

I bought a computer from them 4 years ago and my experience was not very good.  I had to replace the motherboard and power supply and while I was there I replaced the RAM sticks because they were not compatible with the jury as well the only thing original is the case, and the microphone on the front panel is not working still I have not tried yet the helmet.

I don't know what the problem with your machine, but it is possible that it is hardware or software partners. I suggest that you post in the forums there is someone out there can help you out. If your machine is still under warranty I contact them or take it to a reputable repairshop. Just to let you know I was really sick and I couldn't return my machine within a period of one month return policy, and they told me to come any time to get my computer fixed.
I rode it five times and was always a problem. The only solution was to fix it myself.
  • Windows / Microsoft Updates very slow

We run a SBS2003 SP2 server 4 GB which controls DCHP etc, we get very slow downloads of Microsoft updates, it does not matter if the operating system is XP or 7, updates can take days to download.  I tried Cat 5 / wireless.  If I take a home machine updates work fine.  I changed the DNS on the server at the present time, it is using a public DNS, but it made no difference.

  • Windows XP is very slow

My Windows XP SP3 is very slow. It freezes often. This has happened since a year now. I tried the following:

    • System restore

    • Defrag C:

    • Last good known Configuration

Can someone help me please? Thank you.

You said that it always happens with a clean boot, so the question is probably related to hardware and not software.  In this case, it's probably broken memory or some other hardware fault.
