Windows 8 / pen tablet incompatibility

I just Photoshop CS3 on Windows 7, which worked completely fine with my graphics tablet (Bosto Kingtee 19MA), until CS6 8.1 Win on a new computer.

The problem is: the pen works in literally every single application on this system again except Photoshop CS6 (not no joke, it even works in the games). I'm fairly certain that there is a compatibility issue with a pen driver in Photoshop which is predominant standard Windows Pen Tablet driver. And I wanted to know how to disable the Photoshop pen driver and force it to use the standard Windows driver.

Now for more details:
-Update the pen tablet driver is not an option. Bosto seems not intent to release another driver for this model tablet and the existing driver mostly uses resources already in windows for settings, calibration and etc...

-The behavior of the pen in Photoshop differs systematically the behaviors described in the windows settings (and behaviors in other windows applications), that's why I don't know that this problem is related to a setting any configuration of Photoshop.

-The cursor follows the pen on the screen, but does not properly respond to contact or the functioning of the button secondary click on the pen in single window of Photoshop. I tried this with a separate mouse disconnected and also plugged in and there is no change in behavior.

What I did:
-Reinstalled the driver tablet pen with the most recent (dated May 2013)

-Restart the computer
-Check the windows Tablet and pen settings.

-Verify that these settings are ignored by Photoshop

-I'm avoiding currently reinstalling Photoshop because it has just been installed. The pilot pen was installed before Photoshop and reinstalled after. There is no change in functionality.
-J' tried to update to Photoshop, but it is the statement that the servers are down.
-Partners: I have Photoshop manually not blocked firewall of Windows - and there was no change.

So I wonder if there is an update or a fix that allows Photoshop to use the standard pen driver Windows (even at the cost of resolution/pressure angle), a config file I can change to another driver, or is there something else I can try.

PROBLEM SOLVED:

For others who may encounter this problem:
Here are the steps that I found worked:

1 search C:\ for 'wintab32.dll', it is a Wacom driver provided with windows (I thought it was the Windows Standard pen driver, , but it's not!). You need to delete the .dll file for the tablet of 19MA Bosto Kingtee working in Photoshop CS6 in Windows 8 or 8.1.
Also: There are two instances of this file in windows! Don't forget to remove only that of Wow64, not the one in the System32 directory. (I use a 64 bit OS, and I won't make any assumptions about this situation in a 32-bit environment).
2. run the driver Installer TouchPanel Bosto once again, this replaces the Wintab driver... apparently somehow...
3. manually install the following updates for CS6: (do not use the Application Manager, it does not seem to catch these updates (on my system at least))
(From the bottom with 13.0.1.1 and back in order by date)

Adobe Photoshop 13.0.1.3 for CS6 update 26.2 MB 07/11/2013
Adobe Photoshop 13.0.1.2 for CS6 update 26.1 MB 03/06/2013
Update dynamic link Media Server 1.0.1 for Windows 36.5 MB 08/10/2012
Adobe Photoshop 13.0.1.1 updated for Adobe Photoshop CS6 22.6 MB 27/09/2012

4 restart the computer after the 13.0.1.1 was updated by the query of the dialog box.

5. after the 13.0.1.3 update is installed, the tablet of Bosto should work in Photoshop and 8.1 to win!

Important note:

Brush the sensitivity of pressure-controlled size does not work particularly well, HOWEVER the pen entry appears enough fairly functional for applications such line of work and basic functions tap-equivalent-to-left-mouse-click (which is all I need to do anyway). There may be some other parameters relating to gradients of pressure, but at this point, I'm just glad to have this tool to return entry!

    Thank you

    > I tried to reinstall the driver of pen for this but it did not help, it seams to work ok for my collogue who has the same laptop and docking station.

If colleague using the same notebook and the same docking station and if the problem is not using this combination of material, so I guess that the problem is related to the software installed.
Maybe it s not a pen software, but maybe that's a problem with the entire system or 3rd pary software...

In your case, I recommend you test the operation of pen tablet again after that the laptop was recovered with the Toshiba recovery disc.
Don t install any 3rd party software before you check this!

  • Download windows 7 for Tablet

I want to download windows 7 on my Asus - TF300T transformer tablet... is it possible and if yes where can I find the link... When I travel I use my Tablet and find that working on docs in windows is sometimes a problem for me.

It is a tablet based on Android, it cannot run Windows, you will need to purchase a tablet which comes pre-installed with Windows, if you need this OS.

    Windows does not on your tablet. Windows 7 requires a tablet with a x 86 - x 64 processor.

  • X 230 software of Windows 8 pen writing tablet

    Hello
I'm going to the Tablet from Lenovo X 230 and it came with Windows 7 pre-installed and everything worked very well. Then after you have installed Windows 8 Pro on the Tablet, everything works fine except that the pen writing software is gone. I can use the stylus to move without any problem. I can open it, close and do a right-click with a pen, but can't use it to write. I installed the necessary drivers for the pen and installed the ThinkVantage update software on the Lenovo support site and ran the update to get the latest drivers and software but no luck. I can calibrate the pen without problem.
Any ideas where I can get the handwriting for this software. ?

    Thank you

Moderator edit: BONES has added to the object.

    Hi, hmandi01

In Windows 8, transcript of text writing is normally a "keyboard", if you want, you have to select. When you are on the desktop of your computer, is there an icon on the taskbar keyboard? If it is not visible in portable mode, then see if it is in tablet mode. If this icon, click it. This should bring up the soft keyboard. On this keyboard, the key down-right should be another icon on the keyboard. Select this icon, then select the pen option third option). This should change the touch keyboard with a keyboard of transcription.

Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

  • X 61 Tablet with Windows 8 - no tablet function

Hi I've just updated an old laptop with Windows 8 (Microsoft has a great offer at the moment = it's only a great offer if it works ;-)))
The PC is a: Lenovo ThinkPad X 61 7767 tablet.

But I have problems with the tablet interface. Windows 8 has been designed for tablets...
With Virgin installation, the interface of the Tablet does not react.
The Tablet is located in Device Manager:

    + Human Interface devices
    Compatible device HDI (3 lines)
    Wacom Penable Dual Touch

All control programs are in place, the calibration program can be opened, but there is no response from the Tablet (stylus or touch). I looked on the support site of lenovo and downloaded different drivers, most with no effect, others caused screen blue windows - which, in windows 8 is more greenish blue.

I also installed Wacom.eu ISD_DualTouch_710-9, giving the most positive result.
Both pen and touch works (without double contact), but is not aligned (when it is in a corner, the pointer is 2cm from the corner x and y. Center of the screen is aligned)
I can't calibrate, pen or touch. Tabcal running (from Control Panel or from the command line) gives 4 windows popup with error messages:

    (1) moduels to enumerate installed digitizer devices.
    (2) no suitable material was found to calibrate. \nWindows supports calibrating only integrated digitizers.
    (3) invalid display has been specified.

Device Manager lists the tablet in the work:

    + Human Interface devices
    HID-compliant device
    Wacom device

I tried to find a file with the calibration; I found an ISDTablet.xml, which looked good, but editing has no effect and the restart will reset to the original value. (The file has a section of calibration with the coordinates of 4 points)

Secondary, can't do the buttons on the tablet to work (Ctrl-Alt-Delete, Rotate, Toolbox, Esc and slider knob).

Any ideas are greatly apreciated ;-)

  • Using Oh H610 Pro Photoshop CC, no pressure of the pen tablet, please help!

I use a graphics tablet Oh H610 Pro in Photoshop CC and I have no pen pressure.  I did a ton of linking research to understand this.  Most of what I find is related to Wacom products.  I found an article on creating a doc text with a few commands on which allows the RTS, but that did nothing for me.

    System information:

    Adobe Photoshop Version: 2014.2.1 20141014.r.257, 2014/10 / 14:23:59:59 CL 987299 x 64

FYI, I had the same problem with my new h610Pro Oh in Photoshop CC and it turns out the solution is just to check the box "TabletPC support" in the current driver Oh. Apparently, it is a thing with Wacom as well (although the specific language can be different), and has something to do with Photoshop requiring the entry of an item related to the Tablet PC of Windows 8/8.1 features. I don't know about all this, so I'm probably play technical details, but since the solution is so simple, has to do with how Photoshop works with Microsoft and is a common option in 'real' same Tablet drivers from the manufacturer, I thought you should know that for future reference. BTW, in the future responses regarding the lack of pressure sensitivity in Photoshop, you should probably also mention the fact that pressure can be turned on/off by the modifier options at the top of the screen and in the brush dialog, and that this should be verified before dismiss you it as a driver problem.

Oh, and remember h610Pro works very well now that that's settled!

    See you soon,.

    Hello

May I ask where did you download the driver?
It seems that the driver is not supported or is not compatible.
Code 10 means-> device could not start.
You simply need to use the driver from the Toshiba page and click on update driver to update the drivers for this device.

  • Satellite U400-137; Tablet PC Pen - Tablet PC

Is it possible to use a Tablet PC stylus on the display screen (13.3 "Toshiba true Brite (r) WXGA TFT high brightness) of my Satellite U400-137. I have a few SW pre-loaded for Tablet PC (I ignore if it was provided with Windows Vista or some other free SW provided by Toshiba with my notebook).
In the event that it is impossible to use the stylus on the screen exist some external display / display by Toshiba to connect to my laptop, which coul support Tablet PC SW?

    Hello gian-marco-del-felice,

Unfortunately, I think that this is not possible because touchscreens still have an extra layer of digitizer screen inside as Akuma wrote. So in other words, they have a completely normal view without touch screen compatibility.

If there is a compatible touchscreen, an authorized service provider can order it for you. So, you should ask the guy if there is such a compatible screen available.
