Windows 8 Preview Release upgrade - is OEM or full retail?

I know that if I buy the Windows 8 Pro Upgrade (I'm a student), I can install it on my computer when I installed the Windows 8 Preview release (it says here "to install Windows 8 Pro, you must run Windows XP SP3... [or] Windows 8 consumer Preview"). My question is, lights that upgrade of the CC (or preview output so that we're on the subject) full version of Windows in an OEM license or a commercial license?

I guess the question comes down to whether the key Microsoft gave everyone for CP and RP versions is an OEM key or a commercial key complete. And if it makes a difference, I do not at all if I have to migrate all my data or reinstall all my apps or whatever.

I'll actually for Windows 8.1 Overview and update, but I tell myself that it should / will be managed as above, given that the 8.1 is only an update... I'll use the key on this page (scroll down a bit), if this can help. Maybe there's a way to check if a key is full of retail or OEM?

It will be a retail license.

If you use the OEM System Builder License, you can only do a clean install.

All commercial versions of Windows 8 are updated, then of course, it would be a retail license.

The key to Windows 8.1 is a pre-release version of Windows. There is no guarantee that will be a product qualifying for the final.

  • How to return to Windows 8 Preview Release to Windows 7?

I have a Lenovo Ideapad that can factory stocked with Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit, so I don't have the original dvd to replace my Windows 8 Preview version. Their must be a way for me to format and do a clean install of my original Windows 7, right? I have a series of DVDs that I created to boot from in case of a problem, although I'm not sure that these backups will contain the Windows 7 operating system. The worst part is that my Western Digital external hard drive is not recognized by Windows 8 Preview Release, so frustrating. Help, please

    1. call Lenovo, ask a Disks. The recovery set charge for all is small and it's money well spent.
At the same time, ask to speak to a technician. Ask technology to teach you how to use the recovery discs.
This method does not require you to enter the product key.

    2. an alternative is to re - install your Windows 7 running by downloading Windows 7 iso, burn it to a bootable DVD with software like Imgburn.
If you choose this method, you must have your Win 7 Home OEM product key.

There is that a single legitimate source to download Win 7 ISO.  It is Digital River which is supported and recognized by Microsoft.

  • How can I remove Windows 8 Preview Release and reinstall Windows Vista?

I had accidentally Windows 8 Preview Release.  I need to go back to my old screen.

I've been using Windows Vista. This afternoon, after that my grandson was at the computer, I found that I was in a consumer Preview 8 Win.  I need Vista in my program.

    Hello

    You need to reinstall Vista.

Vista not a program;  It is an operating system that supports the delivery of programs.

Windows 8 is a later tested Windows operating system.

Here are the various ways to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery discs, if you have never received a recovery disk when you purchased your computer, or you're made recovery disk...

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

Installation of Windows 8 could destroy this option of relocation:

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

    See you soon.

    DesperateDan,

You're the list correctly. Please remember that this document communicates that drivers are coming as windows 8 debut, not what is now available.

Because windows 8 is still in a preview version, you will have a few problems with whatever you try to use the current drivers. Make sense?

  • My Windows 7 does not open after installation of Windows 8 Preview Release

I have a laptop HP Pavilion g6 2004 TX. I had WIndows 7 Home Basic Edition.

I created a 23 GB partition on my hard drive and installed WIndows 8 Preview Release on that by starting to dvd.

WIndows 8 works fine. It gives me the option to choose between windows 7 and Windows 8 at boot.

When I choose windows 7, HP recovery manager opens and asks me to restore the OS to a previous restore point.

If I allow it, he does and asks to restart. After the restart, yet once he asks me to choose between Windows 7 and 8 to start. If 7 selected even once, the HP Recovery Manager does the same thing again.

I can't open Windows 7 now. What should I do? Should I start Windows 7 recovery discs? He'll do anything for Windows 8? Need help as soon as POSSIBLE. Thanks in advance.

    Hello:

The recovery disks will reinstall W7, but will remove, create new partitions (primary and recovery), and format the drive.

This means that your existing installation of W8 is cleared, as well as your current installation of W7 and the recovery partition.

I would recommend if you want to keep windows 8, just wait until the license expires and recover your PC to its original state by using discs of recovery at this time.

  • I get a message that my system will not load Windows 8 Preview Release. Why?

My computer is a Dell... It has 2.40 Ghz processor and 1 Gig of Ram... But it tells me my computer will not load Windows 8... Why?

    Can anyone explain that?

Yes, your CPU or the motherboard doesn't have the ability to run hardware D.E.P., so there is no chance of running the Preview Release of 8-all somehow.

There is the possibility to set the nx or xd bit in the bios and the cpu to support it as well.

TBC: Run CPU - Z and say please use the exact model (details) of the processor, it says you have.

  • Windows 8 Preview Release network drivers?

I installed Windows 8 Preview 32 bit version in VMWare Workstation 8.0.2 build 591240 and I can't seem to load the network driver.  It says tools vmware isn't available, but I mounted the windows.iso from the VMWare folder and installed anyway.  Still no network.  I tried to go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\Drivers\vmxnet3 and he claims, there is no drivers there.

Is there a way to test this version of Windows 8 with network support?

  • Problem re-installing VISTA after the removal of Windows 8 Preview Release, all I get is a black screen with a message "Not found operating system"

I recently tried Win 8 on my VAIO laptop spare parts on which I ran Vista, after having previously deleted all the files and documents (I don't use often the laptop). Having concluded that Win8 will really work correctly with a touch screen (and the display size was bad as well), I uninstalled WIN 8, understand that I have to re - install Vista from my rescue disks. This I tried successfully a few months previously to make a clean reinstall. However, after removing 8 WIN via the Control Panel, I can't re - install Vista now. All I get is a black screen with a message "The operating system not found" and the rescue disks do not register. What can I do? I like Vista (although I now run Win 7 on my PC) and really want to put it back. Grateful for the advice.

Well I finally fixed it by tweaking the BOOT BIOS settings and find something along the lines of VAIO Setup. I'm afraid, I just don't remember exactly what I did, but suddenly I found and ran 'VAIO Hardware Diagnostics' gave me a heart when it announced "no error was detected on the Vaio. Then I saw there was an entry for 'VAIO Recovery Utility - Recovery Wizard' and everything started to load. Since the 2 recovery discs I had. Finally, I ran MS Office and Small Business CD-ROM and now everything is back the way that it used to be. Here I had taken more note of how I got to the well Recovery Wizard. I hope that I never have to do it again!

  • Transfer, copy of your upgrade to windows 7 during the upgrade of your computer.

Hi, I'm just upgrading my computer (upgrade everything except for the cases and GPU) and was wondering what would be the case with tranfering windows 7. On my current computer (upgraded) I've upgraded to windows 7 from XP is about 2 years. So my question is I would be able to transfer my copy upgrade windows 7 to the new computer?

You can transfer the upgrade license. Is the Windows XP OEM or full retail version license? To use the Windows 7 upgrade on a new motherboard, must be a qualifying previous base license. If the Windows XP license you were previously using is an OEM license, you can not transfer it to the new motherboard.

  • Windows 8 Preview/Photoshop CS6 version license number

I bought and installed Photoshop CS6 on Windows Consumer Preview and it worked perfectly. I then installed Windows 8 Preview Release. It was a clean install. I didn't know, I had to disable Photoshop before the clean install. Installed without a problem. Now, when I try and run CS6 he says that the license has expired. I've done all over the web and Adobe support told me to do, but always the same question. Other than this article says: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-licensing-product-expired-cs4.html support Adobe is not interested in helping.

    Can anyone help?

What I did was to download the demo version of CS6 and deleted any reference to Photoshop CS6 out of my registry. It worked well and I just registered then the trial version and bingo! Seems to be fixed.

  • NVIDIA driver cannot find compatible in Windows 8 RTM material, while it worked fine in Preview Release

I just installed the RTM 90 days trial and tried to install the driver Nvidia Windows 8 for my PC (HP Touchsmart 610-1190f), during the installation, I get the following error: "cannot find compatible devices. This driver worked in the Preview Release, but now, it doesn't seem to work. There will be a fix soon via Windows update?

    Hi Godwinium,

Support for Windows 8 is not available in this community until October 26. We will make the best effort to provide support.

Drivers are created by the manufacturer of the product. You can check with Nvidia for more information on when or if a compatible driver will be available for support of Windows 8.
