Windows 8 Pro upgrade on Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro XE700T1C-A01IN

Hola,

Got ATIV Samsung Smart PC Pro XE700T1C-A01IN

Here is the configuration of the system:

Edition of Windows: Windows 8 single language
Manufacturer: Samsung Electronics
Processor: Intel Core i5-3317U CPU @ 1.7 GHz 1.70 GHz
Installation of memory (RAM): 4.00 GB (3.89 GB usable)
System type: 64-bit, x 64 processor operating system

Hard disk: 128 GB
Pen and touch: pen and complete Windows Touch support with 10 Points of contact

I want to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro because I am a .NET developer and I have Visual Studio Ultimate 2012 and SQL Server installed 2012. Also, I had MS-Office and Norton 360 installed. I was only 35 GB left.

I'm working on the Windows Phone 8 App development requiring Hyper-V.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the upgrade to Windows Pro 8 given that it is a Tablet and also, this Windows Blue is on the cards.

Should I switch to Windows 8 Pro or not?

Thank you

First of all, Windows 8.1 (blue) will be a free update for users of Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro.

There isn't really any disadvantages of the upgrade to Pro, just additional benefits;

-Hyper-V client

-Remote Desktop

-BitLocker Drive encryption

-Network backup

You can check the suggestions and check them below.

    a. If you have the file ISO in Windows 8 , you can create a bootable disk or bootable flash drive.

    b. Click to open the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool installation file.

    c. When you are prompted to either save the file to disk or run it, choose run.

    d.       follow the steps in the installation dialog boxes. You will be able to specify where to install the

    Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool.

See the following suggestions to use the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool.

    a. Double click, open the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool shortcut created on the desktop.

    c. select USB DEVICE to create a copy on a USB flash drive or select DVD disc to create a copy on a DVD disc.

    d. If you copy the file to a USB flash drive, select your USB device in the drop-down list, and then click BEGIN COPYING. If you copy the file to a DVD, click BEGIN BURNING.

    e. when your ISO of Windows 8 file is copied to your chosen media, try to boot from it and check.

You can read the steps below to start your computer from the bootable device (DVD/Flash Player).

    b. go to the Boot Device priority, select the CD/DVD drive / Flash drive as first boot device (use the arrows to change the priority of the unit), press F10, select Yes to save the settings.

    c. now restart your computer, check to see if you can boot from the boot device.

facts: I always say / connected the keyboard as requested only when the tablet was turned off. I've updated to last 8 version latetly victory (I didn't work before or after)

someone can help me or has had the same problem?

    many greetings

    Hey there,

Thanks for all the tips and tricks - in the end I discovered on my own:

It seems that there are two kinds of adjustment: the windows ones like the Samsung ones. Not like WiFi, where they are connected and power applications light / each other, those for touch are not.

I accidentally turned off the touch in settings of Samsung (which were hidden in single applications, not visible at first glance that I have disabled the 'Samsung Quick Starter') and I only checked the windows ones, which were very good.

But maybe it helps other people!

    See you soon

    Hello

I use Samsung ATIV XE700T and win 8.
    Happens to me too after I uninstalled the current Wacom driver (7.1.0 - 8-Win8) then install (7.0.9 - 5 - Win 7).
Then why I have installed Win 7 driver if I win 8 as an operating system?
Well, my pen was not working on Adobe Flash Professional (worked nowhere else). So after that I installed the Win 7 driver it started working on perfect Flash too.
I don't know if you've already discovered but if you plug a usb device, finger touch works for awhile, then again stops working. And the same thing happens when you plug the device you plugged in.
As I am an Illustrator with the stylus on the Flash for drawing is a priority for me so I did re-install the driver for Win8 again.
    Solution:

    1. go to "Control Panel-> programs" and uninstall the driver current (ISD Tablet).
    2. restart your computer.
    3. download and install this driver.
    4 restart your computer.

    You're done!
    Kind regards

  • Upgrade the hardware of Dell XPS (L521x) how to perform a clean reinstall of Windows 10 Pro

    Hello

I searched on the internet with the question that I have before doing the upgrade and the re-installation of windows. But the messages and solutions are all scattered. I really want to clear this for me once and for all if possible.

First of all, the material that I bought for this upgrade:

1 Samsung 850 EVO mSATA SSD 120 GB (to replace the one 32 GB (factory default)

2 western Digital Black 750Go Performance Mobile HDD (7200 RPM, 2.5 inches)

    3 Intel (r) Dual Band Wireless - AC 7260 (802.11ac, 2 x 2 Wi - Fi, Bluetooth)

    4. crucial Ballistix Sport SODIMM 16 GB (2x8GB) PC3-14900 CL10 at 1.35v 204 pin memory

BTW, my Dell XPS 15 L521x has an intel core i7-3632QM and an nVIDIA GeForce GT 640 M. It also comes with 32 mSATA SSD as cache for the WDC 1 TB HARD drive.

    My goal:

1 install/reinstall Windows 10 mSATA SSD 120 GB and free 500 MB give or take for system reserved partition.

    2. use the remaining space in the C: drive.

    3. use WD Black 2.5 inch 750 GB HHD for cold storage

    4. Remove and reinstall the wireless card Intel Dual Band for a better Wi - Fi compatiability for most routers dual band out there. (Factory default, well, is not great to say the least)

    5. Remove and then install the crucial RAM (compatiable with L521x) is to upgrade memory of my laptop (maybe a little future-proof;) (D).

Before you start the upgrade, I know I have to do the following steps:

    1. update my BIOS/UEFI. (I did it)

2 clear accelerated Intel Rapid Start Technology (IRST) GUI (my laptop keeps inviting that "your system does not have any intel repaid with start technology").

    3. change Intel Smart response Technology (ISRT) to AHCI in BIOS

    4 back up my files

    5. my 10 Pro Activation of emergency Windows (how exactly? The Win10 Pro is upgraded to Windows Pro 8.1 with OEM Dell)

Now my question is what I do or what I've been missing so that what I will meet errors or problems if possible.

Also, I have heard or seen something on the OEM of Windows version. If I change the hardware, disk files or recovering backup activation does not recognize my device. Is this true? If necessary, I can buy a new version of Win10 Pro retail. But, what I really need to do, and does it perform a not-so-complicated work around?

    Thank you very much

    Dean

If you keep your motherboard you have no problem taking the other components such as SSDS.

Your system is already a Pro 10 Windows device.

Installing clean with 10 Windows installation media Pro TH2 your OEM Pro 8.1 Windows key will be automatically entered to the UEFI BIOS and Windows 10 Pro TH2 automatically reactivates when your systems online.

  • T61 (7658 03U) upgrade to Windows 7 pro

I have a (7658 03U) Chipset GM965 T71 with XP Pro SP3 installed. I need to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro. I have 3 GB of RAM, and it looks like I have a 32 bit version of XP is installed. How to move to Windows 7 pro and can install the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Pro? Ran Windows 7 Advisor, but it's not real clear on the drivers. Also thought I saw in this forum that my machine could run 8 GB of RAM. Please advise on how to migrate successfully to Windows 7 Pro. Thank you.

    Source? Try feebay.

No matter what good (Hynix, Samsung, Micron, Elpida, Mushkin) brand name 200 pin laptop RAM is PC2-6400 or PC2-5300 (which are also known as DDR2 - 800 MHz and DDR2 - 667 MHz respectively).

I have never use "no name" RAM in my ThinkPad and discourage the use of the offers 'ram value' from various manufacturers as well.

Expect to pay $130 or more for a pair for a total of 8 GB DDR2.

  • Windows 8 Pro x 64 boot Samsung SSD

    Hi all

I tried to figure this out for the last couple days. I'm at work now, but I'll try again when I get home. Here is my question-
I recently built my own computer. My pieces are-
    Motherboard ASRock Z77 Extreme 3
    Intel i5 3570 k
SAMSUNG SSD 120 GB (I think that 840 series)
Western Digital 1 TB hard drive
    Graphics EVGA Geforce GTX 660
8 GB RAM (I don't remember the brand of the stick on the top of my head)
I tried to do a clean install of Windows 8 Pro x 64 bit for the SSD. In the Setup screen, it detects two drives and I select the SSD drive and install it on the SSD. He moved very well I can say because no error message appears. But when the computer restarts and boots to the top, rises the symbol of Windows 8, the loading wheel little rises and they are there for about 2 seconds and then they disappear and the screen stays black with no mouse cursor or anything. Just a black screen and there just like that. I end up having to reboot the machine. I've done everything I can think of - I went into the BIOS and made sure the boot sequence is correct. I tried starting the SSD after restarting the machine with no result. The only difference is that when I did this and also removed the x 64 installation disc, Windows 8 comes and says that he was not able to load because it lacks a partition and so I try to troubleshoot it by performing an auto repair and diagnose the problem. When I do this, Windows says it can't auto repair. I did a reset and wiped clean car and tried again, but without any result. I get the screen that shows a partition is missing (and this happens only when I boot from the SSD with the x 64 disk drive) or I get a black screen.
Another thing I tried last night was to reformat the SSD and wipe them off, clean, disconnect the hard drive regularly so that the only smart thing was the SSD and then reinstall windows and try again, but again, nothing has changed; just black screen.
As far as I know, all my pieces are compatible with Windows 8 Pro. I'm at work at the moment, but as soon as I go home, I go back to work on that and I hope that you guys can give me some new approaches to this problem.
    Thank you all

    Hello

It would be better to install Win 8 to the SSD with the other hard drive unplugged...

Win 7 and 8 hide additional start install files on extra drives\partitions to the course. If you install with the attached HARD disk and then remove it later, windows does not start...

Generally, this can be corrected with a startup repair, but I would rather avoid it in the first place...

Format your SSD BEFORE installing Win 8. I prefer to use a 3rd party for this program...

You could get by reformat everything by doing a 'Clean' installation without future issues...

For what is the real cause of your problem, I suspect that you may need to set the SATA mode in Bios to AHCI... I got an OCZ Vertex, which would install OK and start OK after... After that win 8 detected all new material, I would get is a black screen.

Also, make sure that the SATA connector you are using is not configured for Raid...

In addition, try to remove the graphics card and install Win 8 with the HD4000 Intel. Once everything works, then add the NVidia.

I built a similar machine with a surfboard Z77 Extreme 4, and it is on this forum that I had the problem of the AHCI pop up.

  • Thunderbird impossible sendmail on mail server yahoo after upgrading to Windows 7 Pro on an ASUS BP1AD PC. Tried 31.2 24.6 configured in IMAP & Thunderbird.

After recently upgrading to Windows 7 Pro on an ASUS BP1AD PC, I can receive emails but NOT send using the yahoo mail server. I am set up to use the IMAP protocol. Other e-mail servers/accounts do not have this problem. I get the error message right is an alert which States: "an error has occurred when sending mail. The mail server responded: unverified address - see http://help.yahoo.com/I/us/yahoo/mail/manage/sendfrom-07.html. Please make sure your e-mail address is correct in your mail preferences and try again"if my email in Thunderbird is good enough upward with i. sending messages. Is there something obvious that I'm missing?

did you actually check your mailing address in your web account to yahoo? That is to say had them send you a special courier to check that it actually works? Sounds stupid, but they made me do it years ago.

  • Windows 8 Pro upgrade possible for Satellite Pro C650?

Read in forums, but can't see a particular mention of my model of laptop. Short part PSC13A.

Just bought Windows 8 Pro with the intention of upgrading to Windows 7.
Anyone with this model manages to do with success?
Should I first download an update to the driver? Or install Win8 first and then update driver?

Have run the upgrade wizard and seems mostly ok apart from "your PC firmware does not support secure boot if you won't be able to use it in Windows 8.".

    That's what worry?

Thanks for any help that you can give a geek MOM. =-)

Secure boot is a new feature of UEFI firmware. UEFI replace BIOS on laptop computers that are provided with Windows 8...

Windows 8 will work on PCs that have a BIOS, you do not need UEFI / Secure Boot.

    Hello

According to the info I found on the page of Toshiba, the laptop is preinstalled with common system of 64-bit Windows 8.

If you want to upgrade this Windows 8 Pro version, you can buy the upgrade of Microsoft.

But the question is if these updates would be really necessary for you...
I dunno... This page and take a look at the details provided by Microsoft Windows 8 Pro

You can see what are the benefits of the windows 8 Pro version would provide.
Usually there is no big difference between Windows 8 and the Pro version.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300 - 2C4 "Windows 7 Professional Upgrade DVD" upgrade

We have a Satellite Pro A300 - 2C4 (bought on 23-11-09) that came with Vista Business 32-bit installed, but has been downgraded (using the provided diskette) to Windows XP due to the demands of corporate network.

When Windows 7 became available, I bought the DVD to upgrade to Windows 7 Toshiba provided so that if the company decided to upgrade to the new operating system, we could do it on this laptop.

That's what I tried recently to discover that we can't do as the DVD is for Win Vista upgrade Windows 7 Pro. What is the best way to upgrade without having to buy another drive to upgrade. I have a set of recovery disks for an another Toshiba SatellitePro A300 - 2 4 which was bought about 2 months before this one. These were created using the Toshiba recovery software before any changes have been made on the laprop. Would I be able to restore the system to its state of Windows Vista using these disks and then use the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade DVD to make the upgarde?

Suggestions or recommendations would be greatly received.

This upgrade package offered by Toshiba is upgraded from Vista to Win7. So if you want to use it, you must install Vista recovery image at first.

After that, you can upgrade pre-installed Vista to Win7 following the Toshiba s implementation instructions.
I did the same thing my Qosmio X 300.

If you cannot use created recovery disc either s order Toshiba Vista recovery disk or (perhaps the best solution) install the clean version of Win7. A300 is fully supported for Win7 and you can download all the necessary drivers and tools specific to Toshiba and utilities.
