  2. that you get any code error or error messages when you try to open the app?

  I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it works for you.

  Method 1:

  Reset the Windows Store Cache and check if the problem persists. Windows Store Cache reset will delete all unnecessary files and corrupted files of the Windows Store Cache.

  a. type in the right edge of the screen, and then click Search.
  (If you use a mouse, point to the lower right of the screen, move the mouse to the top and then click find.)

  b. enter run in the search box and then press or click run.

  c. Enter the command wsreset.exe run and then press or click OK.

  Method 2:

  Search the app Store of Windows updates and install if you find updates for Bing news app.

  Follow the steps to install the updates of the application:

  a. on the start screen, tap or click on Storeto open the WindowsStore.

  b. drag from the right edge of the screen, and then tap settings.

  If I save the wmv on my desktop it will open, so I think that the file association is OK.
