  Back to vious versions of this OS, if you have installed too many times, you could call a number where you could put your license and it would give you another code to put in and then you would be activated. I think that Win7 is doing this. Windows 8 does not work. and when I get help from Microsoft, they want the money first. Devil... I already bought this product. I don't understand... They do not want it used on more than one PC... I GET IT... I am ready to just use 14.04 Ubuntu if I can't get a good solution within a reasonable time (YES, PASSIVE aggression is my middle name today!) lol

  No, Sir, no system restore is happening... I just deleted my scores three times to put the base OS. Since I found a link that made me a cat Ms. They have been great. they ran "slui 3" that I saw didn't work, then they run MSDT and put in their code... After a reboot, Viola! I had my back activation key. Please do not ask me what does this first order of market... I forgot already... lol...

  My hard drive died so I put a new in and installed Windows on a drive, but when I have just activated and put my product key does not work. In fact, I get this day by putting in and then it says character not aloud.

  Please can someone help? All I've done is put a new hard drive in but guess that Windows detects that the product key has been used on the old, which explains why it won't work on the new. What should I do to activate the key?

  Select Start, all programs, accessories, right-click right-click command promptand click run as administrator on the menu drop-down... Type cd\ and press ENTER. Type "chkdsk c:/r" without the quotes and press ENTER. Make sure you include the spaces indicated. Enter it when asked if you want to run chkdsk on restart the computer.
