I think that Win7 is doing this. Windows 8 does not work. and when I get help from Microsoft, they want the money first. Devil... I already bought this product. I don't understand... They do not want it used on more than one PC... I GET IT...   For those who do not know - Adobe has more to AA3 activation servers. Anyone know a work around for not being able to activate AA3 more. I had to do a fresh install. Disabling activation is quite an amazing Adobe move if this is really the case

  I had some problems with an upgrade to 8.1 to win in the past...
  Finally, I managed to install the Windows 8.1 update once the laptop has been set back to factory settings.

  I'm not sure if this should be done in your case, but where the 8.1 Win update is not possible after installing all the windows updates, you should reset the PC back to factory settings. After that the upgrade should work.

His friend has installed a new operating system before selling.
