Windows backup with windows 7

In which case I'm using windows 7 backup and restore function, and let windows choose what to backup:

1. how complete is the backup when you create a system image?

2 are my windows updates also included in backups? Updates to windows are also stored in the pictures with the system and personal files and settings?

3. If I backup on the computer even after experiencing a problem; This backup is guaranteed to work?

also:

In the past, I also have a backup that does not have the fire at the time of windows XP. This particular backup gave me a mountain of files dat 1 GB, when I supported

my complete system, but would not allow me to restore from them. I hope that this effacacy has changed with windows 7; cos I'm not in the mood to buy some kind of third-party backup software to perform this function.

I hope that someone could help me or refer to the documentation where can I find the necessary information.

Thanks in advance.

1. how complete is the backup when you create a system image?
As indicated by the word 'image', that's all, including. If it wasn't then it wouldn't have a picture.

2 are my windows updates also included in backups? Updates to windows are also stored in the pictures with the system and personal files and settings?
As above.

3. If I backup on the computer even after experiencing a problem; This backup is guaranteed to work?
Do you mean "If If restore on the same computer? If so, then the answer is that it will probably work, as long as nothing was wrong and that the backup media is intact. You can improve your chances of making a test on a spare drive restore.

In the past, I also have a backup that does not have the fire at the time of windows XP. This particular backup gave me a mountain of 1 GB dat files when I backedmy a full system, but would not allow me to restore from them. I hope that this effacacy has changed with windows 7; cos I'm not in the mood to buy some kind of third-party backup software to perform this function.

A backup is not worth much unless it is tested initially and again once or twice a year. No backup tool is perfect. Solutions that are free are generally lower than those that cost money. The native Windows backup tool does not seem to Excel in terms of reliability.

    XP Home Edition can not do what you ask the subject. Your best bet is to buy a third-party program to create an IMAGE of your hard drive. I recommend you store this file archive image on an external hard drive. I happen to love Acronis True Image Home, which is good in what you give the possibility to create additional images.

  • Why backup with Xperia companion take so long? (2 days)

    Hello

    why backup with this tool takes so long. The information bar, says phone has 15 GB. After 24 hours, about half is saved. Make backups with other tools is done in less than an hour :/

    Everyone knew what goes wrong?

    Hello

    I live in France and I have the same problem with the Xperia for Windows companion software. I bought the new XA Xperia a week ago. I connected with USB on my computer, I started companion Xperia and I launched the backup point. I selected all the boxes (documents, contacts, photos, videos, music). The backup process took several hours (4 hours precisely) and stopped at about 50% without any error message. So I cancelled the process of backup at this stage.

    I tried a new backup process by selecting only 'music' backup piece (I 314 music this cost 1.3 GB on the Xperia XA) and here, it worked and the backup process took about 5 minutes and finished.

    So, there's a big problem with the companion software when all the boxes of the savepoint are checked.

    I contacted Xperia Care France and Xperia care told me this very short message: "(1) (download the software companion Xperia 2) (plug the Xperia XA your computer 3) launch of the companion software and follow instructions on the companion show...» »

    For example, to get help, I write this message on this forum for Xperia. Please help me or tell me which Android App that I can use to back up my data (contacts, documents, settings, photos, music, videos).

  • DVD how much we need for the files backup with backup and restore program?

    Hello how are you?
    DVD how much we need for the files backup with backup and restore program? Y at - it large differences in the time and space between write backups on DVD and external hard drive?

    I do not understand your question.  Asked how the space has been used on your C: drive and you answered 60 GB.  Now you say your PARTITION C: is 60 GB with only 20 GB used?  I really don't understand what you're so confused.  It's simple arithmetic grade 3rd.  What is space you USED on the C: drive, that multiply by 0.7 to obtain the amount of space will be used on your backup disk after compression.  Divide this number by 4.7 and round.  That's how many DVDs you'll need if you insist on the use of DVDs for backup.  Then

    (1) If you are using 60 GB, the answer is (60 x.7) / 4.7 = 8.936.  I rounded up to 9 and added 1 just to be sure.

    (2) If you use only 20 GB, the answer is (20 x.7) / 4.7 = 2.97 rounded up to 3.  Add 1 and get 4.

    If you use only 20 GB, I am very surprised, because almost any important installation of Windows 7 is going to take more than 20 GB.

    All of this assumes that you do NOT use the Windows backup and restore program, but one that I recommended.  When I used the windows one, the results were several times the space that I used on my C: partition.

    Good luck.

  • My 2 TB TC is full and will not back up. Yet, I have only 1 TB of data on my laptop. Note that I've reformatted the laptop since the last backup with a clean installation of El Capitan.

    My 2 TB Time Capsule is full and will not save. Yet, I have only 1 TB of data on my laptop. Note that I've reformatted the laptop since the last backup with a clean installation of El Capitan.

    I bought a 2 TB external hard and have used Time Machine to back up. But I also use my time Capsule, which I save wireless.

    Any suggestions on getting my TC back up?

    One suggestion would be to copy all existing backups that are now on the Time Capsule 2 TB hard disk. Then, clear the TC and start over again with new backups.

    A more expensive option... assuming you want to keep all old backups on the TC... would be to add a new TC and start backups goes in this direction.

    Another option... If you do not need to keep all old backups now on the TC... would be to erase the TC and start over again with new backups. The benefit of doing this would be that no new material will be necessary, but the downside would be that you lose your old backup history.

    Hello

    The connection of the RMAN catalog remains inactive during the backup/restore process, once rman completes the task and try to activate the connection it gets error.

    What is expected as you said the rebooted server. If this happens because of the expiration time, we went with the parameter net expire_time to maintain the connection.

    Thank you

  • Cold backup with online redo logs

    I'm working on 10G in AIX for a single instance
    It's just a general db backup & restore issue, but I have something confused.

    I'll take a cold backup with my database ARCHIVELOG.
    No wonder why make a backup of cold because it's a test database that can suffer from loss of data and the time during backup.
    I read some guides. They all mentioned to back up all the data files and control files.
    When restoring I copy all saved data files and control files to the default location.
    Then mount boot;
    Is the last step before opening the database recover database until cancel;
    For the acknowledgement, I do the database recovery command, because again the online newspapers were not saved, so we must recover in order to reset the redo logs.
    For my question, I would be in a position of order recovery of database, then directly the database starts, if I backed up online redo logs and copy the default location when restoring?
    However, I have read a lot of documents that mentions that it is not proposed to backup online redo logs. Is it simply the case that ONLY applied in the backup hot? Do you think all that for my case, cold backup online redo logs is recommended?

    Thank you all

    You connect through an earpiece.
    The listener becomes aware of the database when you turn it off.

    You run RMAN from the same server as the database? You need not connect through an earpiece.

  • RMAN backup with the smallest size of backup

    Oralce 11g 2 on Redhat 5. Disk space is our the tighter resource, and we want an incremental backup with Level0 Sunday and level 1 every day of the week and on Saturdays. I'm using the comamnds to do the job
    --Sunday
    backup incremental level 0 tag 'level_0' database plus archivelog;
    --Other days
    backup incremental level 1 database plus archivelog delete all input;
    I don't think that it is the best practice or produce smaller backup files.

    What are you comments and opinions. Thank you

    RMAN backup except for the backup copy will only backup blocks used, which is quite efficient. Backup incremental level 1 are set by default and the smallest of the incremental backup.

    However, you can enable compression reduce the size of the backupset (Oracle 10 g and more). You can also enable the block track the changes in the database only once, so that backup incremental level 1 do not need to analyze the data files for the changes - this allows saving a lot of time and IO.

    SQL > ALTER DATABASE ENABLE BLOCK CHANGE TRACKING;

    RMAN > run {sql 'alter system switch logfile' ;}}
    RMAN > BACKUP AS BACKUPSET INCREMENTAL LEVEL 0 COMPRESSED DATABASE MORE ARCHIVELOG DELETE ALL ENTRIES;
    RMAN > ACE COMPRESSED BACKUPSET INCREMENTAL LEVEL 1 DATA BACKUP MORE ARCHIVELOG;

    I would prefer not to delete the archivelogs after each incremental backup of level 1 in order to make a point in time recovery without the need to restore the archivelogs.

    And don't forget to:
    CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON;

    I hope this helps.

  • Getting the 80070005 error during the backup with windows vista home premium then closes backup

    When I use backup in windows I get errors then backup closes. the errors were 0x800700AA and now 0x80070005. I'm not familiar with what they mean but have tried Fixit without success.

    Hi Brian,.

    This error code means that the file or folder you want to backup does not have the necessary permissions.

    Method 1:

    If you need to make a backup of any file or folder, please ensure that give you all the permissions for that particular file or folder.

    To set the permissions of files, see the procedure below:

    a. right click on the file or folder and then click Properties.

    b. click the Security tab.

    c. under group or user names, click your name to see the permissions you have.

    d. If they don't get permission, click on change and give the full control.

    e. then check if you are able to backup.

    What are the permissions?

    Method 2: Check if you are able to backup by following these steps:

    Try to temporarily disable your anti-virus and malware during execution of the backup. If the backup works fine, then you have to search for updates and firewall settings in the security software.

    Note: Make sure that you enable the antivirus software, other security and firewall after the test programs.

    Method 3:

    Disable UAC during backup control.

    Enable or disable the User Account Control

    Note: Make sure that you enable user account control and the back of the antivirus on the computer after you complete these steps. It is not recommended to disable these settings on the computer. It's just to solve the problem.
