Windows built in functions 8.1 restores do not at all

Team; Thank you for your support in the past.

We have recently improved our environment to ESXi 5.5 and Horizon view 5.3 without a problem.  We have created a new machine virtual of Parent with 8.1 installed on it.  All our ERP and 2013 OFFICE applications work correctly.   My problem are as weather APPS, player, help, etc. of Sports that do not work.   STRANGE some applications such as PHOTOGRAPHY and the store seem to work.  We are on the 7.14.1.2021 3d sVGA display adapter and VMware view agent 5.3.0.1427931

Thinking that it was a bad Parent we have created another parent, and we had the same problem.   We tried rendering 3D, but that did not help.

Any thoughts?

Well, after working on it for a while, I found a few issues:

  1. The first problem I had was that I needed to start as a domain user to activate the METRO application.   A person of admin domain can not activate the application.  I created my image of parent entirely by using the domain administrator account and never as a user signature.  Once I have connected as a user and then recomposed, the problem with Metro applications disappeared somehow.
  2. We linked clones used in our environment and we have recomposed computers Windows 7 computers window 8.1.   The problem, I discovered, is that you can not put the clones related operating system to another with persistent records.  If you upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 you must deattach the disc.  Add the disk to a new linked clone and copy the data.

There is no clear path to upgrade VMWARE VIEW of Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 without much manual effort

Where in Windows 7 Professional to release the program is not to turn on and start any computer starts?

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
You can go to start-> click on all programs-> select start. You can find all the programs that run at startup, here. Deleting will stop them from running at startup.
You can also open the System Configuration to disable all programs running during startup. Go to start-> type msconfig.exe-> press ENTER. IF UAC prompts, click Yes. Opens the System Configuration window. Now go to the Startup tab and disable all applications (to remove the tick) you want to stop from running at startup. Click on apply and then OK. Restart the PC, once done.

I contacted Lenovo's Support in Poland and they tend to say that it's because Microsoft has cancelled my codes for unknown reason. Contact Microsoft they told me that he his provider (Lenovo) problem and they are not responsible - will I get new license key from Lenovo. Polish support Thinkpad leans on the problem since 9 January, without success.
The grace period of Windows is already over and I can't use my ultrabook now without activating the license.
What is the famous Thinkpad support quality? I already have 4 Thinkpads and sorry gyus, but I am considering length of some other providers.

When I called them, the solution provided by the support of ThinkPads was... "would you like reainstall the BONE once again for another period of grace? I thought it was some kind of joke, but it wasn't... Asking the responsibility of the Lenovo for the operating system Windows had, told me that Lenovo is not responsible and it gave me advice to buy hardware with no BONE next time, have the license of Microsoft separatelly box.

I'm really disappointed. It's my last Thinkpad I think. It seems even to have the warranty is not enoug to get the support of Lenovo - I'm on my own...

    Solved!

Finally, I have another DVD from Lenovo recovery. Now it's working. Seems that the first DVD series was disabled .

  • How to restore the Notes

I recently started to use my writing notes and jotting down ideas, but last night I was not sure if my notes would be shared with my Mac friends since I have not got one for me and his had used for synchronization and sharing of music. I decided to disable iCloud notes with a warning noting that "all the iCloud notes would be deleted, you'd like ongoing?", I read it with a change of mindset, thought I pressed 'Cancel', but instead he deleted notes. I am very sure that I didn't quite save my iphone. Is it possible to restore the notes at all?

iCloud only synchronizes the data (Notes) using your Apple ID only.

If you deselect the Notes option in System Preferences > note, used to synchronize your Notes on YOUR devices.

  • Windows Update Web site crashes and restores, impossible to get any real updates (XP Pro)

I recently had a collapse of the system that I was finally able to recover using the "Last known good Configuration" option, which seemed to take me only a few minutes after my initial installation of Windows XP.

Everything is working smooth now, except for a few hiccups as a result of there being installed yet related programs Windows and trying to work I guess XP think should not be in the State they are currently.  I was hoping that through the Windows Update process causes XP then recognize my (updated) the current versions of Windows Media Player, etc., but there is a problem.  Assuming that my logic is good, that my version of Internet Explorer is not a XP expects to interact with.  I have IE 8.  To after my "Add/Remove Programs" list IE is not yet on my system.

When I try to go to update.microsoft.com and proceed past the home page there are a lot of Flash and then clicking on and then brings back me to the same page with a small bubble in the tab bar that says "this tab has been recovered.  A problem with this webpage had to close and reopen Internet Explorer tab. »

Any ideas on how I can get past this?

    Thank you!

[The WinXP SP2 disc that came with your computer may be named System Recovery but it has nothing to do with the Windows system restore to not mix youself.]

912812 predates the availability of both IE8 and IE7 so there is no way that IE8 is installed correctly. So if KB912812 was installed on March 13, 2010, the resumption of 'Last good' known Configuration you did (on or just before March 13, 2010) actually had a repair installation.

    Reference:

How to perform a repair of Windows XP installation, if a later version of Internet Explorer is installed
       http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/917964

Translation: Since (obviously) not uninstall you IE8 before you've done the repair facility, Windows and IE are now in a situation "confusing." This explains why IE8 is not listed in Add/Remove programs and why you are missing so many updates (including security for IE8 was last updated).

Your only recourse now is to backup your personal data (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this stage) and then format the HARD drive and do a clean install of Windows.  Please note that another repair facility (upgrade AKA on-site) will not & cannot remedy!

Once installed the clean, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of everything on the next page before connecting the machine to the internet or one local network (i.e. other computers) otherwise and before using a flash drive or the SD card that is not brand new, or has not been freshly formatted:

NB: No matter what Norton or McAfee free trial which is preinstalled on the computer when you bought will be reinstalled (but invalid) when Windows is reinstalled. You MUST uninstall the trial for free and download/run the appropriate removal tool before installing updates, Service Packs Windows or IE upgrades and before installing your new anti-virus application (which will require WinXP SP3 must be installed).

If these procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, good reputation and stand-alone computer (that is, not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) repair facility.

  • Envy of HP dv7-7332ea - System Restore does not work on windows 8

    Hey there,

I recently bought this machine about a month ago. I used the Windows 8 System Restore feature to restore my pc to a previous state.

However, after running it, I got a message saying: it failed and to ensure my anti virus is disabled. Accordingly, I have disabled Norton and tried again but it still does not work.

Previously, the only problem I had with the pc was that he locked himself completely and therefore I turned off the machine that I have been unable to close.

When I rebooted, HP Support Assistant could not run and so I uninstalled and then reinstalled from website theHP. It is now resolved. The thing is I'm a little scared that something is wrong with the machine that is the reason why I think that the system restore does not work.

I'm a newbie on the computers here. Could you please give me some advice to diagnose if there is nothing wrong with my machine and fix the system restore?

    See you soon,.

    Damon

    Hi Damon,

Norton is a component called 'Tamper Protection' that should be disabled before a system restore can be performed - for more details on this topic, see the following link.

    Disable self-protection.

Whenever my computer installs the Microsoft/Windows updates I get Internet and restoring the system to return.

Cite your version of IE and the full version of Windows (for example, WinXP SP3;) Vista 64 - bit SP2; Win7 RC. Win7) during the validation in an IE specific forum or a newsgroup. Please do it in your next reply.

By "The Internet began" do you mean that you encounter errors Page can not be displayed ?

Updates have you installed just before this problem started? Have you installed an update of the third-party driver that is offered by Windows Update?

TIP: Never, EVER to use system restore to 'Cancel' an update, Service Pack, or upgrade of IE!  Instead, uninstall the update, Service Pack, or the IE patch & reboot.  If that does not resolve the problem, then try System Restore. ~ Robear Dyer (PA Bear) ~ MS MVP (that is to say, mail, security, Windows & Update Services) since 2002 ~ WARNING: MS MVPs represent or work for Microsoft

  • Impossible to install the windows update and perform the system restore

Original title: what restore systerm causing failure/Vista

Windows update fails with a few updates, tried to restore the back before I loaded the system machanic - fails

    Hello

    1. What is the description which are impossible to install updates?

    2. What is the message exact error do you get when you try to install updates?

    3. you get any error message while you perform the system restore?

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if it helps:

Method 1: Reset components from Windows Update from the link of the suite, which would help you to install the updates of windows. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

    Method 2:

If the problem persists, then try to put your computer in a clean boot state, and then try to install the update to windows.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Method 3: Manually try to install updates from the Microsoft Download Center.

    a. go to the Microsoft Download site, type the number of "KB" of the update in the download search box and then click OK.

    b. in the list of search results, click on the (KB) Knowledge Base article link to go to the download page. If there is more than one list, look for a link that goes to the Microsoft Download Center.

    c. If there are several versions on the download page, find the appropriate for your computer. Click on the download button and save the update to your desktop.

    d. When you are prompted, click open to install the update.

Method 4: You can also try to perform the system restore , safe mode and check if the same problem occurs.

Note: When the computer is in safe mode, System Restore does not restore points. Therefore, you can not undo a restoration you performed when the computer is in safe mode.

    Hope this information is useful.
