  • Windows cannot complete the installation - Toshiba NB250

    Hello

My netbook has been sitting not used and the road for about 6 months.
When I tried to use it the other week he was very slow and kept crashing so I tried to erase the unwanted programs from him but I couldn't.

The netbook kept crashing whenever I tried to uninstall programs and try to do something about this, even open internet explore took about 5 minutes, it's faster on 15, laptop of my father who has a huge 256 MB of ram in it! I gave up and decided to restore it to the factory settings. I found Toshiba HDD recovery option and follow the instructions.

The way in which the process a window pops up saying "Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation '. I clicked on OK, all in all I rebooted the machine about 6 times with the same message.

I tried to boot into safe mode and in the 5th test (previous 4 raised the same message) I "cannot start Windows.
A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To solve the problem:

    1. Insert your windows installation disc, and then restart your computer
    2. choose your language settings, and then click "Next".
    3. click on "repair your computer".
    File: \windows\system32\config\system

Now, I bought a new USB drive and booted from that. The first time it kept freezing during configure them then wouldn't start at all. The second date he kept freezing and then took more than an hour to load windows. I left it for a few days, came back to him and all I could get is a black screen with a white cursor. I now need the netbook for Monday so try again.

For tests 3 and 4 I run through gentle but end upwards with ' Window3s could not complete the configuration of the system. An attempt to take over the configuration, restart the computer. »
Been several times since both trying without success. Currently looking for a hammer...
There are now two different options for operating system on it, I tried both, but get the same answer at the same time.

Someone has an idea, what happens?
My warranty is I think (is there a way to check?
I don't remember when I bought it! It was last year or the year before) so I don't think I can get any help from anywhere.

    Hello

It is not easy to say what the problem is here. If the recovery image and HARD drive are OK, you should be able to install recovery image and use your neetbook with the factory settings.
When you've got this netbook as a new machine, I assume you didn't create recovery USB support. Can you confirm this?
    > Now, I bought a new USB drive and booted from that.
And what is recorded on this USB key?

I can't say with certainty what the problem, but now you should test original recovery image installation and see what happens. In case the same thing happen over and over again, the problem may be related to the HARD drive.

    Hello

I just realized that you cannot start to access msconfig... I'm sorry.

If you have a Setup disk, repair disk or USB flash, you may be able to access the command prompt and enter a command to disable Secure Mode...

You have a possibility to do a repair on the POST screen before Windows tries to start...

You may be able to quickly hit Ctrl + Alt + Delete at the end of the POST right to start an auto repair.

    It might take three tests...

You must get to the command prompt (.cmd)

    (1) start from the Windows 8 DVD or any other method available...

Steps 2, 3 and 4 may not be in order, depending on how you start...
    2) click Next
    (3) select repair your computer

    (4) select troubleshooting
    (5) select Advanced Options
    (6) select command prompt

This link gives instructions on what to do when you receive a command prompt...

{GUID}   refers to the "identifier" listed under a Windows boot loader that appears after entering bcdedit/c.

    Hello

You try to perform the factory restore?

We do not recommend factory restore, because by the factory restore, you will lose all the data present in the computer. Factory restore will restore your computer to factory settings.

I suggest that disconnect you all external devices except the keyboard and mouse, and then restart the computer. Leave the computer to complete the process and do not touch anything until the process is complete.

If this does not help, then it would be best to contact Acer to get help.

    Hi all

I was recently trying build a Windows 7 image for use in a high school lab.
    scenario until now:

    1.) configure WDS
2.) use DISM to add any drivers necessary for the boot.wim and install.wim file
3.) copied the files to the WDS server
4.) installed Windows 7 x 64 enterprise on computer in the lab.
(5.) to the menu screen post install (where it asks you to enter a user/computer name), I pressed Ctrl + shift + f3 to put the computer in audit mode to start putting in place a default profile.
6.) after the reboot, I get the following message:
"Windows could not complete the installation. "To install windows on this computer, restart the installation.

After reading several posts I changed the SATA mode in the bios in legacy/IDE and tried installing again with the same result.

I tried to install with a new download windows 7 directly from the DVD without integrated drivers, with the same results.

I used DBAN to completely erase the hard drive and then tried installing twice with the same result.

I tried to install it on another computer in the lab and still not received the same message.

    Hi emiquestion:

Long 'check for updates...' crashes and slow window updates are a currently a problem common to many users of Vista SP2 - please see the workaround suggested, I posted yesterday over BluesBlaster WINDOWS VISTA 32-BIT updates.

Note that it is a temporary workaround and updates slow Windows will probably return each Patch Tuesday (the second Tuesday of the month) after Microsoft also releases a new batch of updates to security for Vista SP2 and IE9.  Since September 2016 Patch Tuesday updates are published tomorrow (13-Sep-2016), it would be wise to wait a day or two to execute step-by-step instructions posted on June 16, 2016, in m #l's thread of updates does not, he has been looking for updates for hours and save yourself a bit of extra work this month.  Dalai normally updates its list of Windows kernel mode driver (Win32K.sys) implemented to date required the same evening that the Patch Tuesday, updates are published by Microsoftto the http://wu.krelay.de/en/ .

    tan7655,
If I read this correctly, you have a portable computer that do not have an operating system on it.  You try to install Vista and get the error.
You've restarted the Vista installation?  So then you get the same error? If you have tried to install more than once and continue to receive this error, check that the laptop is capable of Vista?  You may need to check with the manufacturer of the laptop to see if it is able to support Vista. • Cannot complete installation of Windows 7 OEM on Precision T3400

    Can someone help me?

I try to do a clean install on a Dell Precision T3400 with Windows 7 64 Bit OEM, but cannot complete the sequence.

It goes through the sequence of the whole installation, restart a couple of times. He gets in the beginning of the sequence as "complete installation" - contribute to what, according to me, it's the final reboot - and then crashes. I think that what should come next is the bit where to enter information first name of computer use - time, date, place - time etc. I never get that much, however.

I have not updated the BIOS. Previously Windows Vista - but the disk has been deleted - not sure if I can update the BIOS in this State.

Another thing - I swapped the graphics card. The monitor of works well during the initial installation sequence.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks a lot for reading.

The suggestion above about SATA drives didn't really solve my problem, but it got me thinking in the right direction.

Here's what I've learned about this through the answer and the answers on other forums above. It turns out be a common problem:

It is usually caused by the lack of drivers for devices that are connected to the computer. Devices can include: any type of USB device (may be same mouse or keyboard), any type of hard disk, graphics cards and other types of cards such as PCI or PCIe Firewire. If you have a SCSI card then remove it permanently.

I had a Dell keyboard with built in USB ports and a Media Player control. I swapped it for a simple vanilla ordinary keyboard.

I also already swapped the graphics card that came installed on the T3400 for an older NVidia Quadro card as a fix for compatibility with my older monitors SVGA adapter.  When I searched on the NVIDIA site, I discovered that there is no Windows 7 driver for my graphics card, so I bought a DVI - I adapter that I needed the original card and replace.

My problem turned out to be the graphics card.

On other forums I have seen people solve the problem by removing the USB devices all THE. If you have a keyboard and a USB mouse, this may seem to be a problem. However, once you have initialized the windows 7 install process you can remove the keyboard and the mouse. Whenever the computer reboots it page and warn that any input device is fixed, but after a short pause, he must continue with the installation procedure. In my case, the fancy USB keyboard was certainly a problem too. Disconnected after initialization of the installation allowed the installation of two additional steps.

I curse me Microsoft about this problem, but to be honest, I was not able to run a compatibility test of windows 7 on my computer. I bought it on ebay without an operating system. If I could perhaps it would have marked the graphics card problem and composite USB keyboard device.

Don't know if it will work, but if you can't figure out what your driver problem, you can be able to run a hardware compatibility test and periperhals by a temporary installation of Ubuntu and connect it to the Net. I had no problem to boot Ubuntu from a USB key and the connection to the network.  It works perfectly first time without any of the usual shenanigans of Microsoft. In my opinion, Ubuntu is an operating system much higher with a much nicer user experience. My only reason to stick with Microsoft's older software. It's highly unlikely that I will ever consider buying a new system from Microsoft again. They lose the pedals after XP.

    Good luck

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.
