Windows cursor is corupt

from the start of bubble said c/windows/cursor corupt unreadable. run the check disk utility. so I run, when you restart it goes straight to the office system restore won't run cuz of disk error

Hi WilliamHemze,

1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

2. are you able to boot in Windows after you receive the error message?

3. What is the full error message that you receive when trying to restore the system?

I suggest that you check to see if the problem persists in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Restart the computer to return to normal mode

If the problem does not persist in safe mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

(a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

(b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

(c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

(d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Windows Mail

    Hi rnkappel,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

To better understand the question I would like to answer a few questions.

    (a) is the problem only with Windows Mail or cursor problem in Microsoft Word or Notepad as well?

      Method 1:

Try to put the computer in a clean boot state to see if third-party applications are causing the problem.

To perform a clean boot on a computer that is running Windows Vista, follow these steps.

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

    3. under Selective startup, clear the Load Startup items check box.

    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

    5. click on OK.

    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

    7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

If your issue is resolved, follow the how to determine what is causing the problem section in KB article to narrow down the exact source.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 . In addition, see the section on how to restore your computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 2:

You can also try to use the on-line virus scanner to see for any viruses that may have infected your computer. Follow the link below to access the online Windows Live One Care scanner:

    http://OneCare.live.com/site/en-AU/default.htm?mkt=en-AU

As you said that the problem started after the update you can also try a system restore to see if fixing the problem. Follow the steps below to do a system restore.

    Method 3:

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    1. click on start to reduce this includes this image, type System Restore in the Search box, and then click System Restore in the programs list. This collapse

    Includes this image

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click continue.

    2. in the System Restore dialog box, click choose a different restore point, and then click Next.

    3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    4. click on Finish.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/936212/

     Method 4:

The problem may also be due to a corrupt user profile. You can also try to use a new Account.Follow of the user steps and the link below to create a new user account.

  • Feedback: Dynamic Pen in Windows 7, cannot turn off

All right, thank you microsoft for windows 7, it's fantastic, I love it and intend to purchase, but for now, I'm having an annoying problem on the RC.
I have a wacom tablet, there were a few driver problems at the beginning but I got all hammered, works perfectly the way I want it except for one thing. I mainly use the Tablet for drawing, not handwritting, and the dynamic responses annoys the _ out of me. In the case where you do not know what I mean, is the drop of water like effects when the pen touches and in vista, you could easily turn it off in the device stylus and input options.

    See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IE/windows-vista/Turn-visual-feedback-on-or-off-on-a-Tablet-PC

But what I thought would be an easy problem to solve with a quick google search has now been irritates me for the last few hours. So, any ideas out there? I don't care if it's a registry hack, patch or whatever, but you must be able to change it somehow, is it simply a few menu options I was dominant or missed?

    All responses appreciated, thanks.

  • Satellite A660 - 11 M: Nvidia GT330M (258.96) driver brightness control

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba laptop (model A660 - 11M) with a Nvidia GT330M and I tried to update the driver with the latest version of verde (258.96).
The installation is completed without problems, but when I restart the laptop control over brightness (via fn + f6 or f7 and the cursor in the menu windows dedicated Control Panel) disappeared.

Or rather, if I try to change the level of brightness in this two way, the cursor and the fn keys work togheter (if I push the fn + f6 buttons of the windows cursor returns but the brightness is not affected) but without effects on the brightness of the screen.
The only way that works is to adjust the brightness through Nvidia Control Panel.

Obviously with the pre-installed driver (189.16), everything works perfectly. I also tried to uninstall, clear with DriverCleaner and reinstall the new driver, but with no better result...

I hope someone could help me...

This question seems to be already discussed in this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=55182

It seems that the original driver from nVidia is not fully compatible with the FN keys, which controls the brightness
However, the Toshiba driver works as it should so it s recommended to stay with the Toshiba drivers, given that these drivers are prétestées and compatible with other applications.

In addition, pilots don t support nVidia GPU overheating protection and the use of these drivers is only at own risk
