Windows defender 0x800106ba failure to use

This will make my computer not be able to get online?

This problem can occur because another security application is used or the Windows Defender service has stopped, or components of Windows Defender are corrupt.

You install any new programs recently? Windows Defender is not designed to protect against the extent of malware. If programs like Microsoft Security Essentials or AVG 9 and Windows Defender both run, your system may experience degradation in performance and other problems caused by the conflict of two services providing real-time protection at the same time. I recommend that you keep the Defender off if another application of security protection is running. These security applications stop windows Defender from start inorder to prevent conflicts.

If no similar security application is installed, I suggest that we have follow these steps to resolve the problem:

Step 1: Check the Windows Defender service
=================================
1. click on start, in the search box, type: "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. double-click on the service "Windows Defender".
3. click on the 'general' tab. Make sure the "Startup Type" is "automatic". Click on apply. Then please click on "Start" under "Status of Service" to start the service.

If the problem is not resolved, please refer to step 2:

Step 2: Save the associated DLL files
========================
1. click on start, type "cmd" (without the quotes) in the box start the search. Right click on CMD listed above and click 'run as administrator '.

2. in the command prompt, type the following and press ENTER to each order:

regsvr32 atl.dll

regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 mssip32.dll

3. close the command prompt, and then run Windows Defender.

  • error code of windows defender 0x800106ba

I want to run... together windows security essentials and windows Defender, but this code keeps on appearing.what can I do to fix this? both can be run together?

They cannot be run together - should not (even if you can find a way to do it).  All content Windows Defender is contained in Miscosoft Security Essentials - even if you run the two together it would gain you nothing.  Think MSE is an evolved version of the Defender with more functions and features.  If they both run at the same time it could cause freezes, crashes, conflicts, corruption of files, or all kinds of other problems with your system and programs.

Do not operate together.  It is not at all necessary and could cause injury.

    I hope this helps.

Windows Defender features are included in MSE, defender of loading would be redundant.

    Windows Defender antispyware =

    MSE is antivirus + antispyware.

Then think about MSE as Windows Defender with more added (which is).

What other security programs you have running? Many as MSE, Norton, McAfee, AVG, etc., will stop Windows Defender because they have the same functionality, and having two programs running at the same time and make security the same work can lead to conflicts. This is by design and must be accepted by the user.

If you have the following AV, antivirus, programs installed, close your Windows Defender. Purpose of these AVs have their own advocates. 2 defenders on the same machine will create conflicts.
Bottom line: it's ok. It's normal.
List of AVs which will stop Windows Defender:
    Norton
    McAfee
    AVG
    Microsoft Security Essentials

If you don't have AV programs above, here's how to restart Windows Defender:

Start button > in the search box, typeServices > press the Enter key > scroll to find Windows Defender, click on it >...
topic status , it must be said... Has begun
under Startup Type, it must be said... Automatic
If it does not say that, right click on Windows Defender > click Properties >
in Startup Type, click on the pointer to the right and select automatic
to the service status, click Start
    Click OK when finished.

  • Windows Defender removed?

    Hello

Windows Defender is part of the operating system Vista and you do not uninstall and reinstall.

If, by some unknown method you used, you deleted it, you will need to do a repair installation upgrade to solve the problem:

However, I use Microsoft Security Essentials and I was told that MSE takes over and won't allow WD run. In addition, I don't see choice through MSE for add or remove programs in the taskbar. I was trying to prevent a program from appearing in my taskbar. What do I need to uninstall to get there? In addition, I want to have MSE appear on the taskbar, and it isn't currently. I guess I'm trying to disable a startup program...

Can you not a RIGHT click on the program icon that is on the taskbar > click "unpin this program from the taskbar?

  • Im trying to turn on windows Defender manually

Why slope I turn on windows Defender manually? Is it because I'm trying to ruin the basics of Microsoft Security? Any HELP would be appreciated

MSE disables Windows Defender because it contains everything in Windows Defender and run them both at the same time can cause conflicts, freezes, crashes, or other problems.  Leave Windows Defender disabled when you use MSE.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows Defender - Application not found (in Windows 7 professional OS)

    Hello

I have a computer running on Windows 7 Professional on my place of work. However, Windows Defender does not seem to work properly because it cannot be opened when searched for in the START Menu and the Windows Defender icon is not correct (please refer to the screenshot below):

Probably, I suppose that someone had deleted the Windows Defender software before I used the computer.

I would like an active Windows Defender to protect your computer. If all goes well, it can be fixed or re-install the software on the computer.

Please, can someone help me with the correct solution?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jenn

By your screenshot, it seems you have installed MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials).  The first icon beside the ORB start.  If it is enabled, the Defender must be disabled.

MSE is supposed to disable Defender when it is installed.  They should not be run at the same time.

There are a few explanations here:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/protect/Forum/MSE-protect_start/Windows-Defender-and-Microsoft-Security-Essentials/5309cb8d-02e1-40E8-974f-0dcedb9ab9fd

  • Kaspersky protection ended today, Windows Defender and firewall won't turn on.

My laptop came with a free year of protection Kaspersky and it ended today.  When I went in my security settings to see what had happened it looks like all my protection is disabled.  When I try to turn it on nothing doesn't change.  Help, please!

    Hello

You must completely uninstall Kaspersky before that Windows Defender will accept to be turned on. It will allow you to turn it on as well as the protection of Kaspersky is over, it is always installed. If it were to turn on, it would conflict with Kaspersky and you would get from the crashes and conflicts left and right.

    Kaspersky - remove http://support.Kaspersky.com/common/service.aspx?El=1464

Windows Defender (how to activate after removal)

A.Navigate ofControl Panel (with icons). You can do this by typingStart > Search > Panel. Once in the Control Panel change the drop-down menu of thecategory to large or small icons.

B.Among list icons, and then click Action Center.

C.Assuming that the deletion of your previous anti-virus software has gone well, you will notice for unexpected and spyware software (important) protection and Virus protection (important), it will have a button that says turn on now. Click on this button (no matter that, as Windows Defender is as well used in Windows 8/8.1).

    Kind regards
