Windows Defender removed?

Hello guys recently I think 1 of my programs accidentally deleted my Defender windows completely off of my computer. I don't think it's still exists. the error I get when I start windows Defender is: {26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB06...:{D8559EB9-20C0-410E-BEDA-7ED416AECC2A}, they, it says cannot find program. I am currently using windows vista 32-bit on a laptop, can it be fixed? If so someone can teach me? Thank you

Hello

Windows Defender is part of the operating system Vista and you do not uninstall and reinstall.

If, by some unknown method you used, you deleted it, you will need to do a repair installation upgrade to solve the problem:

"How to perform a repair for Vista Installation"

http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-Vista.html

But before you do that, read this information about Windows Defender:

If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.

There is nothing to worry.

Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.

If you are using one of the above AntiVirus programs, this Information from David O - Support Engineer shows you how to manually enable Windows Defender (disregard information from uninstalling; not possible in Vista):

http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_vista-security/how-do-i-manually-start-Windows-Defender-in-Vista/dab845b2-9ba5-47F3-9518-c4c6781e7d5b

"Go to start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Look for Windows Defender.

Right click and select Properties , ensure that Startup Type is automatic.

Once modified, click apply and OK.

Quit and restart your computer. Check the back take the same path to confirm that Windows Defender has started"

.

If you want to have additional protection against malware using the version FREE of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:

http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

And for now, change startup Vista programs without using Defender, use one of these methods:

"How to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista"

http://netsquirrel.com/Msconfig/msconfig_vista.html

Or the program Autoruns for FREE:

"V11.21 Autoruns for Windows"

I'm looking to speed up startup of Windows Vista.  I had used Windows Defender to disable startup programs.  It worked as described.  This time, delete, disable it and enable buttons would not activate or turn on when I chose a program to turn off.  Any suggestions?

Defender is probably not necessary with McAfee...

Both offer a real - time sweep and may potentially conflict with each other.

You should never have more than one security product installed on the PC, providing active protection / scan. This can cause performance problems, system instability and conflicts between programs and can affect all installed antivirus product efficiency.

Vista is historically a slow start... I have improved the startup of my Vista laptop with a reinstallation of the operating system, without installation of I-tunes (the computer was used by my daughter-in-law) and I added 1 GB of RAM.  It starts very well now.

McAfee is known to adversely affect the performance of the computer - I him have not used for many years.  The last time that I removed McAfee from a slow computer, that it was like the addition of several gigabytes of RAM to view was an immediate performance improvement.  If your computer has a good processor (preferably bicoeur) and several GB of RAM must be able to run Vista (and McAfee) however.

    Good luck...

No, he's not slow down your computer. Maybe he's still there, but it
is not running. AVG, it turns off because it is duplicate that AVG made.

and personally I don't like Vista... and just discovered another reason why? So, since I'm NOT under the "Vista" operating system anymore and am running Windows 7, I would like to program Windows Defender removed.

With two versions of Windows, AVG will shut down Defender and the only
advantage of the deletion, it would be to save a small Mount of disk space.
And as a part of Windows, you cannot delete it.

  • Win32/CompromisedCert.C alert Windows Defender. What is c?

Hello everyone. I am quite illiterate on the problems of the computer. In general, I try to be a quite safe surfing on the internet and avoid visiting dangerous websites. But today, surprise, I received a Windows Defender on Win32/CompromisedCert.C alert and WinDefender identifies as "potentially unwanted software". Anyway, I just clicked on delete and everything seems fine now.

When I click on details in Windows Defender, the following sentences appear as items associated with this problem:

    file:C:\Program Dell Foundation Services\Dell.Foundation.Agent.Plugins.eDell.dll
    file:C:\Program Dell Foundation Services\Dell.Foundation.eDell.Common.dll
    file:C:\Program Dell Foundation Services\Dell.Foundation.eDell.Configuration.dll

I really want to know if this "potentially dangerous software" took place because of something I have (like visiting a Web site that contains malicious software) or if this problem occurred because of a problem with Dell software. You have an idea? Thanks in advance.

Don't worry, there is nothing that you did.

Indeed, the problem is related to the Dell software.   As you discovered, Microsoft scanners detect and remove vulnerable certificates from the certificate store root, as well as the affected binaries that could re - install the vulnerable certificate:

    http://www.ZDNet.com/article/Windows-Defender-removes-potentially-dangerous-Dell-certificate/

Dell acknowledged and explained the issue here: http://en.community.dell.com/dell-blogs/direct2dell/b/direct2dell/archive/2015/11/23/response-to-concerns-regarding-edellroot-certificate

read this information on the Defender:

    ·                         If you use microsoft security essentials avg avira mcafee norton etc they disable the vista version of windows defender by default

the basics of Microsoft security has its own version of windows defender

and other anti-virus programs use their own particular type of application to scan for spyware and malware

  • Difference between software malicious removal tool and Windows Defender

What is the difference between the difference between software malware removal tool and Windows Defender?

Windows Defender is a program that you install on your computer.  It runs automatically and continuously, prevention of new infections of spyware and the removal of the 'old'.

Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool is not installed and does not work automatically.  You can run it manually to remove specific malicious software it is seeking.

    Hello

    ·         You have Microsoft Security Essentials on your computer?

If you have windows installed on your computer security essentials, then you will not be able to install Windows defender. Windows Security Essentials has antispyware component installed.

You get the error because you have installed MS Security Essentials, which has its own function to antimalware. You don't need or want to install Windows Defender, too. Leave MS Security Essentials installed and do not turn it off.

  • How to remove Windows Defender from Vista?

Anyone know how to remove Windows Defender? It is not on the list of programs that can be uninstalled. When I try to remove it from the tree, I get a message that only a "TrustedInstaller" can remove it.

It's been nothing but trouble I got my new PC in August. I spent in Avast and MalwareBytes, but I can't stop the system to get scans in tenacious Defender. I wanted to get rid of it because it will not update install. It keeps telling me that there are updates available, but the progress bar comes in with a small piece of the execution and the stalls.

Updates Windows continues to tell me it is another Defender update available and also stops at install.

Looks like Microsoft could do a better job of coordinating its products. I'm ready to throw the new computer and become a ludites.

    Help!

I uninstall Norton before that I installed Avast. I went to 'Services' and 'arrested' Defender. Then I went to 'Properties' and 'Disabled' Defender. This should at least stop notifications. You can't repeat to you, I got it.

  • Windows Defender stop working after the malicious software removal tool

I ran windows software and after this removal tool, my windows Defender stopped working says its turned off, but when I try to turn it on nothing happens

This problem can occur because another security application is used or the Windows Defender service has stopped, or components of Windows Defender are corrupt.

You install any new programs recently? Windows Defender is not designed to protect against the extent of malware. If programs like Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender both run, your system may experience degradation in performance and other problems caused by the conflict of two services providing real-time protection at the same time. I recommend that you keep the Defender off if another application of security protection is running.

If no similar security application is installed, I suggest that we have follow these steps to resolve the problem:

Step 1: Check the Windows Defender service
    =================================
    1. click on start, in the search box, type: "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. double-click on the service "Windows Defender".
    3. click on the 'general' tab. Make sure the "Startup Type" is "automatic". Then please click on "Start" under "Status of Service" to start the service.

If the problem is not resolved, please refer to step 2:

Step 2: Save the associated DLL files
    ========================
    1. click on start, type "cmd" (without the quotes) in the box start the search. Right click on CMD listed above and click 'run as administrator '.

    2. in the command prompt, type the following and press ENTER to each order:

    regsvr32 atl.dll

    regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll
    regsvr32 softpub.dll
    regsvr32 mssip32.dll

    3. close the command prompt, and then run Windows Defender.

If the problem persists, please after return.
