Windows Defender is enough or do I need a paid version of a third-party Antivirus?

Hello.
I have a pre installed McAfee Internet Security on my windows pc 8. But I intend to uninstall other software like Norton or Bitdefender in Exchange.
But I heard that Windows Defender is also a great tool, it's free. Is Windows Defender enough to be my anti-virus program permanent? or what other av programs I could use instead?

Thank you! : D

Windows Defender is very good for general anti-virus protection, you will read that it does not give the overall protection as well as some paid versions IE: Norton, Kaspersky, McAfee, etc.

Personally, I used only WD for several years and have had no infection, I also got Malwarebytes installed, and I run occasionally, just to check. (Currently running on 6 PCs & Laptops)

WD is designed for Microsoft Windows, and updates of the virus definitions are issued almost daily, which takes a few seconds to install.

    Hello

    1. which parameter is used to install Panda antivirus?

2 did you use typical or custom?

If you use Panda IS 2012 as an anti-virus, then Windows Security Center may have disabled the native Windows Firewall, that does send a real-time alert. You can try shooting the alert and check.

Is there a message outside an error code?
Is it possible that the message said you that Windows Defender does not work?
If so, maybe the following could explain why:

If you have the following AV, antivirus, programs installed, close your Windows Defender. Purpose of these AVs have their own advocates. 2 defenders on the same machine will create conflicts.
Bottom line: it's ok. It's normal.
List of AVs which will stop Windows Defender:

    Norton
    McAfee
    AVG
    Microsoft Security Essentials

If the above does not apply to you, here's a way to restart Windows Defender:

Start button > in the search box, type Services > press the Enter key > scroll to find Windows Defender, click on it >...
topic status , it must be said... Has begun
under Startup Type, it must be said... Automatic
If it does not say that, right click on Windows Defender > click Properties > in the new window, make the necessary changes, as above > click OK when finished.

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with everything I threw at them.
Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven very reliable and compatible.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except away from Standard, Web and network is working.

    Prevx - Home - free

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
