Windows does not read sd card

My SD card is the my camera, but when I put it in my laptop windows is not read.  What can I do to solve this problem.

It reads any of my sd cards I got.   I have a kodak. don't know if I can bc I can't find my power cord

==================================
If you insert the SD card into the computer card reader and
Reach... Start / computer... you should see a few removable
Discs that represent the slots on your multicard reader.

If you click on the left that corresponds to your SD card
You should be able to see the files on the card and copy.
Paste or drag and drop in a folder on your hard drive.

    Hi Laurie,

    ·         Have you tried to connect the card reader on different USB ports on your computer?

We will check if the following is useful.

Method 1: Try to connect the flash drive to different USB ports on the computer and check if it helps.

    Method 2:

Step 1: Try to reinstall the USB controllers and check if it helps.

    a. click the Start button and then right click on my computer. Click on properties.

    b. click on the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager. Expand the Bus USB controllers section by clicking on the sign «+»

    c. each of the devices under the USB controller section uninstall by right-clicking on each one, then click on uninstall.

    d. close Device Manager, and then restart your computer. Windows XP re - automatically installs the USB controllers in your computer, so you don't have to do anything further. Your computer is now running properly USB devices.

Step 2: Log on to the manufacturer's Web site and update the latest chipset drivers and other updates to the device driver.

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

  • SD card reader does not read SD cards

Hey, its me again. Yesterday, I tried the card reader built into the laptop yesterday, and to my disappointment, it simply does not work. I push the card, and after that I heard the click, it sits in the slot of how it is supposed to. The light turns on for about a second, then turns off immediately. I tried on Windows 7 64-bit and Windows xp 64-bit and neither one, said despite the good drivers and all.

Any ideas, or was it just bad design, like the rest of the machine?

The laptop makes a sound (as when you connect a device), but not autoplay. When I go to start / computer, I see not all removable

It fail to read a map, or a LOT of cards?  Have you tried stopping and restarting the computer?  Remember that the reader will not be displayed in my computer, unless there is a card in there - an empty card reader usually does not appear.  Also be sure that you do not put a SD - HC (high capacity) card in a drive that cannot read - no longer former readers.

I have a SD card that I used in my Verizon chocolate.  Pocket Tunes read it initially when I put it in the Centro, but now it does not work.  What gives?

I figured it out by reading another email from this site: go to PocketTunes - menu - actions - manage playlists - new.  Name of the playlist or come back later and name.  Click Add song - top right of screen you should see all - click on it and you should see the internal memory or card without a name.  Click on the map without name - Audio - Music - and THERE ILS ARE ALL!  Good luck.

  • C55D-A-12N satellite can not read SD cards

I got my Satellite for only a few months, and he was happily read the 8 GB SD card and then stopped.
I bought a new 16 gb SD card, and it will not read either.

I had cause to take the laptop to the factory settings and had a broken hard drive replaced.
It does not read the card. I looked in the Device Manager, and he told me that the drivers are installed...

    . Can someone help please?

    Hello

There's a reason simply why the SD card isn't recognized properly: the SD card isn't compatible.
The Satellite C55D-A-12N card reader takes in charge the rest of media:

8 MB to 2 GB SD
SDHC 4 GB to 32 GB
    64 GB SDXC
Mini 8 MB to 2 GB SD through adapter
Micro SD 8 MB to 2 GB via adapter
Any other MMC 4 MB more than 2 GB

As you can see, the regular SD cards are supported by only the formats between 8 MB and 2 GB

  • TS15g067cl laptop: memory card reader does not recognize the card

Thanks for the info.  Disk management does not show the drive.  The problem was resolved after reloading BIOS, as suggested in another post.

    Hi all

After that I installed windows 7 32 bit on my laptop, it does not read my sdhc card.

Can someone help what to do?

    Thank you very much:

    Hello

Have you installed the driver for the card reader?
Have you noticed an unknown device in Device Manager?

Please see the page of European disk from Toshiba for the card reader driver.
Satellite A200-1N7 belongs to the PSAE3E series
I found the driver of the card reader for Vista 64-bit
Usually the Vista driver should work on Win 7 OS too

If this does not work, then try the drivers released for A500 or L500 series!

  • Windows does not when you try to copy files from a micro sd using a T-flash card

I have never had any problems to copy files to a flash drive in the past, but recently, I encountered this problem. Windows Vista, connected to the flash player, open the folder, dragged 1 file, and copied correctly. Attempted to copy a second file and he hung up then says windows does not. I pushed cancel and it also says windows does not. He would not cancel function so I went to the Manager of tasks to complete, but without success. I had to reboot the computer, I have tried to reboot several times and tried to copy but without success. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

    Hello

The same information on the key USB applies to map drives
so do not put all the files and folders to the root of the drive.

Have you tried the card in other card readers? Sometimes the reformatting
    the map will refresh it.

    ======================================================

It is the troubleshooter for the readers of SD cards which of course is very similar.

If you can not get the card reader to work, it can be replaced or an external card reader is not
    Dear.

They go bad sometimes. Try these:

/ Settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 when you start then look at the screen - make sure that the USB port is enabled.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Control Panel - Device Manager - hard disk - drive SD card or similar - double click - tab driver-
Click on update drivers (this likely will do nothing that MS is far behind the certifying drivers) then right click
    following the UNINSTALL.

Now bring the controllers USB - right click - UNINSTALL everything in category one at time EXCEPT
the category itself - REBOOT. This will refresh the USB driver stack.

Here is the similar procedure under XP, Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific device if present.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310575

    Do 1 above.

USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices currently connected to your computer, as well as
all USB devices that you previously used. Run Options and check the 1st three choices to see if one is
it. you can remove all instances of the drive and restart again.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/usb_devices_view.html

Start - type in the search box - Windows Disk - find Windows Disk Management on the list above.
Right-click - look RUN AS ADMIN to see if there is a drive letter assigned or a conflict.

Check with the manufacturer of your system for the updated drivers - some card readers to do not use windows
    drivers.

    Hello:

Looking at your other posts it seems that you have yourself painted in a corner.

Since there is no inheritance or the setting USB auto in the BIOS, your only option would be to remove the hard drive, then put it in a USB drive enclosure sata hard laptop, plug in another PC so it can be read, download the drivers there, you need and copy to you user profile on the hard drive removed.

Chapter 5 maintenance manual provides the procedures of withdrawal and replacement for the hard drive.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03733656

Reinstall the hard drive, run the drivers, and you should be good to go.

These would be the drivers you need for your model...
