Windows dvd maker crashes can not use

I can't burn movies with windows dvd creation, it hangs and stops whenever I click on burn to dvd.

Hi Debbiemae,

A. when it last work very well?

B. recent changes made on your computer?

This problem is usually caused by corrupted files or source files incompatible, when there are too many effects and transitions in the project.

You can try to repair the corrupted files by using the windows media encoder and check if the problem persists.

http://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/encoder/default.mspx

You can also try the steps by Anthony of the below thread dealing with the similar problem.

There could be a problem of compatibility with MP3 files.

It may be worth trying to convert your MP3 file in the
Format WMA before you import into Movie Maker.

There are to many free converters available on the net...
download from Koyotesoft is an example:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Koyotesoft "Free MP3 WMA Converter".
    http://www.koyotesoft.com/indexEn.html
(FWIW if you install the converter, you can
Uncheck offerings from Yahoo and Dealio) (also... you
may want to uncheck the CD Ripper and the Easy
    MP3 Cutter)

After installing the program... open and drag and drop
your file MP3/s on the main screen...

Choose a backup folder (path of output). Or just leave...
"Save to the directory the file" checked and the new
files will be saved in the folder with the current files.

    Choose a format...   WMA

    Left, click Convert.

  • You can use video fv to the DVD Format through Windows DVD Maker

A fv format video is downloadable to dvd through dvd windows creation?

    Hello
I don't know if you wanted to designate the type of file .flv or fv. In any case.
Windows DVD maker generally supports these file types:
Video files: .asf, .avi, .dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv
Audio files: .aif, .aifc, .aiff .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, and .wma
File Picture: .bmp, DIBs, .emf, .gif, .jfif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif, .tiff and .wmf
[Please make sure you have the right codecs (audio and video)]
If you are unable to load your video file in Windows Dvd maker, you can download a free video converter that is very simple from the following link:
With this simple software you can convert your video to AVI video file type that is easily supported by Windows Dvd maker

  • have windows on Vista Developer, tried to install Windows DVD maker but doesn't seem to work, cannot publish the movie on DVD HELP

I have the windows Director, went to Microsoft and tried to download Windows DVD maker but does not appear to have installed despite me try it 3 times, all I want to do is publish a movie!

On Vista, Windows DVD Maker requires that you have Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.  If you have one of these versions, you should already have Windows DVD Maker and Windows Movie Maker 6.0.  These versions of Windows Vista are required to have copies under license from MPEG-2 to make a video DVD.

I was not aware of a separate installer for Windows DVD Maker, so I suspect you look at something of a 3rd site part. If it is a Microsoft site, can provide you the address you use?

  • Coding Windows DVD Maker error

    Hi all
I am trying to burn files, but the encoding always stops at 0.6% before generating the following error.

    [Window title]
    Creating Windows DVD

    [Main instruction]
    Cannot create the DVD

    [Content]
An error has occurred when burning the DVD.

    [OK]

    A little more background information:

-I am running Windows 7 Pro
-I don't have any other burning (like Nero) software installed
-There are 11 .vob files to burn
    -C' is 150 minutes 106
-There aren't any effects or a menu custom

Someone at - it suggestions? Internet research shows that there are people who have the same problems, but I don't know yet what are codecs and how to check if I have the vouchers.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello southcecile,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers Site.

The .vob file format is not a supported format file Windows DVD maker. You can try to convert the video files to a supported file format and then try to burn the DVD still. Windows DVD Maker supports digital video files in WMV or AVI container format.

    Hello

    (1) you have any third-party software installed on your computer CD/DVD burning?

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Solve problems with creating a DVD-video using Windows DVD creation
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-problems-with-creating-a-DVD-video-using-Windows-DVD-Maker

    Method 2:

Try to put your computer in a clean boot state, and check to see if the same problem happens.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

  • Not possible to burn a DVD on the Satellite A100-338 using Windows DVD Maker

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100. I'm trying to burn a DVD using Microsoft Windows DVD Maker and a Sony DVD - RW. The laptop has a carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-850 s ATA device.

When I try to burn a DVD, a progress bar appears and is about 2% before the hanging.

I also tried to format the DVD first, and which is progressing well before coming up with an error message saying that the drive could not be formatted.

Anyone got any ideas? Am I missing something completely obvious?

    Hello

the following things could probably help you with your problem:

-> control if a new BIOS for your machine and a new FIRMWARE update for your DVD player are available. Update the BIOS and the player firnware
-> use another applications burning like Nero, CDBurnerXP or other thing that is usually know work well with almost all DVD - RW readers out there
-> use a DIFFERENT brands of DVD media because the carpet * a readers are really picky

If all these steps fail, then it is possible that your drive is defective and must be replaced.

    See you soon
