  • Windows 7 and scanning accident

I have problems with my the solution Center scan feature on my F2120 on windows 7 32 bit.

I read the other pages and they say to uninstall, reinstall, install the patch, but nothing has worked yet

When I press the scan a doc buttons or image, a small "HP scanning" window opens, my printer makes the scan. [Once the printer ends scan HP scanner does nothing then an error ' 4, [(3,42,0) "] and then a windows alert comes up saying" HP Scan resources application has stopped responding "twice

I ran the hpiscnapp.exe in the program files, like another page but it's annoying because I have to analyze each page of a document in a different pdf

    any solution yet?

    Hi guys.

4 3 42 0 problem is caused by the DPI setting you have in windows 7. If you uncheck the option preview of analysis the analysis ends as usual. I tried to remove and reinstall applications and still the problems persists. The problem is with the 13 software scanning HP.

These days many people have monitors high resolution set. The DPI setting can be used to increase the size of police/icon to make it easier to read. I changed the DPI setting in display properties down to the normal of the custom one I had 110%. Then the preview window came ok full screen and no 4 3 42 0 error occurred when performing a scan.

Then, I changed the DPI in custom 110%, recorded in the new and tried the scan. This time, preview opening full screen and not 4 3 42 0 error has occurred.

    Hope this helps you.

    Thank you!

    Cindy

    Hi Cindy,.

As someone suggested on your Dell forums thread, your system is not compatible with Windows 7 and Dell did not provide any Windows 7 drivers for your specific model. If you want these drivers created, you must contact Dell directly.

The most I can recommend download the Windows Vista driver for the modem and install it in the mode of compatibility and explained below:
HOW to: Install a hardware device using the Compatibility Mode driver

If this does not resolve the problem, you need to go back to Windows Vista or buy a Windows 7 compatible modem. If you want to ensure that a specific modem is compatible Windows 7, I recommend using the Windows 7 compatibility list.

  • Unable to set up account, get error in Windows Fax and Scan

I have Windows 7 Home Premium installed, update of Vista home Premium. I've never used the Windows Fax and Scan until today. When I went to set up a Fax account this error in popup:

An error has occurred. Try the operation again later or contact your administrator.

I am the only user & administrator of this PC.

I saw a post on the forum Vista, I tried but still have not been able to solve this problem. Help, please.

    Hello

I tried the suggested method of deletion of registry keys, but it doesn't work on my laptop Win 7 Prof 32 bit with the built-in fax modem.

The fax service works only when I connect the the domain administrator account, even if I put my user account in domain with administrator rights. Before my network has been migrated to Win 2003 Server Win 2008 Server, the fax service worked very well for my domain user account, then the problem could be due to a setting in group policy by default under Win 2008 Server?

Looking forward to responses. Thank you.

Managed to solve today after I do a right-click on WFS, go into properties, Security tab, button "Advanced", then "Change permissions" for my special user for total control account. Open WFS again and click new fax to set up a new Fax account and all went well.

Original title: fax and scan Windows

Why bother to preload a tower PC with windows fax and analyze if the PC has a modem and in fact does not even a wireless receiver.  When an ordinary user like me go buy the adapter wireless and go buy the fax modem, it's like going to a car dealer and make them ask ' you want this car with tires and wheels, or even that it is? »

So when you go to Best Buy and Staples to find a fax modem for this PC HP who did not, and what they have is a Zoom modem that works work, WHAT ARE SUPPOSES to DO THEN?

It is hardware problem, not an operating system. Windows does its part by providing the software needed to complete the job.

  • Windows Server 2008 fax and scanning... .cannot connect fax modem

    Hello

I am running Windows Server 2008 R2. Recently, apparently after you install some automatic updates when the server unexpectedly shut down several weird errors are produced on the machine. First to be noticed was that faxes were more to be received. While they inspected more, the fax service had stopped working and could not be restarted, such as the Windows event log. After searching for some time, a solution was found here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/windowscompatibility/thread/c75ae899-d05b-411d-a7f2-00fdd33b8589/

Fix Subinacl.exe described in the post didn't work, but deleting a corrupted windows journal file did, and the diary of events and fax services would begin again.

I thought that my problem was resolved, but the fax service is still broken.

Trying to set up the server to receive faxes with Windows Fax and Scan, once more, as he had done very well before, I came across another error. What the first implementation account fax by following the Wizard launched by selecting "new fax" for the first time, or through the tools-> accounts-> options for adding fax, the mistakes of the wizard with this message: "there was an error in setting up the account. Please contact your administrator. " After reviewing several other forums (this issue has been much more difficult to find information on then the first described error), this solution seemed to be what has pointed out several positions:

    http://www.Vistaheads.com/forums/Microsoft-public-Windows-Vista-print-fax-scan/50649-fax-account-Wizard-error-2.html

This solution involves deleting the registry keys for accounts via regedit. I tried this, and it did not work.

It doesn't seem to be that much more that I can do. I was ready to try a restore of the system on the server, but apparently there were not a restoration of recorded images, even if this isn't an option.

Are there any other fixes documented for this?

  • Has anyone seen a fax USB modem that works with Windows Fax and Scan?

So far I'm 0 for 2.  PC Fax modems seem to be a lost art.  A few months ago, I tried a USB fax modem and tested the receipt of the fax.  The modem answers the phone, the fax sender starts the transmission and... nothing happens.  Eventually, the sender times out with an error.   Same computer, same Windows Fax and Scan software, with an old modem connected to a serial port, all works well.  Modem manufacturer was not able to help.

And now the same problem with another PC, the modem is different, different situation.  This time I don't have an easy fallback to a serial port.

And that leads to my question - no matter that matter where in fact seen a fax-modem USB in the field send and receive faxes using Windows Fax and Scan on Windows 7, and if yes, what was the make and model?

    Thank you

    -Greg Scott

    Hello Greg,.

    Thanks for the quick response.

You can view the reviews of the product in the manufacturer's Web site and see if that helps.

Also for the Windows Fax and Scan, when your PC or computer would be equipped with a fax modem (or connected to a fax server), it can send and receive documents such as a standalone device. Windows Fax and Scan even includes a handy tool for the design of custom cover pages.

    Also refer to:

I hope this helps. Otherwise, feel free to write us again and we will be happy to help you.

  • Problem with Windows Fax and Scan does not connect to the Internal Modem

Just got a new Acer Aspire 5542-5416 computer laptop with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium, 4 GB of Ram and a 320 GB hard drive. It has a 56 k modem integrated fax of like the old days, but I can't make it work. The laptop did not come with the Windows CD.

If I open the program Windows Fax and Scan, it is not able to connect to the modem. Basically, if I click on tools > fax accounts > Add..., I get a box with 2 choices: to connect to a fax modem or connect to a fax on my network server. When I want to connect a fax modem I get a message that says: an error has occurred. Please, try the operation again later or contact your administrator. It allows me to do this then just clock OK and them I'm right where I started.

While in Windows Fax and Scan, if I click on tools > fax settings... nothing happens. No menu settings or anything ever appears. Quite simply, the program does nothing. If I try tools > Fax Status Monitor... I get a box that says entrance exam status, ready to receive a fax. It has a blue progress bar as something takes over, but it gets about 1/100 to and never goes further or ends. There is no box, but there are 3 buttons: view details, answer call or cancel. If I hit details, I get an empty list. If I click on answer call I get an error that says that the fax service is not available.

If I try tools > Options, general tab has only a single option box is checked: play a sound when come it to new messages. If I try to print a Word or PDF file to a fax using Fax in the printer list, I get the same box with 2 choices: to connect to a fax modem or connect to a fax on my network server, but I get the same error message: an error has occurred. Please, try the operation again later or contact your administrator.

I've searched the Internet high and low for a solution but no luck. There is a lot of discussion about this problem, but none of the solutions work for me. If I go to Device Manager, the modem is working properly and if I click on the Modem query on the Diagnostics tab, it seems to be able to communicate with the modem very well. I tried to roll back the driver and updated again and still no luck, same problem. If I go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fax\Accounts in the registry, there is no subkeys under the folder accounts I can delete.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is there any solution for this? I did a Windows Update last night and has not yet solve it. Thank you.

    Sorry about that.

you will need 3rd party fax programs

This is what you have to buy
