Windows Firewall resets after updates

Hello

We are a company who install a server client internally developed software. Our software requires certain Exceptions to the firewall Windows must be configured. But we would like the situation that sometimes, after the updates of Windows, our clients call us with the problems caused by the firewall, and sometimes we found the reset default exceptions. Is there anyway to prevent this as well on the environments that are the Working Group and based?

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

  • Firefox does not not on Windows 8.1 after update to 32.0

For the last three versions 30.0 and 31.0 32.0 Firefox does not work after update on my laptop Windows 8.1. I tried Firefox reset State by default, uninstall and reinstall and reset my TCP/IP stack (which usually fixes the problem). I also went to Internet Options in IE 11 and unchecked the auto detect settings in the options of LAN connection and then checked again without success. I also have Chrome installed on my machine to check to see if it is in the browser or my internet connection.

Internet Explorer 11 is the only browser that works so something seems to be wrong in Firefox.

I discovered that my Norton Internet Security firewall blocking the new version of the program. Chrome has recently developed automatic updated also and I think too, it was blocked.

    Hi, a G account,.

    You have recently uninstalled software?

Reinstall and see if the problem persists.  If this is not the case, look for a tool to uninstall on the manufacturer site to uninstall again if you do not use.

    Hello ColinMorton,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that you experience connection problems after that you run a Microsoft Update. I would recommend you look at the HP support document: Safe Mode of Windows 8 (8.1 is exactly the same) and the safe boot mode. Once you are in Mode safe I would recommend that you look at and follow the steps in the HP Support document: use Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8) (8.1 is exactly the same) and restore your system a few days before the update that caused you this problem. This will not affect your applications only personal folders that you have installed in the past few days and/or the settings that you have probably changed. You can simply reinstall the applications and/or re - change the settings later.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great weekend!

  • Dell N7110 error window 7 1721 after update of windows 2 weeks ago

After that the Windows update which took place about two weeks ago, I had problems with my antivirus and internet connection software Widi.  I was able to solve the problem with internet and virus scan, but still can connect not push to the tv by widi software would just hang and quick flash of mistake, that I couldn't see.

Reinstalled the driver software and video pro intel first and then tried everything to reinstall the Widi software, but could not.

Tried to uninstall and reinstall, but couldn't - have used the windows repair to remove the program widi, but still does not install.  I get error 1721 saying there is a problem with windows install.

I am able to install other software without problem.

When I run the sfc, it shows errors that can be fixed, and that are related to Windows Media Center and Microsoft-Windows-video-Capture-filters - not sure that this is related.

I tried to re - register the command line, but nothing helped.

Marilyn suggested installing from a command line, but did not any info about the command to use to do this?   Can anyone help?

    Hello Lenniego,

You can also try the following:
Launch a prompt with Run as Administrator option to start the installation

This method will probably allow most Installer failed .msi install/uninstall probably. It just open a prompt with therun as administrator setting, and then run the .msi executable.

Open a right click the cmd.exe command prompt and select "Run as Administrator". This should help most of Windows Installer errors.

Please answer back with an update for us.

    Ludovic,

For the connection problems with McAfee, make sure you that your copy is saved, so you cn reinstall McAfee. I saw one Member recently uninstall McAfee, restart their computer and they can connect. They were then reinstalled McAfee and everything was fine. I don't think that they need to use the McAfee removal tool

    Push2TV had two versions. There was a Push2TV (PT 1000) and Push2TV (PTV2000)

The Push2TV (1000) had problems connecting.

To be able to use Push2TV, I think you need Intel® My WiFi Technology and Intel® Wireless Display

When I was helping a member a little over a year, I found how to Install My WiFi Technology

I do not have the Push2TV adapter, so I can't tell you much about how it works.

  • Windows 8 crashed after update - dual-boot

Hello all, I installed Kubuntu in dual-boot with Windows 8 (not 8.1) a weeek ago and both ran correctly. I've used Windows later than yesterday, and... Update! Win partition crashed after the auto with the Lenovo logo and 6 balls turning constantly.

I tried to use Boot-Repair, but it did not solve my problem.

    An error occurred during repair.

Please write down the following URL:

    http://Paste.Ubuntu.com/9044826/

In case you are still having a problem starting, enter this address to:

E-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

You can now restart your computer.

The start-up files [the operating system currently in use - 14.04.1 LTS Ubuntu] are far from the beginning of the disc. Your BIOS can't detect them. You can try again after you create a partition/Boot (EXT4, > 200 MB, beginning of the disc). This can be done via tools such as gParted. Then select this partition via the [separate/boot partition:] [Boot Repair] option. (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootPartition)

I don't know how to read these newspapers, and I kindly ask someone to read it and to tell me something. Also, I did not understand the last paragraph, sorry.

I have an image of Windows Backup in the case and a CD of Rscue to win. He ran, but I wasn't sure of its possible 'reaction' to the presence of GRUB. is it likely to create problems for my startup parameters? I heard that he is likely to erase everything on my HD

    THINGS THAT MAY BE IMPORTANT:

-Boot-Repair is set to "Secure starting" (checked under "advanced options"), but is not my UEFI/BIOS.

-analyzing sda4 you notice the presence of boot.ini, it has not been deleted after revenues of bootmgr?

    Hi Max,.

Using the restore disc, we can format Windows and we will be able to format the partition. However formatting Ubuntu can contact Ubuntu support forums http://community.ubuntu.com/contribute/support/ubuntu-forums/ since they will be able to guide you to the best.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Tools to keep the reset after update last night

    Hello

I like a lot of other updates Photoshop CC 2015.1 and it seems is come with bugs. The nuances are too big even on smaller setting. Not sure why they felt the need to mess with that. In addition and it's a small complaint, but some of the tools that I have used in previous secession would reset. For example the Lasso tool will return to the regular lasso when I mainly use polygonal lasso. It resets to zero after that I changed the polygonal tool when opening Photoshop. I have not the slightest idea of why she done that now. If there are a few new setting, that I don't know it please advise.

We are able to reproduce this problem on our end.

the workaround is to disable the new start through preferences screen > General

  • Tabs, windows and lost after updating to Firefox and page seems gross

I don't think that you have respect for those who use Firefox. Do you understand how many of us work for the House and need this platform to work for our COMPANY? I think you play games with users, at our expense.

So furious that I must try to solve your problems when I have to work. Last night you gave me a message to try to refresh. You said that everything would be saved.

I TRUSTED YOU. Available on the page at the top has been terrible, and I don't know where my addons went. Still, it seems impractical. but at least my tabs were all there.

Today, you have LOST ALL MY TABS except the ones pinned. All the windows gone, too. I copied the sqlt places of my old Firefox Desktop data to the new folder AppData profile several times. Never worked. FF just kept coming back to show me the pinned tabs.

Really, you evaluate these things first? I want to completely delete this useless refresh and come back when things worked.
    WPA

Please, take a deep breath. Now:

There is no way one click to cancel a refresh, but here is a procedure to return to your prior to refresh the data. It takes 5 minutes, but it's perhaps faster than the recovery of individual files and load those into your new profile.

Check in the folder 'Old data Firefox' update adds a folder with a random semi name on your desktop. If there is only one, that probably has your old settings and Add-ons. If there is more than one, you'll want to work with one who has been updated recently.

Once you have identified the profile folder, that you want to restore, here is my "old profile resurrection suggested procedure:

    Overview

Here are the steps described in more detail below:

    1. Create a new Firefox profile
    2. Delete all of this profile folder
    3. Copy in all of the old profile folder

Create a new profile for Firefox (Windows)

Exit Firefox completely and start up in the Profile Manager by pasting the following text in the search box of the start menu, or the start > Run dialog box and pressing ENTER:

    firefox.exe -P

Note: any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.

Click on the button create a profile, give it a name like OldSettings and skip the option to change the location of the folder. Select the new profile from the dialog box, and then start Firefox.

Open the new profile folder in Windows Explorer

Firefox in the new profile should look like a new installation of the plant. Open the troubleshooting information page by using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • Menu help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table, click on the view file"" button. Firefox will launch your new profile folder in Windows Explorer.

This folder open, switch back to Firefox and get out by using either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Firefox is closed, the profile folder must be front and Center, or you can activate it by using the taskbar.

Copy old data instead of new

In this new profile folder you just popped open - NOT the one on your desktop - select all content (you can use Ctrl + a) and delete (you can press Delete on the keyboard).

Leave this window open, open or switch to your folder of old data of Firefox. Consult your old profile folder. At this level, you should see a folder named bookmarkbackups among other things.

Select all (Ctrl + a) and copy (or right-click > copy or Ctrl + c).

Switch to the empty profile folder in another window and paste (or right-click > paste or Ctrl + v). This may take a few minutes because some files are large.

    Launch Firefox

Firefox should start in this 'new' profile with the old resurrected profile data. Success?

  • Windows 7 boot after update loop

This afternoon, I ran windows update and it said to restart my computer.

Reboot it starts normally and then when it gets to the page where I normally connect it says: "Please wait" then flashes to the 'preparation set up windows. Do not turn off your computer. "And then it restarts and does the same thing over and over again

It does the same thing when I try to run safe mode, so I can't run that.

    "Startup Repair" does with anything

He claims that I have no restore points, (which i cannot believe since I have them never deleted).

Memory diagnostic Windows did not come with anything either.

    Any ideas?
