Windows Installer is not found/missing

I can't download or upgrade of security than windows install is missing, told to contact microsoft by AVG security to solve the problem / make install

First run System File Checker:

Start > type CMD

Right click on CMD and select run as administrator

Type sfc/scannow

Press enter

Note: There is a space between sfc and / scannow

Check in services and start the service manually

Click Start, type services.msc and press enter.

Locate the Windows Installerservice marked.

If available, click top right and select property.
On the general tab, click Start.
Click apply and OK.
Now, try to install the updates.

Click Start , click computer.
Navigate to the location of C:\Windows\System32
Locate and check if you have a file named Msiexec.exe.
If so, complete the remaining steps.
Click Startand then click run.
In the Open box, type regeditand then click OK.
Locate and then click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSIServer
In the right pane of the Registry Editor window, double-click ImagePath.
Change String dialog box that appears, make sure that the string in the value data box contains the correct path for the Msiexec.exe.
Note that the following is an example of the correct path, where drive is the drive where Windows is installed:
drive: \Windows\System32\msiexec.exe/v
