  • Windows Installer during the boot

Whenever I start my laptop, I get a message saying "Windows Installer - preparing to install.  He then proceeds to install the so-called TrayApp because the next message I get will say "Please wait while Windows configures TrayApp".  If I do nothing, he just keeps restarting and never goes beyond this point.  If I cancel, he tried the same thing with the following: C4580 HP product Assistant, MarketResearch, HP Photosmart Essential and then status.

Cancellation of each of them does not solve the problem because it will start all over.  Then after that I canceled for about 3 minutes, it stops.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 running Windows Vista SP 2.

    Dave1313,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

This looks like an application custom HP who keeps trying to install it, but never finished, so he keeps trying every time you start.  It could have bad install due to your security software or settings, or the installation file could be corrupted.  You can try to understand why it is not install and help to complete the installation, or you can just stop it trying to install.

To stop it trying to install:
To start the configuration system (msconfig) utility:
Click Start and type msconfig in the box start the search.
In the section programs, click Msconfig.exe.
On the Startup tab, you will find the application that keeps trying to start and uncheck the box next to it.  It comes out the startup so it will run each time Windows starts.

  • Error message: cannot access Windows Installer during the installation of Java SDK

Original title: How To Install Windows Installer?

OK, so I came to my laptop to do a writing in Word. Later, I tried to install the Java Development Kit, but he said something, of not being able to access Windows Installer. I ignored it and went to download a registry cleaner program to try to solve, but he also said "cannot access Windows Installer". Undertook research to install across the entire hard drive and the Windows registry and I found nothing. Not even the key MSIServer was there. I went to the Services and it was not there either. I opened my journal program, and he said that Microsoft Windows Installer has been deleted from the hard drive. The newspaper program that I use is open source and theres no script that writes, deletes, or replaces all files! So all I can do now is to install again, so I went to the Microsoft Download page: Windows Installer but when I tried to download mine)

Windows6.0 - KB942288-v2 - x 86 .msu) he said first of all, "the search for updates...". "and then"update does not apply to your system. Any help would be appreciated!
    System Specs:
-Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 32-bit
    -Inter Core 2 Duo Processor
    -3 GB RAM
    -220 GB hard drive
    -105 GB free HDD
    -Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop

OK people! I found the answer myself. The only thing I did was to do a system restore to the nearest date when it started to happen and after a few minutes I got the key MSIServer and everything started working again! YAY!

  • Corrupted Windows Installer on the new Windows 7 laptop

I recently bought a new Dell Studio laptop, running Windows 7 (64-bit).  It is my first experience with this new version of Windows.  After search for and resolve a number of issues, I have still a few that I can't get rid of, and all these point to a corrupt Windows Installer (for example, when you try to install Windows Mobile Device Center, I get a dialog box saying "Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.  This can occur if Windows Installer is not installed properly.  Contact your assistance support team. ».  As is my personal laptop at home, I have no support staff).  I saw a number of detailed instructions on how to fix this in XP and Vista, but nothing specific to 7.  And when I try to find the correct file to download on the Microsoft site, all the ones I looked at seems to say that they are not compatible with my system.  Can someone tell me how to solve this problem?

First of all, make sure you have Windows Installer installed:

    1. right click on an empty area of the taskbar, and select Task Manager.
    2. click on the Services tab in top then Services button at the bottom.
    3. see if you can find the Windows Installer service and if its started.

    .. .on mine in manual/stopped.

If its missing or damaged for some reason, try to see if a SFC scan will fix it:

    1. click on start-> Accessories then do a right click on command prompt.
    2. Select run as administrator.
    3. type SFC/scannow
    4. a scan that will take a few minutes to complete turns on. If possible SFC will be auto-fix any problem files.

  • update of Windows 8 corrupt my installation of the HP software

I have a HP C7280 all-in-one on a wired network connection. I have a desktop Windows 8 with the HP software installed. It worked fine until a week or so, when I discovered that among the updates of Windows 8 installed corrupted my installation of HP. I don't remember precisely the update was responsible, but there was about 24 Windows updates installed so far this month. Now when I try to open the HP Solution Center, I receive a message indicating that the configuration is not complete and re - install. I have downloaded the software suite, performed a "Uninstall" and then reinstalled the software. However, the printer still fails to complete now.  I could perform a restore of the system to a date in early October and then disable the updates of windows. But this isn't an optimal solution.

So, I'm stuck and could use some help.

I found the updates of Windows 8 corrupt my HP environment security. Maybe it's just my computer Windows 8 (x 64) pro, but if you have the same problem I did, see if the follow-up to the security update is installed.

Microsoft Windows Installer could not be accessed. Contact your support team to verify that Windows Installer is properly registered, or follow the instructions here (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555175)

If you can't find the installer of Windows in service options, this means that what you fear (his party). The last time I encounter this problem, that I ended up reinstalling Windows, mainly because nothing I had ti solve. Windows Installer only relocated during the installation process.

You can check the Windows Services and find out if it is not active; If it's resolved, you're very lucky, otherwise I'd be getting ready for a backup and reinstall. Hope you can find a better solution, be it I share with you my advice.
