Windows is no longer enabled after startup repair!

Specifications of the computer: SL500 (model M 274633)

2.26 Ghz dual core, Intel Centrino 2

nVidia 9300 M GS

2 GB of RAM

I got a shock a week ago... Windows won't load and repair and recovery 4 commissioning. Ok... I tried Startup Repair tool because it seemed reasonable... It worked. Sort of.

My version of Windows is enabled is no more, and even more annoyingly, because the key has already been activated Windows refuses to accept the current key!

Now, Windows tells me I have the rest of today to activate... I gave in after that system restore has failed so that it starts every time and used R + R4 and tried to "restore to the factory. Which failed.

That may have to do with the fact that I created my restore disks... However, I can not really on for about another week and a half restore disks, these are my holidays.

I desperately need to keep my system intact, it is my lifeline. I live on an isolated island and this is my only form of communication with everyone, as being the main thing that I use for work or school.

Can anyone help?

Well, after spending some time on the ' net and pouring through hundreds of sites I came upwards with a fix "semi".

I said I have type in a 'new' key when Vista application be activated first and the type of the key on the bottom of my computer.

It works! Vista activated!

Now however in the lower left corner of the screen there is a warning.

Windows Vista (TM)

Build 6002

This version of Windows is not genuine.

Very confused... There is absolutely no chance that it is a cracked version of Windows... I got it from a retailer of office.

    Hello

    ·         How have you tried to do system restore?

I recommend you to restore system using a Windows Vista DVD.

    Here's how:

To open the Options menu system recovery using a system repair disc or a Windows Vista installation disc

If your system is damaged and cannot access the menu system on your computer Recovery Options, you can access it using the Windows Vista installation disc or a system repair disc previously.

To use this method, you need to restart (boot) your computer using the disk.
    1 insert the disc.
    2. restart your computer using the power button on the computer.
    3. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.
If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer.

    4. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
    5. If you are using the Windows installation disc, click on repair your computer.
    6. Select the Windows installation you want to repair, and then click Next.
    7. in the System Recovery Options menu, click a tool to open it.

    Hi Norba_1976,

I suggest that you try hitting enter in the name of user and password screen and check if it goes through. If is not connected you then I suggest you to see the following sections which describes all the forgotten passwords.

My laptop is running slow so I thought that I would need to update something. It suggested that Windows Vista Service Pack 2 so I started to update, but I remembered that my previous laptop was having problems with Windows Vista Service Pack 2 so I canceled the update.
I then turned off my laptop later and now when I turn it on it goes to 'Launch Startup Repair', I have let this happen, but can not solve a problem.
I then tried "Start Windows normally", but it goes back to restart and on-screen 'launch Startup Repair '.
Then I tried to boot into 'Safe Mode' = nothing
I tried restoring the system but there is no date available, and he said something like "there is no diagnostic tool.
    I don't know what I can do!

    Hi carlywray,

Your computer came with Windows Vista preloaded? If so, contact the manufacturer for the disk recovery or a method of recovery of your operating system. If you have purchased a full copy of Windows, see this Microsoft document.

  • Windows Vista no longer starts after re-installation (cursor black screen, white after installation)

A few days ago I decided that I wanted to start my Dell Inspiron 1720, back to square one. I knew that there are a few options, so I tried to restore. I realized it let me only a month back in time and my computer was slow for about a year now. I looked through my manual that came with my laptop and decided to unstack reinstall drive in and all re - install Windows Vista. I realized after I put the disk in and from the installation, I forgot to disable my anti-virus (trend pro microphone). I don't know if this is causing the problem, but after the installation, I get a black screen with a white cursor. I let it sit for about 4 hours before I decided to restart my laptop. Once I rebooted, it wouldn't let me normally, start in safe mode, or start from the last successful boot. I then tried to fix with my Vista DVD and who do not have too much work. I also tried the restore and it tells me that I am running in a low state of diagnosis and it cannot be done. I tried to reinstall vista twice since then and I'm out of ideas. Help, please! I forgot to add, when I try to start in safe mode, it stops at the ckcdisk.sys (I think it's called).

    millsx89,

When you install Windows Vista on the 1720 Insp, you need to install the SATA drivers during installation. That's why your system stops at this point. You can also boot into the bios by pressing F2 and changing the Sata in ATA instead of AHCI operation. And then install windows. You will need to change it back once you have installed windows and loaded the drivers.

    Thank you

  • Tecra 9100: Sleep Mode is no longer enabled after closing the lid

    Hello

First post here and not the smartest when it comes to computer skills...

Have a Tecra 9100 about 4 years old, under XP Pro SP2.

last 3 days whenever I close the lid of the laptop it won't STAND BY mode me leaving no option but to propel to the top and I get "SUMMARY FAILURE PRESS ANY KEY."... »

I changed any settings whatsover and since then, I tried to access the Power Saver icon in Control Panel, but when I click on it nothing happens. I then click on a few of the Control Panel Power Options and I get the message "...". "a Microsoft power options and use the Toshiba power Saver saver" which obviously I can't access either!

Is there any reason why closing the lid of my laptop is no longer 'Stand by' mode, basically going in OFF format only, it became a major drawback and don't know where to turn to.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Reading your post I guess windows on own power options and doesn t use Toshiba power saver power profiles.

Generally, the issue should be resolved by switch again to the Toshiba power saver in the-> power options control panel! But your announcement about turning the power on, it is not possible! It s very strange?  :|

In this case, I recommend to remove the Toshiba installation energy saver. This can be done in the Add & Remove programs.

So finally, check out the following steps:
Remove the energy saver, restart the laptop, reinstall the Toshiba Common modules, reboot the laptop and install again the energy saver.

After this procedure, the splash screen should work! By the way; the hibernation mode is disabled by default. If you want to use the Hibernate mode, you will need to enable it first!

  • Windows is no longer allowed after P V conversion

After you perform a P to the conversion of V on a Windows XP-based computer and the virtual machine, the Windows operating system starting now think she has an invalid license even though she is no longer used on the physical computer.  Is there a way around this problem?  Microsoft allows you to keep your license after a P to the conversion of V?

    Appreciate your input

Was the P2V in question an OEM license?  If so, the only thing you can do is run a repair on the operating system and replace the OEM key with a key of ELA.

Do not forget a key OEM is allowed by the hardware, and since you P2V had this box, the key is no longer valid because the hardware has changed.

  • Card NVIDIA of Pavilion Dv7 no longer works after warranty repair

In February, I sent my Pavilion Dv7 (product # A5F93AV, running Windows 7 with NVIDIA GeForce GT 650 M graphics and more onboard Intel(r) HD Graphics 4000) for warranty repairs because he had lost the capacity of the batteries.  While there, according to the Scriptures, HP replaced the motherboard, the antenna wireless (twice) and the bottom of the case.  I received it by FedEx last Thursday, and superficially, everything works well.

However, over the weekend, I loaded one of my most games intensive graphics (Guild Wars 2) and immediately noticed that the video performance was degraded. FPS fell less than 10, when before repair, the game went very well.  After some digging and run Open Hardware Monitor, looks like maybe running has not been reinstated to the GPU when the motherboard has been replaced and the game (and everything else) are using integrated computer graphics.  The monitor indicates that GPU temperature is constantly 0 degrees, with 0,0%, memory controller GPU load 0,0-0,0% video engine GPU GPU.  The GPU memory runs at a constant 2.8%

Because it's my first machine, I really prefer is not to return to Texas for another 2-3 weeks.  Is that what I would be able to visually check myself and potentially connect myself without welding? If so, where I would look internally to do? or what should I take to my local repair shop to repair?

  • Update Windows stuck at 0%, now, windows is no longer enabled. Legal copy. Help!

I have a laptop I bought in 2008 with Windows Vista 64 installed. The product key is valid (and I can prove it if necessary). Laptop has been with SP1 or no service pack. I updated to Service Pack 2, when it came out. Then because I was annoyed with windows constantly wanting to install updates, I temporarily turned off their.

Fast forward a few months and I decide to brand new update. I chose to install approximately 60 of the 80 updates (I don't have Office updates because that my laptop has only a trial edition that I do not). After the updates are selected and I click to download, the download indicator remains at 0% forever. It seems that no update is downloaded, so I cancel the update.

To solve this I finally see suggestions for a Microsoft program with no descriptive name 'Fix it '. The link is here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

I run this program and reboot. It turns out that the downloaded "0%" message for the updates really indicate 45 updates were downloaded enough for windows to try to install during this restart. Computer hangs for more than an hour at 25% of the finished 1. Hard reboot and windows tries to part 2. Windows complete parts 2 and 3, restarts automatically and goes then 2 1/2 hours break updates and reboot.

This process ends, I connect to windows and have an error message saying that windows is activated now more. Enter the product key on the bottom of my computer does not work.

    What now?

  • Computer with pre installed windows 7 no longer work after Windows installation 10

    Hello

A few months ago, my son ordered a computer with Windows 7 pre-installed. He installed Windows 10 such as recommended with the message 'free upgrade'. Unfortunately, now the computer does not work at all and the computer doesn't seem to have a possibility of recovery (at least we cannot find it).

In addition, the computer manufacturer does not meet one of e-mails and calls from some time. What can we do to recover his computer with Windows 7 or Windows 10 (I don't like which version of Windows)? Windows setup does not work 10 from scratch, the product key has not been accepted, probably because there is only a product key for a pre installed windows 7.

    Help, please!

    Kind regards
