• Vista crashes, I got an error that says "this copy of Windows is not geniune on my HP OEM machine".

• Cannot open ALL programs on my laptop. Lower right corner indicates now that my vista windows is not geniune.

  To check the activation status and activate it online, follow the steps below:

  • Open the start menu.
  • Right click on "Computer" and click Properties

  If will launch the Properties window of the system with the activation status. You can click on 'Activate' out there and check if it is active online. If you receive an error message, we know this error.

  If you encounter the same problem again, try the phone activation.

  • Click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

  It is a small company that has put the pieces together to make a computer and then install the operating system for you?

  Or is the system an ACER, HP or a marked ASUS system sold by a company that is now out of business.

  If the LATTER, you may be able to contact the OEM in question to get a recovery/restore backup media.

  If the FORMER and you never had a DVD/product key with your paperwork, reception, etc. - you are probably out of luck.

• Impossible to change the product key for Windows 7 Home Premium after having received notification that Windows is not geniune

  I have no idea how the product key has been changed to my OS to an OEM_SLP as I have the genuine key supplied with the system on the COA label.

  I bought this system through Best Buy and today I received a notice that it uses a non-genuine version of Windows 7 Home Premium, but when I noticed the wrong product key, I have been unable to return to the good pair through my computer properties in the Activation of Windows.

  My Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit has recently started giving me the non-genuine message. Just before that happened for the first time, I added some RAM, which was not operating at the same frequency as my old RAM. Later, when I discovered that this might have caused the problem, I took the RAM out, and I still get the message. I have run the MGADiag.exe and he said that Windows is genuine. I tried to activate it via slui.exe 3 by using the product key that I found in my registry, which in fact corresponds to the key which MGADiag.exe shows, says that the key does not work. I must also say that my Windows Media Player does not work. I would be very grateful to anyone who could help. In any case, here are the MGADiag.exe test results.

  Have you tried to restart by phone?
