Recently, I have this problem, my laptop started, he began to check for errors on the disk (D :). after reaching 100% for more than an hour, I thought it got stuck and stop my laptop with the power button.) Now when I run windows even loads disk control D: starts but its stuck at 0%

I tried the automatic recovery, but I failed. I opened the advanced recovery, troubleshooting, and the command prompt.

Since the command that I could access C, E, F (my 1 TB HD is divded into C, D, E, F) discs but the opening of d: it shows redudancy cyclical error. Running Chkdsk it gives an error
Cannot run Chkdsk for RAW readers...

I tried to ignore the disk check, but windows won't load. the loading screen just guard spinning.

Thanks for help.

Hello

You might try to wipe the disk, but it may not make a difference...

You have nothing to lose but some time...

You probably found the RAW because the drive was damaged when the chkdsk command was arrested... She basically lost his file from formatting\partitioning...

The reader can already failed and the reason for the chkdsk to begin with...

Another thing, you could try that would be faster and CAN recover the drive is to reinstall windows and install a CUSTOM...  You'll get a screen to remove all the partitions and/or reformat the drive...

Just delete them all and see if windows install and create what he needs...

Otherwise, try again and this time format the drive in NTFS... Windows will probably be repartitioning again...

If your installation media does not restore to factory settings, it might be a good time to spend to Win 8.1 or 10 and start again...

You can also be in need of a new HARD drive...

  • Is anyway to create fifth partition and keep the basic hard disk?

Hi, my laptop is g7 1207se Pavilion and the and HP has made 4 partitions (C for windows) and the other 3 for system files and recovery, I want to create a new partition for my files (so I can recover my system without losing them) or install other operating systems, but apparently if I want to create fifth partition I have to convert my hard drive in Dynamics by the practice that I won't be able to boot from any partition but the C, which means no recovery and no other operating system.

I tried to use the copy and paste, but when I try to open the catalog on my laptop lightrooom cannot find the photos because he is always looking for them on the old hard drive. How can I get lightroom to get on the new drive? When I try to manually connect the photos they disappear just from any folder, they are in Lightroom.

    Hi Mike Nature.

    Greetings.

As you have already moved the catalog and the files on the hard disk up, visit this link on how to find missing images/files

I suggest you look for missing files.

The images do not disappear, but after the relining, they should be available under the new hard drive.

  • Export the drive letter of windows and vmware number of hard disk in csv format

    Hello

is there a way to export to CSV, the windows drive letter (c:, d:, e:, etc.) and the number of disk hard vmware ("Disk 1", hard disk 2", etc.) to a csv file?

Take a look at this document: http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-12180

It is based on the idea of Hugo Peeters', but it uses the Invoke-VMScript cmdlet and therefore does not require a network connection to work between the virtual machine and your station PowerCLI.

Export is sent to the Out-GridView cmdlet, but it can be easily redirected to a CSV file by replacing the line:

    $DiskInfo | Out-GridView

    with:

    $DiskInfo | Export-Csv "C:\Script\VMDiskMapping.csv".

  • Cannot start Windows, Windows Setup does not detect the hard disk, Bootmgr is misiing

I have a few problems on my laptop [Acer 3810 t]

    -The first problem
My mobile give me screen "cannot start windows' who have 2 choices: run the Startup Repair tool and boot normally. I chose to fix it, but nothing happens and stuck "starting windows" and gives unmountable boot volume 'blue screen '. the Dungeon of blues screen appear (for laptop is a not restart). So I turned off my phone and turn it back on it. the "could not start" screen again and I chose to start normally. but the result is negative. My portable Dungeon cannot start windows. Because of that I am using the advanced boot option and choose all the boot type such asit cannot load the safemode, last configuration etc, but the result is the same, you cannot start windows. in safe mode, its stuck in loading fileinfo.sys. I do not give up to try again with the advanced boot option. until I have a bad situation. My laptop can only 1 file in safe mode and blues screen do not appear again (my laptop only return at the beginning of start or restart)

    -The second problem
because it cant solved, I want to reinstall my laptop. My OS is Vista 32 bit (pre-installed). I want to install the new operating system, windows 7. I use Dsik Flash bootable USB to install Windows 7. But in the BIOS, it is detected as a USB HDD. So I set my BIOS to load USB HDD to the first order. the installation can be done, but only until the "start Setup" screen and its deadlock. I have it wait up to an hour, but nothing happens. So I'm going to BIOS, change SATA mode to IDE mode AHCI. Then load the USB and go "installation program start screen. but the new problem is the installation of window does not detect my hard drive. So I can not choose the place to install the operating system. I have to load the driver, but I did not. Again to load the configuration to AHCI and IDE, until I get my HDD can detected in IDE mode. So I think I can move easily, I choose custom installation and choose the hard drive to install the operating system. But unfortunately, at the beginning of the process, after choosing the OS, the Installer gives error if installation location the installation failed. (I forgot the error message)

    -The third problem
So far, I can't spend 'startup begins' as well in mode IDE and AHCI. Also bootmgr in my hard disk is missing, so I can't go to move the startup repair or the startup option in my HDD as before

What is the error code that you got with blue screen?

I think that there is a problem with your drive HARD check that by contacting acer...

  • Upgraded to windows 7 and also a new hard drive

    I have a 2005 HP m7060n Media Center http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c00306958 & lang = to & cc = us & taskI... running on XP
I was looking to upgrade to Windows 7 and also install a new drive.  New readers are shipped with windows 7 already preinstalled and when I change the disks, it will start windows 7.
How could I then exchange the old files to the new drive?
What is your solution the best and less expensive?  How do you do this?  Help, please.
    Thank you
    Marco

I suggest that perform you a clone of the hard drive. Seagate drives and WD offer a free version of the wizard disk.

Clone the original 200 GB drive to the new drive.  To avoid problems, has chosen a 1.5 or 1 t T drive. Once you have the clone, just install the upgrade on the new drive. All your data will remain intact, and the intact original of 200 GB drive is secure.

PS > you need a spare sata power and data leads to the clone. Look inside and see what led power is hanging loose. Then I can suggest an adapter or cable. As the DVD is IDE, (not Sata) from what I've read, you will need a Sata data cable also.

  • Can I download Windows XP and save it to a disk?

    WINDOWS XP / HOME EDITION / 2002 VERSION / SERVICE PACK 3

Can I download Windows XP Service Pack 3 on the Microsoft site and save it to a disk?
I was going to wipe my hard drive and reinstall the operating system on my machine, but I don't have the original CD supplied with my machine.
I was informed by a representative of Microsoft Answers to contact the manufacturer of my machine because windows was preinstalled. After contacting the manufacturer of my machine, the representative told me that I could buy a Windows XP installation CD and install Windows XP on my machine.
Is it possible to download Windows XP Home Edition / Service Pack 3 on a website and burn it to a CD and then use that CD to reinstall the Windows XP operating system on my machine? That's what I need http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=25129
Thanks in advance for your answer.

NO, you can not do what you plan to do.

The files available for download called "Windows XP Service Pack 3" are updated to a full installation of Windows XP.  You can either download an ISO (or 'image') - which is what is your link - or executable file (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=24).

The ISO file or image is used to create a CD using software able to do this, for example ImgBurn(free).

In both cases, what you get is the 'service pack' and not the full Windows operating system.

You need a Windows XP installation CD.  It may be 'gold' (as originally published) or you can find one that integrates the service pack 1 or service pack 2 or service pack 3.  If you get a pre - sp3 installation CD, you will need to update the installation soon after installation.  You can go from sp 1 directly to sp3 without need to install sp2, but if you get an installation CD "gold" you first need to install sp 1 or sp2 before installing sp3.

Because Microsoft stopped selling Windows XP some time ago, real installation CD are becoming harder to find.

Although the representative of the manufacturer of your computer is correct that you could buy a Windows XP installation CD and install it, the manufacturer was hired by its license from Microsoft to provide you with a method of re-installing Windows when you purchased the computer.  This may have been a restore partition hidden on your hard drive or a CD/DVD that came with your computer.  I guess that you have lost or damaged what was initially provided so the manufacturer is more able or do not want to replace it with a CD.
