Windows Mail - enabled, don't know which server I have.

Hello

I hope someone can help me with this. I fail to activate the Mail Windomws because I do not know the incoming server and outgoing mail. I got in touch with those who deliver my internet, but did not help.

I really hope that som of you know how to find my servers, I tried the alternatives given: imap, pop3, and SMTP - I get a message that the servers not to right.

I thank very you much for trying to help me.

When I try to activate Windows Mail, it starts with an example address: Email removed for privacy.

I have three different alternatives after the @:

@microsoft.com

@gmail.com

@hotmail.com

This information has been useful? Or you have any suggestions how to find my servers.

Forget them @microsoft.com that is NOT one of your email addresses. It's only discussion groups.

Here is a link to set up your Hotmail account in Windows mail.
http://email.about.com/od/windowsmailtips/Qt/et_get_hotmail.htm
A very important point : when it comes to entering your hotmail address, give a FALSE address. Do not use the word hotmail. When you have everything done and finished. Windows Mail will tell you.
Now, go back to the servers window and erase the false address, enter the real hotmail address.
Read the instructions carefully, step by step. Do not jump.

If you have a roadblock, after return of responses.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

  • I bought a game and I need visual c ++, I don't know which of them I need

I bought a game and I need visual c ++, I don't know which of them I need because I tried to install many of them, but he repeated to me that it is not possible.

I really need your help because the game was very broad, and still I don't know whick one I need.

Thank you and sorry because my English is not so good.

    - "I tried to install many of them, but he repeated to me that it is not possible."

You are logged on as administrator, and have you tried to disable your anti-virus or UAC temporarily when trying to install C++?

-As you have discovered, there are many versions of C++ (I have 20 on Win7 64 bit).

However, C++ error messages normally specify what version is necessary and the most recent

Games will automatically install the version of C++ required by the game.

-If the game is not to install C++ you will find that it uses on the game disc.

Just 'Open ' the drive and search for a C++ Installer (.exe) files and install C++ directly

    starting from there.

-Have you installed all the 'important' Windows updates (do not install the 'optional' update

    for graphics drivers)?

-Have you updated .NET Framework to version 4.5?

Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 of the official Microsoft Download Center

If the game is a recent version, it may require C++ 2010 or 2010.

-You probably have these already, but just in case where -

Download: Details Package redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (x 64) - Microsoft Download Center - Download

Download: Details Package redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (x 86) - Microsoft Download Center - Download

-There are also three versions of C ++ 2012, but mine have been installed automatically. I'm not sure,

But if they were not installed by games, then maybe Windows updates install C ++ 2012?

-What games are you trying to install? Is this a diskette the retail version, steam or to download other

    version (specify what 'other')?

And what graphics card your machine uses?

When you try to use a Windows Live e-mail account or a different Web-based e-mail account in Windows Mail, you cannot send e-mail messages?

Windows Mail supports more HTTP servers that are used by Hotmail and other e-mail providers such as AOL mail, Google mail, Yahoo! mail Web.

To resolve your problem, use Windows Live Mail instead of Windows Mail.

Windows Live Mail works with popular Web-based e-mail services such as Hotmail, AOL mail, Google mail, and Yahoo! mail. Windows Live Mail is designed to configure automatically many popular e-mail services.

Windows Mail also supports the types of Server Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3) and Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP).

    Hello

Most of the USB 2.0 DVD burners will be compatible XP (be sure to get a burner so you can make CD
and DVDs and not just play).

A very good source of information would be supported by the manufacturer of your system and their forums (if any).

Another good source would be your local computer store or even a major retailer like Best Buy
    or the FRY.

This is good, but there are many good brands.

  • Don't know which of my two copies of Windows 7 to use

Hi, sounds like a stupid question, but I have two copies of Windows 7, the one installed on the machine 1 and another which is installed on machine 2, who is now dead.  I want to use the product key from machine 2 (these are these two retail licenses) on my new machine 3, but I don't remember which of the product keys I used to machine 2.  I'm worried if I'll take a guess and be wrong, it will disable the machine 1.  Any suggestions on the best way to go about this?  Thank you!

Compare key - license in use

    Click Start, type: cmd

    Right-click on CMD

    Click on run as administrator

At the command prompt, type the following command:

    slmgr - dli

    Press enter on your keyboard

This will reveal the key to partial product that give a clue. Compare it with the keys that you have and it will confirm which copy is in use.

  • Windows Mail staying don't default step

Until recently, Windows Mail was my default program for mail and newsgroups. But I've also used Outlook as another user connected to a different domain. Then I installed MS Office 97, as well as his version of Outlook, which was not compatible. So I uninstalled the old version of Outlook, and the next, I was connected to the other account, I opened the mail with the new version of Outlook. It is configured with no prompt, but then when I logged on my main account the default mail had been reset to Outlook.

I've changed the link in the menu start of Windows Mail and when it came he asks if it should be set by default and I answered Yes. But since then if I closed and reopened Windows Mail it always reports that it is not the default.

If I choose the utility of default programs, it shows Windows Mail (Newsgroups), but the associated files do not include e-mail (.eml) files. Outlook displays the email as not checked. Should I reinstall Windows Mail? Can it be done without a Setup disk?

Here's how to set Windows Mail as the default email association: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/83185-windows-mail-default-associations.html.  If it is already there, then delete it and follow the instructions to add back (by the link in the article).  Note If Windows Mail is not listed, there is a link to add to the set of default programs so that you can choose it provided.

No it's not a registry fix (well, actually it's just that we don't know where he makes the changes - which "s true of most of the applications in the control panel).  Once it is added, check it out and then click on it add as the default for everything what you want that is listed.  We hope to add this way will restore all of the default options, some of which may have been lost or corrupted (if all goes well, including electronic mail).

In the registry key to change the default mail client is stored in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT hive as follows: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\command].  You asked and I finally found him.  The problem is that if we knew the program we want to here instead of what is currently there, that we do not know the commands that follow the simple registration of the path.  For example, mine is Outlook 2007 and it reads: ' "C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~4\Office12\OUTLOOK."» "EXE" - c IPM. Note/m '%1' note all entries that follow Outlook.EXE.  I have not the slightest idea of what they mean, or what would be appropriate if anything for Microsoft Mail (and enter the wrong thing could spoil Microsoft Mail completely - just not not being is not a defect but it can cause the program to function or other damage). A good rule to follow is if you don't know what you doiing in the registry, LeaVE IT ALONE.  I have looked hard for entry but can't find it anywhere.  If you go to try this despite my warnings, then first create a system restore AND registry backup point - then it may be possible to recover, everything what happens.

A word of warning, do not use Registry cleaners, Registry Booster, fixers registry or something like that - none of them are any good, and many of them can cause a lot of damage.  If you have everything installed, removed and never to use again them if you are evaluating your registry and your system base.  It is common knowledge among the 'technicians' but is not widely published.  I've been involved in routed where it causes so much damage that we had to do a clean install as our only option.  Vista does very well on its own.  Don't risk your system by using such a program.

There is no way to reinstall all Windows Mail.  To reinstall Windows Mail, you will need to rei - install the entire Vista operating system (there is no download separated - it is built into the system).  I don't think you want to go this route if you will not even consider a system restore.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
