Windows Mail in Vista with msn e-mail account.

I have vista and would prefer to use outlook express, but can't because I have vista, and then they can't stand not msn/hotmail.  I don't like the way I view msn via hotmail.  So, vista windows mail.  Same thing.  Help!  I want to see/use of email such as outlook.

The Microsoft link above all the info you want about enamel and vista.

And you cannot use Hotmail in Windows Mail.

But you can get Windows Live Mail.

If your Web host/ISP e-mail allows using IMAP rather than POP is probably the easiest way.

Check with them if they take in IMAP support and how to configure your e-mail client (Windows Mail) accordingly.

I have two DISTINCTS Windows Mail accounts with two SEPARATE e-mail addresses.  I know how to add to a mail folder, but I need to keep them separate.  Is this possible? How?

    Use Message rules.
Open Windows mail > tools > Message rules > Mail > New.
Note: The rule for an e-mail address, rule #2 #1 for each other.
Under Select the Actions for your rule: when you have selected the action, also put a check mark on «Stop treating rules more»
See if you can do it yourself.

  • Problem with new incoming messages to my Windows Mail account

Since 2-3 weeks, I've known more fault with new messages from my Inbox on Windows Mail.  I have the 1st message, but then the connection is interrupted and I get the following message: "your server has ended suddenly the connection. The possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'pop.tiscali.co.uk', server: 'pop.tiscali.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, error number: 0x800CCC0F. "Error may occur when I log in to access new messages from the server, or when the mail comes while I was already connected.  The fault is intermittent: sometimes I can access mail normally again.  When I live the flaw, I close the Windows Mail error message, press the send/receive button and my incoming emails (including the 1st) is normally followed.  For the record, I'm not problems with outgoing mail.

I would appreciate any ideas on what could be causing this fault and what remedial measures I could take.

I have no first hand know how to do this in Norton that I would never use Norton. Very common with any security program which is mail scanning has never caused a problem, but there is an update and 'poof', there you go.

  • Separate e-mail using windows mail accounts.

Using vista Home premium and the e-mail program. Just, I created a new e-mail account for my wife and want to keep my email separate from hers, for obvious reasons. I would like to know when I open it using the icon, if there is a way to know which account is open? With outlook express on XP you can just change identities. First, I activated his account that have downloaded messages in my Inbox.

Separate connection of Windows that you are using? Remove your account from its instance of WinMail and his your instance of WinMail.

If you use the same Windows login name, you can use message rules to separate incoming mail, but that a single account can be default.

As WinMail does not support multiple identities, you might be interested by this.

    Hello

Most email providers have online instructions to set up Windows Mail. Your provider is all that is
After the @ in your e-mail address. So if your address ends with @domail.net your provider would be
Domaine.NET. in addition the email provider is also their ISP.

  • Contacts and Windows mail accounts

I need to set up a different e-mail account in windows mail.  This account using my contact list current, or separate?  I really wish to be separate, since I use an account created for the not-for-profit club.

It uses the same contacts file. In addition to using the same contacts file, you will need to create a second "Inbox" and use message rules to divert the incoming mail on behalf of the second Inbox.

As far as I KNOW, the only way around this is to have a separate profile to logon Windows, or maybe the program could contribute.

  • How to configure my Windows Mail account?

I try to put my account but I can' t tried to use step by step, but it does not always send me an email.

    Hello

In addition to what davidhk129 suggested, also check this setting: Tools/accounts, click your e-mail account and then click Properties. On the Server tab, you must check the box that requires authentication. It is a step that is often forgotten in the configuration of pop e-mail accounts.

  • Windows Mail - account signatures

I have 2 email via MS Windows Mail to access accounts and have set up 2 different signatures for each account, but when I compose a new message, the default signature appears regardless of which account I select (when I compose a new email message that appears is the default account).   I remove the default signature in the email and include signature of the 2nd account by selecting ' insert/signature', but I want it to automatically insert.  What I am doing wrong?

Not only signatures bad, but this looks like your sending messages to the wrong account as well.

    You have two options:

    1. you can get the WMIDS program, and it will add this feature in Windows Mail.

    http://www.oehelp.com/WMIDs/default.aspx

    2. you can switch to Windows Live Mail Beta (WLM). There Inbox folders for each account. It supports Pop3, IMAP, HTTP Web site (EX: Hotmail) e-mail and is much more stable. WLM will automatically import messages, accounts and settings from Windows Mail in there. Contacts must be imported manually. (Tools, Contacts, files, import Windows Useer current addressbook.

Personally, I would switch to Windows Live Mail-, but the decision is yours.

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite L300 Windows 7 to Vista with Toshiba Recovery CD

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 Series (2008 model) cell, which was originally Vista but I installed Windows 7 Professional on this topic. I would now like to go back to Vista.

I noticed that the "Windows.old" folder created on the c: / drive appears to be missing a lot of files and could have been modified since the date of that its creation. I think it would be too risky to use it to recover back to Vista.

So my question is can I use my original Toshiba Recovery DVD set to return to Vista? I want to do a full factory reset to restore my system when it was purchased with Vista.

If the recovery DVDs is not an option and was the only is by using the Windows.old folder, if it is missing important files so she could leave my corrupt system? I don't know there is a way to get back to Vista by restoring factory somehow.

    Comments and reactions to urgent!

    Thanks in advance.

    > So my question is can I use my original Toshiba Recovery DVD set to return to Vista?
Without a doubt. Only using original recovery disks you will have factory settings again.

What is the Windows experience index?

Read the article above about it.

    Your score of 3:

A computer with a base score of 3 is able to run Windows Aero and many new features Windows Vista at a basic level. Some of the newWindows that Vista advanced features would not have all of their functionality available. For example, a machine with a base score of 3 can display the Windows Vista theme at a resolution of 1280 × 1024, but might struggle to run the theme on multiple monitors. Or, it can play digital TV content but might be difficult to read the content of the TV high definition (HDTV).
