Windows Media center has disappeared!
I recently had some problems with my vista home premium and had a friend of mine glance that he ended by wiping and re-install vista but now my windows media center is is more here, I have read other forums, that I could find here nothing doesn't. The only solution I have found so far is to re - install vista again but I had not given a CD or DVD when I bought my laptop. Any ideas?Ouch.
The only explanation I have for this, is that your friend used a Vista disc vLite (and had removed the last Media Center.)
Once this is done, there is no "resettlement" function - you will need to reinstall the operating system on a blank disc.
A friend. Can bring you to install again, but common sense this time?I looked everywhere on the Sony site - no order records 'here '. (Sony could take a cue from HP in this Department...)
So, I suggest you Contact Sonyand tell them about command filtering alternatives. You'll need.-Chris [If this post can help solve your problem, please click the 'Mark as answer' or 'Useful' at the top of this message.] [Marking a post as answer, or relatively useful, you help others find the answer more quickly.]

Windows Media Center has stopped updating the lists Guide for Windows 7
Windows 10 will go out the next Wednesday July 29, 2015. I have Windows 7 and I have technical problems with the Guide in Windows Media Center lists. This isn't updated Guide lists and I wonder if this problem is related to the upgrade of Windows 10?
I called a technician to answer Microsoft desktop and the technician fixed my computer errors. Unfortunately, he could not fix this problem. Even though I always reset and auto update of listings in the Guide, the result will prove be the same with "no data."
Windows Media Center has given me many error messages:
Windows Media Center
"Windows Media Center has corrected a problem with your registration data and will download the Guide even once. You should review your records to make sure they are always planned properly. »
Failed to download
"The new TV configuration data could not be downloaded. Existing data, if any, will be used as you continue by configuring the TV signal. »
Downloadable guide is not available
"Downloadable TV Program Guide listings are not available due to previous failures of download. For more information, right-click on the Windows Media Center system tray icon and open Windows Media Center update log. Select back to try again. You may be able to get the TV show lists, if they are available. »
Guide download error
"The Guide could not be downloaded. For more information, then Windows Media Center system tray icon right-click and open Windows Media Center update log. »
I can watch TV on the computer using Windows Media Center and manually record TV shows, but it is difficult for me to record TV shows without ads Guide on Windows Media Center.
Note to update (as of August 2, 2015):
The Electronic Program Guide (EPG) for Windows Media Center Guide ads was already programmed by zap2it until July 21. After July 21, zap2it is no longer can update the lists Guide for Windows Media Center.
July 23, Rovi Corporation's new Electronic Program Guide (EPG) for Windows Media Center Guide ads.
From 23 July, listings in Windows Media Center Guide is running back to normal for Windows 7 users.
My Guide Panel is equipped with a selector more [on the listings in the Guide] where is the expiration date. I hope that Microsoft does not support Windows 7 WMC.
Please don't waste your time trying to solve the WMC, it is the expiration of the license that is causing the problem. I know it's frustrating.
On the other hand, is - can anyone say with certainty that WMC is available on Windows 10? No charge for the upgrade to Windows 7?
The way I see it, not providing the function of key in W7 WMC guide is motivation upgrading to W10, assuming that WMC is available.
Hopefully Microsoft will give us the fix for WMC in W7.

Original title: WMC no longer works after update of August 10
Windows Media Center has stopped working after installation of my Windows 7 Professional pc all 11 updates gave me on August 11, 2010. I used system restore to the day before the updates, and install them individually. The first 9 no trouble with WMC. But the IE8 KB982664 for Windows 7 compatibility view list caused my action center to report that I needed to check the undeclared solutions to problems. WMC would still start. But after installing KB983590 .NET framework 3.5.1 for Windows 7 x 86, WMC has stopped working.
After you uninstall update 2 above WMC would still not start.
After using the system again restore forward updates, I installed the other 9 updated with, so far, no problem with WMC.

Former pilot Mig15. Now using Windows 7 Professional and Project Professional 2010 Beta.
Hi Davy-D,
Step 1: Perform the upgrade on the spot
a. close all applications, insert the DVD into the DVD drive of the computer.
b. in the settings window, click install now.
c. click go online to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).
d. type the CD key if you are prompted to do so.
e. click Yes to accept the Microsoft software license agreement.
f. on the type of installation do you want? screen, click upgrade.
g. when the installation is complete, restart your computer and check the difference.See Method 2 of this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958044/en-us
Very Important: Run a repair installation will not damage files and applications that are currently installed on your computer. However we recommend that you back up data, performing the steps incorrectly can delete data.

I'm having a problem with Windows Media Center. It starts no problem, but when I click on recorded TV, it says that "Windows Media Center has stopped working, seeking resolutions... "If I click on TV guide there is no problem. I tried a restore, but for some reason any restore function has been disabled.
(copy - paste from another thread - user has same question):
You has not, coincidentally, happens to record last Friday (I think it is?) episode of human target (what happened to be replaced by a House reruns), did you?
Reason I ask: it has been a little traffic on to thegreenbutton on the subject these days - and everyone who reported also arrived to try to save human target. Somehow, the file finished with metadata is corrupted, what makes MC crash when you enter recorded TV (at best, it crashes when you select the program from the list.)
FIX: Open Explorer and go to C:\users\Public\Recorded TV. Find and remove "human Target__ "(exemple: «La Target_WDIVDT_2010_10_01».) ".
Start Media Center, and then try again. Fixed?HTH,

Original title: Windows Media Center has suddenly stopped being able to see tuners.
I am running Windows Media Center and have a 6 Ceton infinitv tuner connected to my network. Since a few weeks things have worked very well. Now suddenly after installing a faster wifi adapter, I get messages such as unable to find tuner or all tuners are busy... who don't feel like I can always go to the tuner by Explorer or chrome, by typing the address of it and it arises but also shows that it is set on the channels that I am no longer watching.
