I just installed windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit. I did all my updates, and I'll try to find windows media player is not there at all. Is there a way I can get it here and get to windows media player 12?

WMP is part of the company, but is not loaded by default.

To load the WMP - control panel, programs and features, [left] activate Windows features or not, media features, set the Windows Media Player box, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

  • Windows Media Player ActiveX plays do not image, but the stand alone WMP application. Why?

I use my Windows Media Player v11 with extra codec to play mp4 files (mp4 are not supported by default with WMP 11, so I had to install a codec). It works very well in the stand-alone application, but when I use the ActiveX control in the regulation, it does not use the codec and I get only sound... no picture. I thought that the ActiveX was merely an interface to the same application of base used by OR and the stand alone media player. And if it's the same kernel, it must use the same codec. What Miss me?

I have a tip for you. If you download Quicktime 7 (QT), you can select the QT activex player (see picture). It plays mp4 and seems better. QT is free, so there shouldn't be any problem. Try and see if it make you good

  • Windows Media Player 11, DVD video, not big enough in fullscreen

During playback of movies DVD with WMP 11 and in full screen, the video does not stretch to the edge of the screen.

I have a flat screen monitor set to 1600 x 900. When I entered the mode full screen the video becomes a bit larger, but does not fill the edges of the screen. In other players such as InterWinDVD player or video Media Player Classic DVD of the CCCP play full screen completely to the edges of the screen (except for two black borders on the top and bottom do wide screen of culture).

However in WMP 11 200% is not big enough. I was wondering if it is possible to get the video to play 300 or 400% in size?

    Here's what I mean:
    http://img44.imageshack.us/i/wmp11problems.jpg/

Notice how the video area (Pink) is not stretched to fit the vertical edges of the screen.

I really like WMP 11 due to SRS wow effects. Unfortunately, since the upgrade to a monitor flat screen with a resolution of 1600 x 900 WMP 11 the fact that the culture of the video. Other players I use InterWin DVD or the Media Player Classic CCCP do that mean the culture of the video. I am running Windows XP with SP3.

    Hey Helldiver.

Check if you have the plug-ins installed to support the features of DVDs on your Media Player. Windows Media Player is a complete DVD player when combined with a DVD decoder (MPEG-2 decoder) with features such as full-screen video playback controls, ads chapter DVD and integrated pouch.

If you are running Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate, DVD capabilities are included as part of the operating system. If you are running Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista business, or Windows Vista Enterprise, you can enhance your DVD playback experience by purchasing a pack of decoder DVD or upgrade to a more powerful version of Windows Vista.

Here is a link to the list of plugins that you can install to get the features of full fledge for you DVD:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/plugins.aspx

Try to install these plug-ins and see if you can get the service your DVD playback fullscreen

  • Windows Media Player for Vista, does not play my avi files and says he has a codec error?

Came across this problem trying to put an AVI in powerpoint presentation for the school. I don't know how this happened or how to fix the error. The error indicates that windows media player is not the right codec to play the video. However, when I sent it myself and opend it upwards on another computer, which doesn't have powerpoint, it plays very well.

I did some research as to what a codec for windows media player, that's what code and decodes the video compression. However, when I tried to download the appropriate codec file, there is nothing. Not even useful workaround solutions.

In addition, went and downloaded quicktime and it could not read the video either.

Any help or ideas would be greatly apreciated. Thank you!

    Hi DaisyReaper,

Are you able to play .avi files?

You can use your favorite search engine to download and install the latest codec for Windows Media Player. Subsequently, check if you are able to read .avi files.

  • Windows Media Player is missing in Set Program Access and Computer Defaults

I recently discovered that when I wanted to install a default media player, Windows Media Player was absent from "Default programs". When I ran a search on this problem, I had the suggestion that I enable access to Windows Media Player with "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults." However, when I tried this, I found that Windows Media Player was also absent from "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults"! Now, what I want to know is, how to restore Windows Media Player in the list of Set Program Access and Computer Defaults?

Here's a hint: I do not have full access to Windows Media Player via the start menu.

    4 restart the computer

    Step 2.
    Reinstall Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.

  • Windows Media Player 11 see only not the files on the mp3 player

Windows Media Player 11 shows all files (albums, songs) that are on my mp3 player.  She acknowledges that the 7 GB is used, but shows only a single album. Before this problem, he would show albums on the device that had been deleted. Is it possible to uninstall and reinstall WMP 11?  Alternatively, welcomed any other remedies.

Thanks for all this.  It is now time for me to show the egg on my face.  I never noticed the "Refresh devices" button under the menu of synchronization.  It proved to be that simple, but not until I had spent all my elbow several times, installed a few unsatisfactory alternatives to WMP and visited I don't know how many sites looking for a response.  Pretty well, I came across the option "refresh devices."  Promotes perseverance, I guess.

  • Windows Media Player in Vista does not work. Installation of Windows 7 Home Premium will fix the problem?

Windows Media Player does not work.  Impossible to use slide show programs, can not open attachments that require Media Player.  Tried to update and couldn't.  Couldn't fix it.

    Hello

    Run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

read the below tutorial on how to perform a repair installation

  • Windows media player import disc does not

I have windows vista and I want to play DVDs with Windows Media Player.  Everytime I put a DVD in I get error importing disk stopped working.  Do you have troubleshooting for me?

    Suzie

    Hi SusieStevens,

    (1) if it works well before?

    (2) remember to make changes?

    (3) what is the complete error message you receive?

Put the computer to boot and then check if the problem persists

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.
After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

Important: n ' forget not to put the computer to a normal startup follow step 7 in the link
