Windows media player 12 win7 stopped to load my music

Hello

Recently when I open windows media player stopped to load my music, videos and

photos. I tried the fix as tools of Microsoft without success. Also, I ran the troubleshooting

program and it detected that my library was corrupted, I tried to solve this problem by following the instructions of

The strange thing is that when I attach my external hard drive were to only keep a copy of my music, windows

Yours Sincerely,

Kenneth Dwyer.

  • Windows Media Player 12 has stopped working.

Windows Media Player 12 has stopped working. When I select an audio track and click on the play button, a red X appears next to the title in the playlist. I uninstalled and reinstalled the player, but also update the drivers. Checking the properties through the device manager says that the device is working properly, but this clearly isn't. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be welcome. As a matter of interest, itunes has stopped working at the same time. And audio tracks play fine in RealPlayer.
    Thanks in advance

  • Windows Media Player 11 has stopped playing some of my MP3s. Any ideas on how to solve this?

I have a desktop Dell Dimension running XP. I uninstalled Real Player and Rhapsody, just in case they were causing problems, but that did not work.

    Here is what I noticed:

WMP plays still files were extracted a CD, the songs that were purchased from Amazon, but not:

-The MP3s that have been purchased by third parties (for example, recordings of teleseminar I bought

-Downloaded free MP3s (once again the teleseminar recordings)

-WMA files that I downloaded (records of my seminars)

All this has played before. I can't put my finger when he started, although I think that things started to get weird when I downloaded itunes months ago, but I don't remember this particular problem from this time.

I searched the Web for similar positions, but found none.

So... any suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Thank you very much
    David

    Hello OutbackDAL,

Thank you for your message.  There is an option in iTunes to convert all the songs to the .aac format.  This might be the reason why you are not able to play in Media Player, because this format is not supported in Media Player 11.  Right click on one of the songs that can not play and check the format of the song.  If the song is the .aac format, you will need to convert it to another compatible format or .mp3.  If the song is already in a readable format, you can watch download or install a new Codec.  Sometimes, they have several players (that is to say real, Rhapsody, iTunes, etc.) can damage your Codec.  You can get the Windows Media Player Codec from the link below.
Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve your problem.

  • Windows Media Player suddenly hangs at startup-load after 5-7 minutes

No matter what I do with Windows Media Player, it will freeze at startup and leave me with the WMP window and a white space for all 5-7mins. Only after that about 5-7 minutes will be WMP finely show program.  If I open the only app without trying to play a media file, it will freeze for 5 to 7 minutes initially and display icon work. After the long wait it seems to work pretty well as long I have drag and drop a media file into the game box (that is to say, if I drag a video in the game box, it will play and I have a lot of control as usual), but as soon as I closed and reopened WMP it again. If I play a media file, as a video of any codec the player will freeze at the beginning, but always play the video without problem, I won't be able to change anything when he plays or close WMP. Windows 7 doesn't freeze, only media player. If I wait long enough it will allow me to try to close the app with X and I get the dialog box "Not responding" with this in detail (option ' Check for Solution ' is running then all of a sudden farm with no other information):

THINGS, I TRIED TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM:

    • Remove files from Windows Media Player of AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media player database - no change
    • Remove WMP Cache files to the player AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media - no change
    • Uninstall and reinstall WMP with 'Turn windows features on and out' - no change after not reinstall
    • Create a new user account with admin rights and a fresh desktop - no change, WMP freezes on other user accounts
    • Installed all the K-Lite codec pack - no change
    • Computer scanned with Kaspersky Pure for the viruses and Trojans - no change
    • Running a "clean boot" had no effect on the problem
    • Ran sfc/scannow by admin command not speedy - no change, no error found
    • Checked OS disk for errors - no change, no error

Note: I'm starting to think that there is an underlying problem, and that WMP is not the root cause, because another program I use called Sonicfire Pro, which is used to play the music video production began trolling and hang seriously when starting and trying to play music files. Windows Media Center seems to work fine, as well as all other programs I've tried so far.

    It works again!

I did nothing within Windows. I got everything disconnected from the computer and restarted afterwords with only a single monitor (I normally have two) and Windows Media Player, but also the Sonicfire Pro audio program worked flawlessly again... even with the second monitor. I can't explain how it was set, or why it did not work, but everything is back to normal now.

  • Windows Media Player does not detect files in the music folder

Original title: why Windows Media Player NOT showing my music?

So I recently got myself a new laptop, with Windows 7 Home Premium on it.

I copied my music to my desktop PC (also Windows 7) folder to the new laptop.

All the files are there in my user folder music, however, Windows Media Player absolutely refuse to recognize their existence and will NOT add them to your own library. If I navigate to the folder of the album, select a track or multiple tracks and use the context menu to perform them, which works without problem - WMP will play files.

I checked that the right folder belongs to the library.

The photos that I copied in the same way everywhere appear correctly in the 'Images' of WMP library.

After searching on the internet for answers, I came across three very common solutions either on their own or a combination of seems to work for most people:

    (1) removing all THE folders in the music library, then add the. This has no effect.

    (2) will "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player" and delete the entire contents of this folder, or the folder itself. Note that if stop/start no matter which drive Windows Media services also had no effect.

    (3) using the command line tool "attrib" to remove the attribute 'system' of all the files in the folder music.

Anyone got any ideas that are NOT ALL OF THE above MENTIONED the ELEMENTS, which may be able to help here? Otherwise, I'll move to a slightly less fussy Media Player...

In fact, as a result, that gave me an idea.

    I went to:
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries

And delete the content of this (this will remove ALL your libraries!).

Then, I used the option "restore default settings", which correctly restored by 4 default libraries. I then recreated both more personalized, I would like to have it.

Having done this, WMP now seems add my music to his library as I type this...

What version of Windows are you using?
    What version of Media Player?

Did you move all the music files recently?

Check that the music you are trying to synchronize are playable, if they are not, check their location of file to see if they are still there. You may need to re - add to the library.

  • Windows Media Player 12 will not play or burn music CDs!

Running Windows 7 Home Premium-Windows Media Player will play a DVD but will not play an audio CD, which begs the question: why it does not burn the CD using Roxio Burn (which just sits there doing nothing) just like WMP 12.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and suggestions in this forum, but nothing is done.  Microsoft has really any solution of constantly failing to player?  In addition, reinstalled my computer back to the State factory and Media Player STILL will NOT play or burn music CD.  Hello, Microsoft, I would rather download Media Player 11, which at least has worked, so tell me how to get that back.  Thank you.

    Are normally given CD detected?
If not, the problem is probably with the drive itself - CD and DVD is access differently if we wouldn't necessarily affect each other.

    2. click on start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

    Thanks for your reply.

The audio tracks I have in my playlist in Windows Media Player (which is recorded as tiny .wpl file in my music folder Windows by default) cannot be burned to a DVD using Windows DVD Maker.
