  Until a week ago, Windows Media Player and my portable device of Sanza fuse got along beautifully when sudden WMP ceased to recognize the device.  This despite the fact that the Sanza is correctly connected and appears in the personal devices from my computer.  The Sanza even shows on its screen that is connected, but it's like OMP no longer sees it?   What's happening on my machine "Windows 7 Professional (x 64)" with 8 GB of RAM and a lot of free space on the disk, so resources should not be a problem.   Method 1 fixed an issue, I've had where Media player would not start.    If I tried to play an mp3 file I get "Server error".  Bad shooting Diagnostics said my configuration was corrupted and my library was corrupt.  But it didn't fix it. Uninstall and reinstall using Windows features has not solved my problem.   With the FixIt solution, my problem has been resolved.

  the utility tells me I have no decoder... the only thing I can think is that if I actually deleted it... I rarely remove anything because I do not add a lot... but it is possible a few weeks ago, I have to get rid of some things (I'm quite cautious because I'm not an expert).   It is the Media Player version 11, I was trying to use... but I rebooted now 10 to see if there was something to update related that mess.
