Windows Media Player CD identification search became extremely reliable

Hello

I was the extraction of CD by the hundreds to my computer and other than the occasional missing album art or year of production for the last years I did this, I found the 'search' CDDB used to identify the CD, to be precise. But I've become so identification of CD now precise frustrated at the end (last 3 weeks or more) has become the exception, I would say that he received only 1 out of 10 correct, that problems are broad in their misidentification.

Since it is not able to identify anything either on the CD (all the info as unknown) to get the right artist but the bad album, i.e. all the track info is wrong, or that it identifies the album, but it appears in Chinese or Arabic, symbols or the title of the album is OK but it's by another artist , I can almost guarantee that with a 2 CD box set, he will get 1 CD right but the 2nd completely wrong and the clincher for me that something is in place is that if I insert a CD already successfully snatched made long ago that he can not re-inentify the most and that after that I know my databas personal WMP has been rebuilt from scratch after be mandated by Microsoft to resolve a different fixed an issue - you name the scenario and I will have lived this pathetic ability to identify CD. Fortunately, the info is available on the database of the AMG (CDDB), he just stopped corresponding info correctly. So my process has become now that I had to disable 'Automatic CD ripping' as I was getting just rubbish connected to the ripped CDs. Now I insert a CD to see what a mess it can automatically identify its content, I can right click the album art (or lack thereof) and select "Find album info" in the menu contextual, I may add, change or replace the 'search' the data which he filled previously and looking for the album, the 'best game' that it displays is not as far as I know, never one he chooses automatically and sometimes this "best match" is one I want to, but often I have to select the second or third game we find, or try a different search for more specific info. So I have a number of questions, firstly why the process moved from 99.9% to 90% reliable inaccurate? And on the other hand if the info is there it should be able to do a much better job of selection CD info (at least equal to the way in which he did a few weeks ago when I ripped about 100 CD without a single wrong with title, artist, or song).

Also everything that caused this problem, does not appear to be communicated Windows or WMP related, problem is cross-platform and through releases of WMP, it just seems to be the process of search for CD database that went haywire!

Fortunately for over the last 10 days, the search of the database of Windows Media Player is back to be 99.9% reliable. Due to lack of feedback from Microsoft technical support and the time when the search for the database was poor and then back to be accurate; My guess is that there is a database of monthly reorg which failed in may but has been clean in June and this problem would only be picked up by someone like me who's tearing six or CD for my PC every day, such as a glitch like this is real obvious, but user casual is not. I am so happy that the problem was temporary, but in the last month, I picked up a number of skills in the use of the database to perform the data recovery CD directed by the user when the automated process is broken!

  • Music in double Windows Media Player

my media player continues to get duplicate songs. I will delet them, and when I turn it back on media playe r my music is duplicatd and then some all over again. How can I stopt it?

    Hey Cami,

Welcome to Microsoft Community where you can find the answers related to Windows.

According to the description, it looks like Windows Media Player creates the duplicate on the music library files.

This problem occurs if the Windows Music Player library is corrupted.

I suggest you try the following methods that will help us solve this problem.

    Method 1:

I suggest you to run the troubleshooter in the Windows Media Player library.

    See the following Microsoft article.

Open the troubleshooter in the Windows Media Player library:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-library-Troubleshooter

    Method 2:

If you have only a small number of duplicate entries exist.

See the following article to remove duplicate entries from Microsoft's Windows Media Player.

Remove items from the Windows Media Player library:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/remove-items-from-the-Windows-Media-Player-library

If you have a large number of entries in doubles in your library (or if your library is duplicated), to clear the Windows Media Player database and search for the issue.

Try to clear the database of Windows Media Player. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. Click Start, click Run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click OK.
    b. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.
Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
    c. restart Windows Media Player.
Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.
If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:
    a. exit Windows Media Player.
    b. If you run Windows 7, click Start, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.
    c. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.
    d. restart Windows Media Player.
Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

Keep us informed on the status of the issue.

With the help of Windows-related issues feel free to post on the Forums of community of Microsoft and we will be happy to help you.

  • Windows media player cannot connect to the internet

He will not play some native titles to a hard drive, as it wants to update the licenses, but he proposes to update by downloading the components but then said it was impossible to connect to the internet.   My computer is internet and everything works fine, except that Silverlight will not play my Netflix if I connect my Bluetooth headset until I open it.  What can I do? I can't find the windows media player settings.  I want HP with windows 8. Core i7.

    Hi Daniel,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    • The problem is specific to some of the tracks, or all?

If you're having trouble playing a song or video, it may be because the file is protected by the management of digital rights (DRM). DRM is a technology that content providers sometimes use to ensure that the digital music and you get them video files are used and distributed according to their usage rights.

    Consider possible situations:

    a. When you try to play a file that is protected in the player, the Player checks if you have rights to use valid media on your PC. If you do, the player plays the file.

If the player does not find valid media on your PC usage rights, or if rights to limit what you can do with the file, the player can not read the file. In this case, you will see an error message tells you why the file could not be read.

    b. it is protected by rights?

    (i) slide in the right edge of the screen and then click Search (if you use a mouse, point to the corner bottom right of the screen, move the mouse to the top and then click Find.).

(ii) sign up Windows Media Player in the search box, and then tap or click Windows Media Player.

(iii) pass on any or right click on a media file, press or click Properties and then press or click the rights of use. If the file is protected by rights, the license terms appear in the media used rights box, and you will see what usage rights you have. If nothing appears in the media used rights box, it might be because the file is not protected, the usage rights are not on your PC or that you are playing a file that is being listened to on your PC (for example, you play content subscription directly from an online store website).

If the problem persists, I suggest you run the troubleshooter in Windows Media Player and check.

    a. press the Windows key + X , and then select Panel.
    (b) in the search box, type Troubleshooting , and then click on troubleshooting.
    c. click on show all and then click on settings of the Player Windows Media.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

  • Is it possible to save views with search criteria in Windows Media Player?

I have a number of research that I commonly perform in Windows Media Player. Is there a way to save these as a United library view?

Example: In the library - notice of songs, I applied the search criteria sub-genre: "Ken Burns Jazz" (I used the subgenre field to store the names of the series like that). The results show all my Ken Burns Jazz CDs. Is there a way to save this search so I don't have to re - enter criteria whenever I want to see my collection of Ken Burns Jazz?

(The above is actually a relatively easy search. "" A more complex example would be something like this: kind: "classic" NOT like: 'Classical Kids' NOT like: '' Classical Crossover '' is NOT kind: "" classical music: Soundtrack "." It's the kind of search really, I don't want to have to re - enter every time I want to use.)

    Hi WilliamWood,

There is no option to save the search in Windows Media Player. However, you can try to create playlist that would serve your purpose.

Search for the song of your choice and add this song to the playlist. Here is a link that might help you create or add songs to the playlist: create or change a regular playlist in Windows Media Player: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Create-or-change-a-regular-playlist-in-Windows-Media-Player

  • Windows Media Player takes a long time to open and search

Slow initialization of WMP 12, research and classification.

    IM under W7 Ultimate 64.
When I start WMP12 it takes much more time to initialize that WMP11 on vista, 2 minutes before I can even start by selecting music.
If I do a search it also picks up a similar amount of time and locks (graying out, slider timer). Once I have a bunch of songs loaded on the screen, say a playlist with 200 songs and then click a tab as a note it takes 30 seconds to REList per category during this time it hangs again.
I have about 40,000 songs in my library. I have rebuilt the library and the database now resides on a second disc which did not make a difference.

    (1) what someone else with similar problems and found a solution?
    (2) is it possible to replace it with WMP11 which worked perfectly and was much more intuitive?
    (3) can anyone recommend a replacement player who has gapless playback and fast database access?

    Cheer - Robb

    Hi terrahertz,

Thanks for visiting the site of the community of Microsoft Windows 7.

There could be several reasons why Windows Media Player is the initialization slowly.
Maybe you run several programs simultaneously.

We will perform a clean boot to find if any software is causing incompatibility.

    Method 1: Clean clean boot:
    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
    The user account control permission.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type
    password, or click on continue.
    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load starting points.
    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.
    5. click on OK.
    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.
    7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

If the problem is resolved to check what is the cause of the problem, referring to the link given below:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    8. in addition, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the software problem on your computer.
Reset the computer to start as usual

    9. When you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.

    10. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue. On the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    11. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

Alternatively, you can try to uninstall and reinstall Media Player.

Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall Windows Media Player:
    Step 1.
    Uninstalling Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    2. go to media features and uncheck the brand in the face of Windows Media Player.
    4 restart the computer

    Step 2.
    Reinstall Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. find the multimedia functions and place a check mark in front of the Windows Media Player.
    4 restart the computer.

    It will be useful.

  • Search for Windows Media Player is horrible

That's why when I get a song, artist and album Windows Media Player comes with 500 results? Which none have anything to do with my search, btw. I don't know why I try harder. I enter all three pieces of information, not just one.

You can try with just one word (like the artist family name)?  The reason why I'm proposing is that research is to research well more than the name of song, artist or album.  He is actually looking through the fields of data from more than 250 of which are stored in the file, and since there is so much, it matches all possible conditions in all areas in the metadata, returning several additional results that do not match.

Another way to make more concise research is to use your music library in the file Explorer.  Open your music folder, and then type in the search box at the top.  In this case, it will provide a better overview, because it highlights the key words with a yellow marker because it shows results.

  • Not possible to burn a CD with Windows Media Player

Windows Media Player in windows 7

All of a sudden CD burning became a problem. After I insert a disc in the drive, a message appears indicating that I need to insert a disc or another message will specify that windows does not detect the cd or windows media player does not detect the disc. Hello

Close WMP and all players and burn programs. Click with the right button on taskbar - task manager - process
Tab - search for WMPlayer.exe and if it COMPLETED the PROCESS on this subject.

Now stick to a CD and what happens?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

  • Windows Media Player network sharing using 33% CPU resources

Network Media Media Player sharing module chew cpu

I have a problem to use cpu similar to others on the use of the CPU window media player.  I used process Explorer tool and concluded that the wmpnetwk process was continulally with 33% of the resources of my CPU, even when the media player is started.  Media player itrself use about 20-22% cpu when it is open and put a media is underway, which is all the time. MY PC has a CPU triple heart so it is a pretty big piece of the CPU!   I tried all of the fixes suggested without result.  It is perhaps a more unique problem.  I've upgraded to Windows 7 64 vista premium 64 premium, but not to install a clean (delete all).  Found a number of problems related to the user's requests and reinstalled them.  As media player and media center are part of the operating system apparently I can't do that for them.  This JUST started happening.  Is it possible the update did something?  Also, I have a laptop with windows 7 preinstalled and won't have the same problem.  I look at this turning point multimedia and Media Player off and setting adobe media player as my default until someone can come to a better suggestion.

Quick update.  Player use and cpu just off center media and the media is back at a low level.  Remains to be seen.  Why wmpnetwk use so much cpu?

In fact, I found that my step can be a little higher and quite tedious.

You can actually do the following which allows to save time! Wmplayer.exe is responsible for managing the shared library, wmpnetwk.exe share this library on the network(Please correct me if I'm wrong here)

    1. Open Windows Media Player and remove all monitored folders and close Windows Media Player (for me Windows Media Player became unresponsive after he consumed more than 300 MB, so I closed it by force), open it again with an eye on the Windows Media Player (wmplayer.exe) process to ensure that the CPU is acceptable.
    2. Add a tracking of file in Windows Media Player.
    3. When the dialog box opens showing the progress of the files added to the library, keep an eye so it gets stuck for a long time (about 2-5 min +, normally, you will find that the memory usage begins to boost quickly) and take a note which folder/sub-folder it got stuck on. (It is a good indicator that a file in this folder may be corrupted), if the dialogue ends while watched folder has no problem.
    4. If there is a problem with step 3, close the dialog progress, remove this folder monitored, close Windows Media Player and move half the files in this folder that you noted to another folder not monitored . Repeat steps 2 through 4 until the watched folder performs its search.
    5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 until you have added all the files in Windows Media Player.

I don't know why there no code in windows media player to check if corrupted files, but it is definitely a leak memory in the application and I hope this will be corrected my Microsoft soon!

  • Windows Media Player cannot always find the info to the album by tearing or playing

I really like WMP (very flexible features, changes and types of rip)... BUT the music identification software is horrible. You type the name of an album (because it will not appear) and the search function will give you pages on visits that are not even close. You type in Santana and might get the IDS of several firsts as suite Vivaldi Saint something or other, which? Maybe on the next page of hits that you could find the album you typed in and exactly how you typed it, huh. Why wouldn't be the first shot? This search feature is how stupid? For example. I could type in Masters of Classical Music Vol.1, Mozart, and it will give me all MCM volumes but the one I want. Get rid of the vol.1 or Mozart, or both, and you have the right ID even faster, what? Many of the volumes MCM yielded no ID of classical music at all, what? Was a time, you can click Update music info. and get the ID/album art correctly most of the time. How can the system ID is worserer over time instead of better.

I tried to do some of the things I like to do with WMP NERO9 and Nero9 turned out to be much less flexible, but the Gracenote ID system has a very high success rate 99 percent to get the ID of music correctly tagged for songs and albums. AND I don't need to hunt for the news of the album that is already in the database somewhere. The version of Nero on my laptop does not burn WMA lossless or 320 kbps mp3.

So, I guess my question is, are at - it a trick to get WMP albums ID with precision and without me having to hunt through independent music lists? With no luck, I have disabled the Windows Firewall. Furthermore, this isn't a victory op sys. problem, because all oenological practices (11 or 12) of 7/Vista/XP all are terrible to find the data of the ID. I cringe every time that I try to copy a classic CD, because many times you will need to enter all the data from the massive album manually for a single tear. Data entry takes way longer than the period of investigation. Yes, it sucks. Rock albums are easier to obtain, but not always easy.  Creative, included at the same time, a software suite that was very good, but over time, they forced now to buy some of these subtleties with their sound cards.

Anyone has any ideas on this topic?

    Hi Waynesalo,
As you may know, the Microsoft answers Forum is a community of users of Windows software that contribute and answer questions to help each other. It isn't a developers or programmers (unless you want to register) forum at all. However, there are many developers and programmers forums out there that deal with more complex issues such as you pinned. If you want to dive into the more detailed questions, you can start with one of the links below:

Secondly, I understand the problem you are running into. As a DJ part-time, trying to find some hip-hop and R & B songs is almost impossible. You can watch the server so that the news of the album are pulled. If I remember correctly, you have the choice of three. I found this not have all the information I'm looking for, so I settled on a cause it's less time consuming enter my settings and change this server info each time. Now, I don't know if you have the possibility to change this information in WMP 11 or 12, I use an older version.

In addition, if you want to talk directly to Microsoft of its products, let me suggest this link:
This is a link to Microsoft Connect, where you can leave your comments to improve the Microsoft products:

    I hope this helps.
