Windows Media Player does not recognize MP3 player

I have 2 MP3 players; Version Windows Media Player 11 (WMP11) cannot "see" them: a Sansa Fuze (4 GB) and a Sansa e260 (4GB).  I have updated the firmware on both devices in MSC mode.  I * can * see these devices via 'my computer', they appear as drive F (and a mysterious car 'g' also appears when I plug devices!)  My Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop runs Windows vista, and all Microsoft updates have been executed. How do I get WMP11 to see my devices and allow me to manipulate files and sync?

Hi McTia,

(a) if it works well before? Remember to make changes to the settings of the windows media player?

(b) how you try to synchronize the items to your devices with windows media player? Automatic or manual method

Follow the steps mentioned in the link to manually synchronize items in windows media player and let us know if it helps

Sync-manually-in-Windows-Media-Player

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/sync-manually-in-Windows-Media-Player

For more information, see the link below

Set up a device to sync in Windows Media Player

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/set-up-a-device-to-sync-in-Windows-Media-Player

If you connect two MP3 players, there are two disks with drive letters different (probably F and G depending on your hard drive partition).

You can check if the MP3 devices works fine on another computer.

Thank you, and in what concerns:

  • Windows Media Center does not recognize an Entone Hydra box/remote control cable

I'm putting in place the WMC to work with my cable box Entone. It's not satellite, this is the area used by CCC Southslope in Eastern Iowa. There is no section Entone for activation of the box, automatic remote recognition does not take into account. When I try to teach my cable remote codes manually it will "key to continue" but never moves from the teaching of the 1 button for button 2.  I am sure that the IR receiver works and is properly plugged in, and that the batteries in the remote are fresh.

Make sure the distance between the IR receiver and the remote control is quite close, there are no obstacles between the two and the whole set up is not under the direct fluorescent light.

  • Windows Media Center does not record the calendar.

Planning to record a program, but sometimes lapsed time up to the point where it does not record. I am running Windows 7 Home. Yes, I checked preferences but which differs only up to 15 minutes max.  I have reinstalled twice already. Why please?

    Hello

    (1) did you make any changes before the show?

    (2) what is the brand and model of the computer?

Windows Media Center records the first home run HD programs or any which TV tuner installed. However, you may need to follow a few rules.

-If you turn off your computer, Windows Media Center does not have a regular program. The computer must be turned on or "standby mode" to record a television show. The computer will not automatically in standby mode if Windows Media Center is open.

-Make sure that you turn off the screen and lower or turn off the sound if you have one at the request of a record in the middle of the night and don't want to be disturbed.

-Your scheduled recording may not save in the following situation: schedule you a recording in Windows Media Center to start in less than ten minutes, close Windows Media Center and put your computer into standby or hibernation mode immediately. Use or one of the following options to save your record programmed:

    a. do not close Windows Media Center before you put your computer on standby or hibernation.
    b. after having programmed a recording, wait a minute before you put the computer in standby or hibernation.

  • WINDOWS MEDIA 7 DOES NOT, NO SOUND, NO VIDEO, NO VIDEO GAMES.

Help! I have Windows 7 and I have some speakers, they where works perfectly until I got home from work. There is no sound coming out of speakers, or anything really because I tried with headphones so mi. It seems that my little brother bought himself some new headphones and plugged them into the computer and its does not work since then. Well, the thing is that I tried to play some videos on youtube and they play not so little game but for a certain period of time (such as 5 to 7 seconds) then they stop completely. It's the same with windows media player, only the diference is that it plays any, it just stays there. I tried to play a video game (FIFA13) and it laggs a lot when a video is played (intro) and then crashes.

I had this problem before, but I forgot how to tackle. And by the way all my drivers are up to date and my computer detects all my cards.

Do you get any sound apart from WMP?

It seems you need to do by default as peripheral speakers .

    1. Click Start , then type sound in the search field.
    2. In the search results, click sound in the list programs.
    3. In the Audio window, select your playback device and click the set as default button.
    4. The default playback device selected, click on the Configure button.
    5. Click on your type of configuration of the speakers in the Audio channels .
    6. Click the Test button to send sound to each speaker, or click on a speaker to send his individual him.
    7. If the sound is of course of each speaker, you are finished.

  • Windows Media Center does not work when on a remote desktop session

I have just Setup Remote Desktop on my local server and connected my laptop... whew that was a task in itself!

Server - Windows 7 Ultimate w/Media Center installed

Laptop - Windows 8 Pro w/Media Center installed

I am able to run the Windows Media PLAYER on the remote desktop, and it seems to work fine after that I added the libraries to it.

    BUT

When I run Windows Media CENTER I get a message that "Windows Media Center has stopped working... Windows is checking for a solution to the problem. "The message goes away and that's it.

Anyone got any ideas on how I can get the WMC to operate on remote desktop?

Not very well why this would be considered as a matter of "ITPro.

It's probably debatable that MS really intended for MC to be used via RDP, I'm not sure they believed that the feature has been used very well at all judging by what they were doing in Windows 8

However, there are two possibilities on the cause of this. An update of the RDP client can be the culprit, but it is not always a good idea to block any update.

You can also the following reg key

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\Rdp-Tcp

added needs of the user group have included in its read access permissions. You can also use the run as Administrator option when you start Media Center.

  • Windows media player11 does not play files mp4 video

videos made with a cell phone based on windows.

    Hi ALMar Boone

You may need to install the correct codec to play the file. Windows Media Player and other programs use the codec to play and create digital media files.

You can use the links below and check out them if you get the necessary codec to download depending on the type of file, you try to play.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/316992

You can also use your favorite search engine to download and install a codec based on the file type, you must use.

NOTE- Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Windows Media Center will not recognize TV tuner Digital stations live

I am trying to display and record all my content from TV on my laptop using my hybrid analog/digital TV tuner card. So far, the WMC recognizes the analog content. But my cable provider provides many channels of ClearQAM I can see on my TV without a decoder, just using the QAM tuner in the TV. My tuner card is supposed to recognize the QAM signals, so I should be able to view all unencrypted content (users) that comes through the coaxial feeder on my portable tuner. But no luck so far. When I set up the TV signal in WMC, the menu only listed setup analog cable my cable box, even though I know that my cable company provides digital content.
I had actually upgraded my Windows Media Center to include the TV pack (downloaded from Engadget) but even this last version does not recognize digital channels. If I try to change the Program Guide and add them manually, all I get is static when I select the. I am at a loss to know what to do next. Is this a problem that should fix a new TV tuner? I heard good things about the AverMedia card, maybe I should just go that route? Can anyone recommend a new tuner card?

  • Windows 7 Ultimate does not recognize the Tungsten E2

After that I've upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows does not recognize my Tunsten E2 cable into the USB port.  I went to Device Manager to search for a triangle in order to use Aceeca.  However, there is no triangle.

I tried using a USB key into the USB port and it worked perfectly.  However, when I tried my cable of tungsten, it's as if nothing happened in the USB port.  No recognition by Windows at all.

Any viable solution would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi WyreNut,

FYI: I got it working.  However, there are a few things that had to be done.

    1. clean unlock it.

    2. go to regedit and make sure that all records of palm have disappeared.

    3. after cleaning regedit, I cleaned the registry again.

    4. disconnected from the USB port.

    5. restarted my computer.

    6. USB connection back into the port.

    7. follow the signs to Aceeca.

    8. everything works.

    Have a great week.
