Windows media player is lagging after reactivation when I try to play HD videos!

When I wake up my pc in mode 'sleep' and trying to open HD (h.264 or whatever he calls mov) video my computer freezes, shifts and so on WMP12 starts with the high CPU usage no video or anything that could be done... just unusable... my mouse lag... can restart only! After I restarted my laptop my hd videos play fine, but as soon as I put my pc on wake and mode 'sleep' to the top of my habit of hd videos more play.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I tried sfc/scannow 'he says Windows did not find any breach of integrity resources .

Try the methods below and let me know if this helped.

Method 1: Set the hard drive to stop a minute or 2 before sleep.

1. click on the Start button and select Control Panel.
2. click the Power Options icon.
3. click on the link Edit plan settings under your power plan. (See screenshot below)

NOTE: This will allow power options that are grayed out to work now and not be gray.

6. now click on the button "+" next to the hard drive.
Now set the time if that hard drive goes to sleep 1 or 2 minutes before going to sleep.

Method 2: Perform the clean boot your computer.

From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

To perform a clean boot on a computer, follow these steps.

1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.
5. click on OK.
6. When you are prompted, click on restart.
7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

Please follow the system in the boot environment. If the problem does not occur, it indicates that the problem is related to an application or a service, we have disabled. You can use the MSCONFIG tool again to reactivate the disabled one by one element to find the culprit.

If your issue is resolved, follow the how to determine what is causing the problem section in KB article to narrow down the exact source.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 . In addition, refer to the section on how to restore your computer to a Normal startup mode

Hope this information is useful.
Let me know if it worked.

Thank you, and in what concerns:

If VLC can't play the file, it can be owner or damaged. In addition, VLC should have no problem with a standard DVD playback.

You can always try to convert it.

Freemake Video Converter is one of the most recommended video converters to help users to convert their SOURCE of videos in WMV. Freemake Video Converter is extremely easy to use, but there are a few ' opt-out ' the software provided with the installer that makes the user nervous. I have also provided some screenshots on just how it is easy to convert your videos into WMV.

  • Windows Media Player is lagging during the game and songs to jump.

Just today, my Windows Media Player started acting odd. When I play a song, it will appear to freeze, but after 5 seconds or so, it starts to play. It's the same thing when to jump tracks. She also takes about 5-10 seconds to stop playback when I hit the break. When it does not freeze, he says 'Changing Media' in the lower left corner. This problem does not occur when I use a reading list, it is quite normal, it doesn't seem to be a problem when reading my library. I don't have any problems with other media players, such as iTunes or VLC player.

I've been looking for a solution online and most of the people with a very similar problem to mine fixed by disabling audio enhancements, but this has not worked for me. This problem has just appeared from nowhere. The only recent change to my computer is a new keyboard, a Logitech G15. I've hung yesterday evening and was listening to music without any problem. But when I turned on my computer today, I was greeted with this problem. I plugged my old keyboard, thinking that he could be the problem, but still no solution.
I'm out of ideas. Any idea of what the solution may be? If this can help, my computer running an AMD Phenom II X processor 4 955 with 8 GB of RAM and my sound is crossing a Radeon 6850 through HDMI on my monitor.
    Thanks for any help.
    [EDIT]
I just noticed that Windows Media Player stops is when I close. The window closes, but I can always see it used in the process, and I have to close it it so that it can turn off completely. Do not know what is causing that.

Nevermind, I finally thought to it. The software for the keyboard activated something called "windows media player gadget for windows sideshow. This seems to be causing the lag. I went to the Windows Sideshow and disabled options program for my keyboard.

    Hi Joseph,

What is the file format of the file you are trying to download?

This problem normally occurs when the Media player could not play the file downloaded or not supported.

    Method 1:

Step 1: Here is the list of the formats supported by Windows Media player file:

Information on the types of media files that supports Windows Media Player:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/316992

Note: See if the file format is in this list, if it is not there, you may need a third-party codec that can read the file.

Step 2: For more information about codecs, see article given:

    Codecs: Frequently asked questions:

When I want to burn a CD in Windows Media Player, it shows "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem when burning the file to disk".    What's wrong? How to fix?

I tried several times to remove the selection to burn and create a new a new but it keep "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem when burning the file to delivery" appears what should I do?   What problem is it?

    Hello

    1. what file format you are trying to burn?

    2. have you made changes on the computer recently?

    3. What is the security software installed on the computer?

If it's something you downloaded, it may be copy protected by DRM, in which case you may not burn it to a CD or DVD.

Here are a few things to try:

    1. make sure that the disc is clean.

    2. try a different brand of blank discs.

    3. stop all other programs that are running.

    4. make sure that the hard drive does not use disk compression.

I suggest that you follow these steps and check if they help to solve the problem.

    Method 1:

Try to use the Troubleshoot utility to see if that solves the problem.

    a. open the troubleshooting Windows Media Player settings Troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel.

    (b) in the search box, type "convenience store" and then click Troubleshooting.

    c. click on show all and then click the Windows Media Player settings.

    Method 2:

Select a recording speed (write) more slow for the CD burner.

Change settings for burning a CD or DVD in Windows Media Player

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/change-settings-for-burning-a-CD-or-DVD-in-Windows-Media-Player

    Method 3:

If you have any third-party burning software, I suggest you temporarily Uninstall it and then try to burn the disc using Windows Media Player.

Note: Reinstall the software after the trial.

    Method 4:

Temporarily disable all programs that could activate themselves, while burning is in progress, such as screensavers or anti-virus programs.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Run the computer without antivirus software or firewall is a potential threat to the computer; Be sure to activate security software after completing the troubleshooting steps and after identifying the problem.

    I hope this helps.
