Windows Media Player is Making My Music Sound odd.

OK, so WMP 12 did something weird. When I try to play audio files (I do it a LOT when I'm writing, because it helps me to stay focused), ANY way, and ALL my music plays, but it seems really, really... I don't know how to describe it. Imagine the sound of car speakers that were blown because of loud music, but the person who always leads it plays on the speakers anyway. It's really a rumbly. I tried to play video files, which work very well, and I tested my speakers to ensure that they are not the problem. I even unplugged them, check and used headphones to check if the plug is the question (it is not the question).

Short to uninstall then reinstall the drive, I am short of options or ideas. I'm the only one who had this problem? Or I'm not alone in this case? A quick response would be much appreciated.

Hi K

Let's just try the first obvious. Your 'improvement' settings been changed inadvertently?

Listen to a song and the player mode 'now playing' (rather than 'library'), right-click in the pane, and you should see the drop-down list display of "improvements".

Place the cursor on that and click on one of the options. You will then get a box with the different sound settings, you can scroll the equalizer... and wow settings are the most obvious check (and preferable to leave 'off' in my opinion!)

If this isn't the case we will need to look at other possibilities.

A soon R

  • Manufacturing of Windows Media Player ".". WMA files"sound like a scratched CD

Windows Media Player has recently started playing all back '. " WMA files"as they were damaged / scratched CD being played.  But when I take these same files to another program of reading, they play perfectly.

When I start to read the file, I see the message "Change the media" and this may take a few seconds to more than a minute before the file actually starts to play.  Random playback when audio will jump sometimes, exactly in the same way he could play a scratched CD.  It repeats or taking a break before you continue reading.

Then when it arrives near the end of the runway, HE STILL blew.

After playing with it I finally understood that the jump at the end of each track has been the program of preparation for playback of the next track.  Because, when the next track begins to play there is no delay in reading.  But if I manually change the track then I get the message 'Change media' and delay important.  I think that the two are linked.

As I said before, it started a few weeks ago and occurs only with Windows Media Player.  I in other audio programs, IE. Creative, don't do that.

Furthermore, to the best of my knowledge nothing new has been added to WMP, IE. New Plugins, etc.

Any ideas on what is the cause and how to fix.

    Thank you

    Hello

The problem happens only when you play wma files?

Disable audio enhancements and see if that fixes the problem.

    a. open peripheral Audio and sound themes by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, hardware and sound, and then clicking sound.
    b. on the playback tab, click speakers and then click Properties.
    c. click the enhancements tab, and then check Disable all improvements.

If you do not see the enhancements tab in the speakers Properties dialog box, these features are not available for your speakers, and this procedure is not applicable to the
    your computer.

If disabling audio enhancements solves the audio problem you are having, this indicates usually that your audio driver needs to be updated. If disabling audio
improvements do not solve the problem, contact your computer manufacturer for assistance.

  • Windows Media Player will not play music files - need to reset the file path

I'm trying to access my music on an external drive (g) using windows media player. The player is looking for music in the E: drive, which is a separate external drive that my friend uses for its iTunes. How to reset the path to the file for windows media player? It gives me the possibility of rerouting individually paths files, but not a lot of re - routing. I have reset the default settings, reinstalled the drive external, even enabled/activated on WMP (of the Panel).

I tried. The drive G:\ was included in the WMP library before this problem (and to make sure, I deleted and added it). Despite this, the paths for each song pointed toward the drive E:\.  I solved the problem by deleting all of your WMP library (not files) and restart the media player. The files were then reread with the correct file paths.
