  It seems that Apple QuickTime is maybe at fault...
  have you recently installed QuickTime? If_Yes... maybe
  uninstalling QuickTime is worth a try.

  Would it be possible to do a system restore to a

• I can't publish a file using Windows Movie Maker despite after every single step and instruction

  I use Windows Movie Maker c. 5.1. (Build 2600) on a computer running Windows XP Professional 2002, SP 3. I try to publish a movie file which is a revised version of a WMV file. In other words, the original file is a file WMV is 534 MB.  I am editing the film by dividing and by deleting scenes, adding transitions and titles.  I am able to save the file (for a WMM file) but impossible to publish the movie.  I checked that (i) the files are in the correct location, (ii) the file does not exceed the limit of 4 GB, (iii) the destination does not exist (I tried everything from my desktop to video files).  I tried every possible resolution and the file type.

  I would change the software of movie at this point if I had not invested so much energy and time behind this project.  Help, please!

  Hello not happy with WMM,

  You get an error message when you try to publish?  If so, what is it?

  One thing you might try is breaking your video into 3 or 4 smaller sections and see if they work / will be published separately.

• Film shot in Windows Movie Maker crashes after 6 seconds during playback in Windows Media Player

  I have a film created (1 minute, 20 seconds) in Windows Movie Maker of two short videos to YouTube.  The original files were .mp4 files and I converted the .wmv files.  I cut 7 seconds since the start of the first video and just linked the two original videos into one.  No special effects.  Plays well in Windows Movie Maker.  Save the file as an .mswmm file (required by Movie Maker) and then published as a .wmv.  When I play it in Windows Media Player, he plays for 6 seconds, then freezes, but the bottom bar is moving, as if he is playing.  I tried to do the same thing without clipping 7 seconds from the beginning - same result.  I used WINFF (free Converter).  Any ideas?  Thanks for your help.

  1. what happens when you try to play the files with Windows Movie Maker?

  This problem can be caused by codecs supporting not the file that you created. If you use a converter, I suggest that you convert the files to MPEG format and verify if you are able to play the files.

• Windows Movie Maker crashes when publishing in any form.

  I was using Windows Movie Maker to make a photo slideshow. I tried to post it on my computer, but it will crash. With active DEP, Windows prompted me that DEP has closed the program. When I disabled DEP, it does not work too.

  I use Windows Movie Maker (comes with windows) on a Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 (32 bit). It runs on OEM computer laptop with AMD Turion x 64 processor. I disabled all of the codecs listed in the tools > Options > Compatiability, but it still does not work. All solutions?

  I don't have a lot of software on my computer. I reinstalled windows and it works. I try to upgrade to windows vista service pack 2 and see if it still works.

• Windows Movie maker crashes all the time on Windows 8!

  Just try to use Movie Maker on Windows 8 to make a DVD of my vacation and my files are stored on my NAS to format AVCHD (MTS) and I have a lot of files on the project (100 +).  I can see that the files are placed in a temporary folder, but I now have the following in the event viewer whenever I try to edit the videos or even just play a preview:

  Run the Intel® driver update utility (you need Java to run it) to get the latest driver for the graphics device Intel (r) in your computer
  It displays a list of detected drivers like this
  Search for graphics Intel (r) (or something similar) with the download now button and download & install them
  That should fix it, but I recommend download & install all drivers with download now button

  I suggest that you put your computer in a clean boot state and check if there is another program that is causing the Windows Movie Maker to freeze.

  If there is no specific program that causes this problem, then please uncheck the program since the start of the System Configuration utility.

  (2) what is the format of the file, which you try to publish a movie?
  (3) remember you to make changes to the computer before the question?

  ·        You are able to import another file without any problem format?

  Try to import another file type (format) and check if the problem persists.

   

  Step 1:

  Damaged codec is often a cause of crashes with Windows Movie Maker and Windows DVD Maker.

  If possible, use a program to convert your Windows Media movies first and then try to import it.

  In Windows Movie Maker HELP "FOR THE DURATION of the CHANGE" 2. ' "says to" select title you want to change the duration. How to "choose" the title? The title as a RECOVERY when the arrow is hovering a square bubble appears showing the title and 6.7 seconds. No trim handles appear. A high blue and the low line components appear, but I don't know what that means because it is not graphic design help pages. • I created a movie in movie maker xp - how to access the movie with Windows movie maker 7?

  I want to access the movie file and continue working on it.  Movie Maker (MM) W7 does not open my movie file 1-1/2 years.

  I have a new PC with W7 - I also tried to open MM in virtual XP mode. No luck. There is an MM program in XP mode, but it does not open.  I was charged correctly MM in XP mode from the internet. Loaded, it does not open.

  Is there a way to convert the file MM XP to W7 MM? Much time was spent in a series of films when I was with my old PC with XP and I'm guessing that the XP of MM version now I can't access the files!

  No guarantee but something you could try...

  There are two older downloadable versions of Movie Maker
  that will run on Windows 7... Maybe one of them would be open
  your. MSWMM Movie Maker project file. (you do not have XP
  Mode for these)

  And... you must have copies of 'all' (Photos source files,
  Video clips, Audio clips that were in the project). If you are
  success by opening the project file... you will see red Xs.

  Right-click the Xs and navigate to the location where you
  saved the source files to restore the path.

  (FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
