http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-performance/Windows-Update-Diagnostic/c12daa70-FACC-484f-BEB4-9c254bb07a06

I am following up on posting, I published last month which has not been resolved & without others responses took place in recent weeks, so I am initiating a new post to see if anyone has any suggestions.

I can say that my machine works despite the result given by the diagnosis of WINDOWS UPDATE utility.  Is that what all I should do in light of the results of the previous announcement or any simply do not take into account the results?

Thanks for your effort

Recently, I tried to run updates on my PC and it initially had issues where the download would be stuck on 0% and never download anything, if the download would be 100 MB or a 1 bit is important.

I ran the update of Windows Diagnostic Toolkit and constantly got an error/problem with code 0 x 80070057 and now since then I can't even check the updates of windows. When I run the windows update tool from the system setting it'll just "load" at all times and don't get any where...

I am very very frustrated by this issue and would really help if someone else encounter similar issues, or a team em directly since it is a question of bad that I can't even run a check for updates when they are meant to be so important for the safety of my OS...

  • Problem installing KB980408 - set up the parameters for custom: Windows Desktop Update

After installing KB980408, the computer restarts, goes through the normal boot process, displays the Windows logo, and then goes to a black screen with a window:

    Custom settings

Implementation of the custom settings for:

    The Windows Desktop Update

and stay on it indefinitely (4 + hours so far). Moving the mouse on the screen shows the circular cursor "wait", and I am able to move the window around; I am also able to start the Task Manager and restart, but that's all.

So I thought another reboot may solve the problem, but it doesn't... it keeps just hung to this window.

No matter who else affected by it, or have solutions to try?

I had this same problem on both machines. During his connection, this behavior began immediately after the KB980408 update has been installed. The solution I found is to ctrl + alt + delete, start taskmgr and kill the task of custom settings. Then you have to manually run explorer.exe (file--> Run--> Explorer.exe) and windows should load as usual. The next time that I rebooted and logged in Windows loaded as usual. I'm guessing that this problem is a "run once" task. However, updates are not supposed to make your computer more stable?

  • Vista - Windows Live Update problem

I have a problem installing the components of Windows Live Essentials.  I managed to install by email.  Now, I try to add a few other components.  I get a window saying: "We must take care of some things first" - "install Windows Platform Update.  I thought I already did.  In any case, I click on the link 'get Windows Platform Update' and am presented with instructions that tell me to go run "Windows Updates" and view the updates available.  Because I am running Windows Vista, he said I should run "Update platform for Windows Vista (KB971644)".  However, there is no update platform listed at all.

What should I do?  If anyone can offer a suggestion, would you also send me an email with your suggestion (s)? E-mail address is removed from the privacy * thank you very much.

  • Hello having a problem updating to windows 10 Aspire Z3620

    Hello

IM new here and having a problem update from 8.1 to windows 10. Stuck at 84% and having to roll back to 8.1

I have read that I need to update the BIOS during which I checked and there is a newer version, but I really don't want to do without notice or advice of an expert.

ROM file contains the BIOS file, BACK and WIN files contains the software for the BIOS flash file.

Normally, the BACK is safer but is not really a big difference.

If something goes wrong, there is a recovery operation to make but it is only available on service manual.

Problems of updates Windows XP - how to fix the incorrect Windows XP updates KB2633952 keep asking to install? True, it is that it is already installed on your computer. If hide us, an another previous KB2570791 arises in our updates of Windows and asked to install anything, that it was installed... of the questions repeated and very annoying.  Help, please!

(Microsoft Answers just sent us message have deleted our previous thread, ask for help!) We are simply not that these problems are problems with Windows XP updates related to DST or not?)

Nadia. PA supporter said that your computer is hacked. He may be right. I can't weigh because I don't know what led him to this conclusion. If your computer is hijacked, then you should address that more that you need to fix this minor update. However, under the resolution of your problem to update, you can try this:

    Assume Windows XP

Check the C:\Windows\System32\ directory for the presence of the file tzchange.exe

If the file is not present or if the version of the file is not 5.1.2600.6171 or newer...

Download the update appropriate 2633952 for your platform here:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2633952

Run with - extract switch (e.g., Start > run > "[path to the downloaded file] \WindowsXP-KB2633952-x86-ENU.exe"-x)

Of course, replace [path to the downloaded file] with the path to the downloaded file.

Citations may or may not be required depending on the path. Place the x - out the citations if you use them.

Choose a location for the extracted files (a new folder is recommended)

Locate the extracted files. File tzchange.exe you want and copy it into C:\windows\System32

That rerun Windows Update detection to see if the problem is resolved.

Use the function "restore" to restore your system to a point before installing optional updates in windows.

After that, go to Windows Update and 'hide' the update that caused the problem.
