Windows problem with projector with VGA cable mode.

I'm under M4600 with Windows 7 Enterprise and a Nvidia Quadro 1000 m Video card

Problem is when I connect VIA HDMI or USB to our conference projectors I have full functions.  I can expand, while double. We have two conference rooms that have only a VGA connection the minute I connect to them that I have to choose between the projector or my laptop. If I try to extend the flicker of the screen and then my desktop shows only. If I try and duplicate, I get the same results.

I am grateful for the spotlight and if I have the computer identify the watch the two monitors 1 and 2 on my laptop computer desktop.

I hope it's make sense. Please ask any questions you want.

Windows updates are pushed by companies. the video drivers are up to date and I reduced the resolution on laptop and projector individually and together.

Any help would be appreciated. I think I've exhausted all my options

Hey Joe,

According to the description of your problem, it seems to occur on a computer that running Windows 7 Enterprise connected to a domain environment

Since you are not faced with the question when you plug the HDMI or USB cables on the projector, it could be related to VGA connections to the projector.

However; This problem occurs on a domain environment, I suggest you get in contact with the network administrator to check the connections.

If you want more help from Microsoft, the question you posted would be better suited for the IT Pro TechNet public. I would recommend posting your query in the TechNet Forums to get help:

  • Problems with the Display Mode target on end 2009 27 "iMac

Used late 2009 iMac 27 "in the view target in conjunction with a Dell XPS tower with i7 processor, Windows 7 and the best graphics card I could afford at the time connected by HDMI to mini display port cable.  Worked well for years.  Set aside Dell for a few months and the update of the iMac to El Capitan OS 10.11.3.  Recently tried old setup with same Dell PC and was able to move from Mac to PC, but the PC screen resolution was at the lowest setting. I got an error message when enabling/disabling to PC who said there was a problem with the port causing mini display of the system back to the lowest resolution. Impossible to reset at a higher resolution.

I tested the Dell PC on another monitor, and it works very well at higher resolution (2560 X 1440). Now, when I reconnected it to the iMac (which works fine), the screen becomes black.

Is it possible that the operating system upgraded (El Capitan) is not compatible with the targets using mini display port Display Mode?  Any ideas?

Use your iMac as a display with the target - Apple Support Display Mode , also consider having a bad cable or connection. Does not hurt to try different cables, they can and will the bad!

  • laptop connected to an external monitor with vga cable issues?

    1The votefavorite

I use a Sony Vaio e series laptop running windows 7 Home premium 64-bit, which I always connect to an external monitor with a VGA cable.

I put graphics options to display only on the external monitor and I would like to close the lid of the laptop. In the power settings I put it do nothing when the lid closes.

When it is connected to the external screen I am able to look at the screen very well if the lid of the laptop is open. But whenever I close the lid, the display on the external monitor is turned off.

I have tried everything I can think of as the use of a keyboard to toggle the display, change the plan to plug the monitor off before and after and even more, to much to list etc.

I actually did it on my HD TV using a Hdmi cable that allows me to close the lid. But I want to use it only on my monitor that is sadly only VGA.

I know I'm not alone here, I found many forums on the same issue, but nobody seems to have an answer. It is always with the help of a VGA cable when I find others with the same problem.

Does anyone know where a response?

It seems either VGA may be quite old now since the introduction of HDMI, that Microsoft has not bothered to look on this or get out an update to resolve this issue. Sorry it's just very frustrating because cannot find an answer, and I don't like the laptop overheating or wasting money on energy.

    (1) right click on your power Option icon on the taskbar

    (2) will take you to Options below

    Control Panel:

Choose what closing the lid"this choice is the 3rd in your list of choices

The next screen will allow you to configure your choice:

    When I close the lid:

    On battery: do nothing and

    Plugged in: Do nothing

This will prevent your system/video to go to sleep or stopping

    Hope this helps

  • Problem with the cable on PC with usb54g wireless network

I have a pc with a usb54g interface that communicates very well with my wrt54g2 router.  The router is 192.168.1.1 (default), and the pc has a static (wireless) address of 192.168.1.10.  My problem just is whenever I try to connect to one of the connections on the pc to a switch 100base2.  (The 100baseT interface is on 192.168.2.1).

Whenever I turn on the switch, I lose my connection to the IP address that my satellite modem has attributed to the 'internet' on the wrt54g2 interface.  I am running Windows XP, SP3 on the pc.  Can I fix my problems with the installation of the network in the windows GUI, or should I change my command prompt routing tables?  I suspect that, when I get an address for one network other than that the pc is aware, he is trying to use the interface that he thinks is faster, obviously wired LAN.   I apologize in advance if this has already been covered on the forum.

You can do this by using the GUI under Windows by changing the metric parameter of the interface under the advanced part of the configuration of the connection network GUI.

See this LINK for more information:

Maybe the cable that you are using. I have not yet test, but perhaps could be the problem:

some "aux-in" accepts only stereo or mono or both, I'm not sure. try to use the original Sony first helmet. also compare it with your cable to the.

on some cases, if the cable is mono, what I've done, it's not not to insert the plug completely. (see the second image) in this way, the right of the mono channel will sit properly on the right channel of the stereo-in.

  • Windows XP with Virtual PC mode will not be installed / two problems

    Hello!
I have Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) and I want to follow the instructions here:

    https://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Virtual-PC/Download.aspx?runGenuineCheck=true&system=5&lang=4&ButtonClicked=winXpMode

to install and run Virtual PC so I can see if some legacy XP software I have will work.

FYI, I use a Lenovo W520 laptop with an i7 to 2.4 ghz with 8 GB of RAM.

I followed step 1/2 and downloaded the file of 500 MB for Windows XP Mode.  I installed it.

: #1 there is a note at the bottom of the page that says "once you have installed Windows XP Mode, click the Windows 7 start button, then select all programs > Windows Virtual PC > Windows XP Mode to begin the installation." For more information about how to configure Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode, see "Running Windows XP Mode with Windows Virtual PC" on page Support and videos . "

I am looking at the view of all programs and there is absolutely nothing that says "Windows Virtual PC" or "Windows XP Mode".  I look at the programs and features in the control panel and indeed, Windows XP mode is installed (and taking up 1.13 GB).  I have uninstall and re-download the 500 MB file and reinstall it.  It is not always appear in the sight of all programs, does not add an icon to my bar quick launch or desktop or anything that suggests a way to start.  It is located in C:\Program Files\Windows XP Mode, but there is no executable file it.

Problem #2: Step 3 says "Download Windows Virtual PC".  When I click on this button, the download starts, but never works (I tried several times, notably after a clean reboot, with nothing other than the execution of Internet Explorer); I get an error window that says:

    Windows Update Standalone install

Setup has encountered an error: 0 x 80070422

The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices is associated to him.

    What's not?

    Thank you.

Notes; After the announcement of this issue, some Associates questions skipped upward and I read through them.  Points of a post on this forum-> http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/8247-windows-xp-mode-install-setup.html , which suggests that the #2 problem is my problem because I followed along until ste #5-E and then I get the error message 0 x 80070422.

    PROBLEM-

My TV displays a picture of sorts however we jumpy/fragile & show three (vertical) versions of the same image on my TV.  Black & white, its sometimes a offline.

I have the wires on connected TV where I got my Wired Xbox, the option on my TV to input is the component, when I turn on my laptop & the entry has the value component that I see the image on the screen & clearer, however, after logging in screen disappears & said that there is no signal.  The only way I can see anything either again is by ctrl, alt & del.

If I switch to AV2 on the choice of appetizer menu on my TV, it shows the description of the jumpy/fragile image, ctrl alt del - although the picture improves slightly & is not fragile, its still very black & white & duplicated in three patrs.

    Any help would be appreciated?

    Thanks in advance
