• Window Edit-bookmark truncated, so cannot bookmark

  I use Firefox on XP & Ubuntu for many years.
  I have more than 3,000 bookmarks in a lot of cases, this is not new for me.
  I just installed Ubuntu 11.10 / found Firefox version 9.0.1
  When I try to add a new bookmark to the second star-click, Edit-bookmark window opens OK, but when I try to select a folder in the drop-down list, then the window is truncated at the bottom and to the right.
  Clicking on a target folder it says OK but I can't see any button to confirm, so nothing is saved in the correct folder.
  All attempts end in unsorted bookmarks.

  You can of course choose a smaller value than the 60em I posted, but at least you can see that it worked.
  
  You can also add a height (or min-height) so that needs to be adjusted.
  
  I don't know what value is necessary for height, so just experiment to see what works (try 20em or 25em).

• Backup Windows corrupted bookmarks to Internet Explorer!

  Can someone help with this problem? I am running Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8 on my HP Pavilion.   I recently performed a backup on an external hard drive (WD Passport) by using Windows backup - it seemed to go OK, but when I open the Internet Explorer browser, 702 favorites were gone!  Worse yet, I can't even create a new favorite with 'Add to Favorites' more.

  I know that the files are still there as I see the computer C:\Users\Helen\Favorites in but for some reason any IE8 has ceased to recognize their (and stopped allowing me to create new ones).

  Ironically, if I open Firefox, it picked the IE8 Favorites!

  It's really annoying - someone has any suggestions how to fix it?  I even tried looking in the registry (as advised on a forum of Microsoft), but the path of the shell for Favorites folders seems to be OK (C:\Users\Helen\Favorites)

  I googled all kinds of sites but impossible to find a solution - HELP!

  Hello PurpleHelen, you can try using a restore point Windows at a time before problems appear.

  If this does not resolve the problem, you could try to export your FireFox bookmarks to a location on your hard drive and then open Internet Explorer and try to import these exports FireFox favorites.

• Bookmarks do NOT open in a browser window click on the "show all bookmarks".

  Currently using Firefox 30.0.3 Mac OS 10.9.5. When I tried to modify my collection of bookmarks buy opening the "show all bookmarks" in the drop down menu, nothing happened. Usually, this opens a new tab or window with bookmarks is displayed. Then I searched HELP and tried all the solutions without success. Where the topic of aide said even a Bookmarks window will open, this isn't. I have no way to edit or delete massively outdated bookmarks. Yes, I can do so individually through the bookmark button in the toolbar - what a pain in the ___s.

• Auto-effondrement in the library window and the dialog "change a bookmark this ', the last folder expanded

  The process of "bookmark all tabs" apparently has recently changed. The window "New bookmark" that opens after choosing ' bookmark all tabs "does not make clear what needs to be done now to save all open tabs. It was a simple matter of just to name the folder. Now, it's not not clear to me that parts of the pop-up window must be filled to actually get the tabs open bookmarks instead of just get an empty folder called [name of folder].

• How can you save a bookmark in a folder in one step?

  I use Firefox for years and just upgraded to the latest version. I already have a bunch of folders of bookmarks created.

  My first problem was when I chose 'Choose' to scroll through my folders and choose which one I want to save the page to, it took me rather to the unsorted bookmarks folder. The only other options in this window were Bookmarks Toolbar and Menu bookmarks, and any of the three to take me to a list of my bookmark folders when I click on them.

  After playing with him, now it only gives me even this choice when I click the icon in the bookmarks toolbar, it just saves the page to Favorites not sorted automatically.

  I know that I can go and organize bookmarks after the fact, but it seems a bit ridiculous to have first save it to a location of reserved space. I have not found this dealt with in the FAQ of bookmarks, so I hope someone can ' splain to me how to solve this problem.

  When you select 'Bookmark this Page', a small window titled "Bookmark Page.

  I know how to take Windows 7 bookmarks (firefox) and put them in another windows machine. I know that for import into Ubuntu, I open firefox on Ubuntu (already pre-installed).   You need transfer file backup of bookmarks from your Windows PC to your PC Ubuntu - perhaps by emailing yourself or copy it to a USB key. Once you have done this, here's how to copy (import) in Firefox on Ubuntu:

  1. Click the Bookmarks button

     

     then select show all bookmarks.

  2. At the top of the library window, click on import and backup , and then select restore.
  3. Click Choose file
  4. In the new window that appears, find the bookmarks file, select it and click Open
  5. Bookmark Windows should now be imported.

• Bookmark backup partially damaged. How to restore?

  I just needed to restore my bookmarks, and unfortunately, several files are now empty.

  Just got the new OS for my macbook, OS of the Mavericks. In my previous OS, I used Firefox and had bookmarks saved on the menu, but also the different Web sites registered as bookmark tabs, right under the search bar of the site and under the normal google search bar at the top right. For each site like gmail.com, I would set parameters so there are no words, only the icons that I recognize. Makes it really easy for me to use, why can't do that now?

• several years of bookmarks just disappeared as well as the toolbar!

  After years of collection of bookmarks, they are gone and I have read the responses of support who are useless since I have no toolbar and no tab helps which it refers to. I tried clicking on the homepage to find the profile, and he says R click on toolbar... which as I said, does not appear
