Windows search does not find some words of some documents even if we find the same words in others?

I have the book of James Joyce Ulysses saved to a file and the chapters saving serpated in other files. When I search a few words is displayed the results of the chapters yet, i.e. to show the full file of novel and chapters. Anyone know why this might be. Thank you.

Hello

  1. The question appears with the specific document type?
  2. Research work earlier? If so, remember to make changes to the computer before the question?

You can try to change advanced indexing option:

  • Windows 7: the search does not find the files that should be, directory is indexed and *.php included on the list of extensions

Windows 7: search does not find the files that should be. I have indexed directory and *.php included on the list of extensions, but search can't find files for Word searches that I know there are files with these words in them.

If you're frustrated by research (aka Desktop Search), you are not alone. Click the Start button and type find and click the button 'change the way Windows search'. Now click on the Advanced button and select the tab file types scroll down and find your type of file (in your case .php) and make sure the radio button "index properties and the content of the file" is selected for the file type.

Out the form by clicking on the OK button, but do not close the form when you click the Advanced button.

Then, you may need to change the indexing locations. If the folder where your files are located is not known for indexing search, then search is not even bother looking for here (a source of frustration for many users). Maybe your files are located on another drive or partition without the knowledge of the indexing engine. Using the options icon and select/deselect expand, make sure that at least the files of interest are included for the indexed locations. I hope this helps.

  • When you try to restore the system using the system image, Windows 7 does not find the USB HDD.

I have 3 computers backed up with their images of system on an external USB drive.

However, when you try to restore a computer using system image, Windows 7 fails to find the USB HDD.

I think it would be probably due to the fact that the WindowsImageBackup folder is probably not in the right place or a superfluous folder. Here's an example of how my disk backup has arranged record...

    Root for example E: /.

    -Computer #1

    - WindowsImageBackup
    -ComputerName #1

    -202348 backup 2016-05-29

    -Catalogue

    -SPPMetadataCache

    -MediaID (file)

    -Computer #2

    - WindowsImageBackup
    -ComputerName #2

    -SPPMetadataCache

    -ComputerName #3

    -202348 backup 2016-05-29

    -Catalogue

    -SPPMetadataCache

    -MediaID (file)

I realize that the WindowsImageBackup folder should be at the origin, so I moved this computer folder #1 a less E:\

However, restoration is unable to find it and can't even see the USB HDD.

Can anyone offer advice on what I can hurt?

Thank you all for responding with your advice and suggestions but the failure has been a bit of my doing (?).

When I went to another port for the USB, everything worked fine! Simple solution, that I should have tried first - duh! :-)

  • bluetooth Windows search does not find my sd10 headset motorola

Recently bought this Motorola SD10 HD bluetooth headset to listen to internet radio on my laptop Dell Latitude E6410.   The headset pairs easily with my HTC Droid phone, but I'm unable to pair it with my laptop.    The search function of Windows bluetooth device does not have the helmet, there is no possibility to try same pair.   Motorola phone supports the claims, it is a problem of Windows since the pair of headphones with my cell phone.

BTW I also use a mouse bluetooth with the laptop and sometimes it loses the pairing and the only way to (re) pair is to remove the device and the device to be added again.   So I think it's a problem of bluetooth of Windows.

Thanks in advance for your help-Frank

    Hi Frank,.

1 Windows operating system you are using?

    2. you receive messages or error codes?

    Method 1:

You can check with the support of Motorola and check if there is for the windows you use any headphone driver and software. If so, the same install and check if it helps.

  • Windows search can not find my files

Even if I indexed all folders on my computer Windows Search can not find something of my music, my pictures, and my videos folders. I checked if they are indexed and they are. I tried rebuilding the index, but it did not help. Does anyone know what may be the problem?

Problem solved. One of my programs has changed the use of the search bar for "do not search" menu properties taskbar and start, I have no idea why.

    PROBLEM SOLVED

I struggled with the same problem for a few hours. Finally, I discovered that:

If you are looking for a word in a file name, then you must start the search string with an asterisk (wildcard character), in the opposite case, Windows will detect nothing. For example, if you are looking for "cyberdyne" in a file name, then you must look for the two "cyberdyne" and "* cyberdyne.

If the word you are looking for is at the beginning of the name of the file, or if it is preceded by a dash or a dot, then Windows Explorer is the file without the asterisk.

  • Windows 7 search did not find the result of a formula in excel file

    Hello

I have some files stored in a folder specific excel. In excel files, there are some formulas. Windows search, I want to find the file that shows the result of a particular formula. When I search, it not find the file with the text, the result of the formula. Can someone help me please?

Windows cannot do this, because the formula has not been assessed or calculated yet.  Only Excel can calculate the result of the formula and show the answer, so you must open the file in Excel before you can find the result.

using the function search is not finding the words I know are in my document. Why?

The fact that you see a Word does not mean that it is 'real' text. You can select the word? If so, copy and paste in another application (such as Notepad). He always look the same? If the answer to each question is, you also cannot find it by using a search.

What is Windows Desktop Search 4.0 that you have installed with your updates.

If it is uninstall it from Add / Remove programs.

    The update is KB940157

If it does not show then show updates is on top, use the method below.

    Click Start , type cmd.
Now in the result of the research with right-click on cmd.exe and select run as administrator if you are not the administrator.
Type regsvr32 /u "%programfiles%\Windows Desktop Search" and press enter

You search old back, see if it works.

The next time you do the Search 4.0 updates appears again.

You can try it again if you wish.

  • Backup has encountered a problem during backup of the C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop\music file. Error: (System does not find the specified path. (0 x 80070003))

I had to uninstall iTunes a few months ago and successfully re-installed, but part of my music was missing.   At one point, following the instructions on a thread on the forums Apple or Microsoft, I saved my music library on the desktop. Since then, I do not have a library of music on the desktop file.  In my looooooong hours trying to fix things, I do not know if I deleted it or what.

    Now, I get the message:

"Backup has encountered a problem during backup of the C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop\music file. Error: (System does not find the specified path. (0 x 8007003)) "whenever I have backup my computer.

As I understand it, that does not affect really any other files, they rely on the spot (I think), but

HOW CAN I GET RID OF THIS MESSAGE? or what is the cause?  Of course, I could use help in simple English, step by step, as I'm not very techno...

    Hi serene,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

As indicated by the error, this problem appears, when these files/libraries that are saved automatically are not present on your computer. I suggest you to follow the steps below and check, if it can help solve the problem.

    • Create missing files that are listed in the error message.
    • Exclude files from the files to backup in the backup settings and then include these files in their original location. To exclude folders in other communities and to include these files in the original location, follow these steps:
      1. In Control Panel, open backup and restore.
      2. In the section back up , click change settings.
      3. In the dialog box Configure the backup , click Next.
      4. In the dialog box that you want to save , click Let me choose, and then click Next.
      5. Expand data files, library, expand additional locations, and then click to clear the check boxes folder AppData, Contactsand Research .
      6. Expand computers, expand the element of your system drive (for example, expand Local disk (c)), expand users, , and then click to select the checkboxes AppData, Contactsand Research if they exist.
      7. Click Next, and then click Save settings and exit.
      8. Backup and restore, click back up now to perform a new backup. The backup operation must complete without errors.

If the problem persists, I suggest you follow the steps in the following article for troubleshooting backup problems.

    Hello

You did changes to the computer before the show?

These problems occur because the folders or libraries that you are trying to back up or restore include a reparse point. Analytical points are similar to shortcuts Windows or Unix symbolic links. A point of analysis can be used to point to a file that is moved temporarily to a different drive.
