Windows Server 2003 - Error Codes: 0X800706BE & 0X800706BA

I have a server with Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition custom which is made of multiple system errors of Windows Update Agent with ID 20.

Here are some examples:

Installation failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800706be: update Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 for Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x 86 (KB982168).

Installation failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800706ba: Security Update for Windows Server 2003 (KB979683).

In addition, there are 20 twenty updates that produce the total failure of the installation with the 0x800706ba error. The first installation of .NET framework 3.5 SP1 error is the only one with error 0x800706be.

To resolve this problem, I did the following:

Stop the automatic updates service, renamed Software Distribution files in C:\WINDOWS and C:\WINDOWS\system32, and then restarted again the automatic updates service.

The same problem occurred (updates will download, but not with the error ID 20 system event) and so I did the same steps again and also reinstated the SOOPER services:

1. run "gpupdate/force".

2. run "/detectnow wuauclt.

And once again, downloaded updates, but not settle and the recorded errors.

What else can I try to get these updates installed?

If the computer, in fact, update through Windows Update, post it here instead: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserversecurity/threads

If, however, it updates via WSUS, post here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserverwsus/threads

This could be because windows server 2003 is not updated with the latest version of the Terminal Server client. With terminal services client 6.0 update... It should solve the problem. Here is the link to download:

Historical Windows Update says my IE8 installation failed, but he did not. All updates installed after IE8 and Windows Update Custom says IE8 security there that more nothing to install. How can I fix the update history? The error code is 0x800706BE. I ran the tool FixIt from Microsoft Powershell and repaired Windows Update, but still false historical error. Windows XP SP3. I had rather not unintall/reinstall IE8.

Then, assuming that IE8 is not offered again when run you a scan CUSTOM to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com or automatic updates, you don't have to worry about this entry in the update history.

Note: If you HAVE additional problems in IE8 or Windows Update (for example, when the next Cumulative Security Update for IE8 is released in April 2012, if not earlier), and I think that you will respond to this topic for further assistance (i.e. to bookmark this thread).

PS: in case you're wondering, security update for Windows Internet Explorer 8 (KB2647516) is not listed in Add/Remove programs because the version of IE8, you have installed the 3 it includes.

    Hi all

My customer has a Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition, which failed to P2V conversion around 97-98%.

The error on the GUI is: error: event. ReconfigurationFailedEvent.summary

Then, I found a discussion on communities vmware (link below), and this person had the same problem as mine. So, I tried a lot of changes on my server but nothing works.

Failed: Could not find the system volume, reconfiguration is not possible.

I have attached my exported logs.

Thanks in advance for your help

Do not delete the boot.ini file! It is your Windows startup configuration.

You should remove \boot folder or as an alternative just rename it to \boot.bak for example.

    Hi all

Once the converter VMware-converter-en - 5.5.1 - 1682692 does not work, with a touch of friend uninstall the 5.5 version of Converter Standalone Client, look for the VMware converter version - 4.0.0 - 146302 and install this version to the other machine. No not that I had to be Converter, but the windows 7 Pro 64-bit.

After this race, the Standalone Client 4.4 Converter and everything work fine.

  • Error during installation of Windows Server 2003

I installed VMWare Player, however, when I went to install Windows Server 2003 (easy installation) on my windows 7 Home Edition (64-bit) as owner / administrator.

The VMWare authorization Services do not seem to be started, but when I try to start them via the services.msc, I get the following error:

"Windows failed to start the service on Local computer VMWare authorization Service.

"Error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly."

I studied this error and saw a few notes on adding __vmware_user__ my users the.  But with what privileges?

I also saw a few notes on execution of "regsrv32 vmauxx.exe" which does not work on my computer.

Any ideas on how to proceed?

    Thank you.

    Welcome to the community,

Installing on Windows 7 is sometimes delicate. Take a look at http://faq.sanbarrow.com/index.php?solution_id=1113 to verify that your installation is ok or how to fix it in case it is not.

In addition to the installation of VMware Player, I suggest that you install the guest without using "Easy Install".

  • Error code: 0x800706BE (cannot install KB2446704)

A security update for .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x 86 (KB2446704) failed to install since last week, due to an error: 0x800706BE. It caused my computer to freeze; the facility itself has weighed for up to 6 hours (!); end the session became impossible so I have to hold the power button to get my computer to cut, otherwise it crashes for hours (see previous page); and whenever I try to install, it remains empty for the second phase, I just then cancel, inevitably causing my computer down for the umpteenth time. For the love of God, someone please help me. I've scoured the forums without success, and I have now spent more time trying to troubleshoot the computer instead of using it to produce a work.

  • Windows Server 2003 detects no audio device

When I start Windows Server 2003, I hear no sound start. I hear no sound XP, nor do I hear the sound of UK.

Then, I discovered that volume does not work as well. When I go to start > Control Panel > sounds and Audio devices, it says "no Audio device". There IS an audio device built into the logic board.

I went through every troubleshooting step and what I see is that I need to get drivers.
Unfortunately, Windows Server 2003 is an old operating system, and it is almost impossible to find the drivers. When I go to start > administrative tools > computer management > Device Manager, I see one category "Other devices" with a yellow question mark icon. I see 2 devices inside, "On the HD Audio Bus Audio device" and "Base system device". Both have a little yellow warning sign next to them. Double-click any of these two, and he said: 'the drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)', and when I click on the button to install the driver, it gets stuck in the research or error "cannot install this hardware", said.
I don't have the disc or Windows recognize even anything on both devices. I also made sure that audio has been enabled in the Services, and that did not work. You have a driver or a fix? Answer as soon as possible!
