Windows server 2008 r2 file permissions

Hi all

I'm working on a project where I need to dynamically create files. As these files are created dynamically, these are 'owned' by user created. The same user that I can read, write these files.

But if I try to access these files to other user accounts, these accounts have only read permission on the files created dynamically. But I need the permission write too.

Suggestions to help achieve this feature is appreciated.

P.S.:this problem does not occur in windows 7.

Thanks in advance,

Prabhakaran.

I think not-, but it might be possible with the rights administrator and .NET / Windows DLL calls?

The only thing that might help is if you use a folder as the programdata % (data from the consumer application - C:\ProgramData). It is possible as part of a Setup program to create and 'unlock' (in the construction specifications) a folder here inside (you must also put the file here - I put a dummy file as the configuration file is created by the application) and then I can read/write in it by different users.

  • Problems with the files of FoxPro 2.6 in Windows Server 2008.

    Dear Manager:

We have some files of FoXPro 2.6 for example "AddUser.DBF" file that can be read in Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003 by a "Microsoft Visual FoxPro OLE DB provider", it can read the file "AddUser.DBF" by our ASP.NET 1.1 (Visual Stodio 2003) web application, no problem.

We have been using MS Windows Server 2008 R2 now.  But when we installed "Microsoft Visual FoxPro OLE DB provider", he cannot read the file "AddUser.DBF" by our web application ASP.NET 1.1 (Visual Stodio 2003) on the MS Windows 2008 R2 environment.

Do you have a solution to this issue?  You have another type of Microsoft Visual FoxPro OLE DB Provider for Windows 2008 R2 help?  Then it can read FoxPro example "AddUser.DBF" file?

When you get a chance, please answer my question.

  • Windows file sharing - a lot of bandwidth is consumed on ports 137, 138, 445 domain windows server 2008

    Hello

I have observed this for a few months now on my windows Server 2008 domain (all my clients are windows 7) and it drives me crazy.  My wireless nodes #1 bandwidth consumption is taken by 'Windows file shaing' on ports 137, 138, and 445.  I tried to pull the bandwidth on these ports on all of my users wireless using the wireless controller, then the claim of the user than even a small file as 100 MB ' would take hours to download.  If windows 7 OS is too talkative, I prefer to go back to windows XP?

What is the solution of my problem, I need to have my users to upload files and at the same time be fair with my bandwidth that does all my work of nodes and servers without really hard wire.  Help please.

"Note: someday open a session:"windows file sharing"takes about 10 GB of bandwidth ' and sometimes 5 GB"

  • Installation of Windows Server 2008 from downloaded files

I have a new server ESXi of nu metal and you want to install Windows Server 2008 remotely.

I plan to download the Windows Server 2008 installer for the data store, but the user guide mentions the download an ISO file. I have the CD of Microsoft but not a single ISO.

So my question is, can I download the contents of the CD or should I create a bootable ISP to get this installation started?

MagicISO should be good do the job. You don't have to worry about doing whatever it is bootable. When you create an ISO image for a bootable CD/DVD already all these things start will appear in the image.

  • Windows Server 2008 and CHM files

    HR 7, HTML

Accompaniment of the victim has a customer you are trying to view .chm files in Windows Server 2008. They went ahead and tried the registry fix from the 'normal' to view chm on a network files, but that does not solve the issue.

My understanding is that chm files cannot be seen at all in Windows Server, but thought I would check - is it possible to view chm files in Windows Server 2008?

    Thank you

    -Jeff

    Jeff,

I don't think that something has changed in Windows 2008 and .chm files are certainly visible in this version of Windows. However, it may be that the customer needs to tinker with the security settings in Internet Explorer to make the visible distance .chm files. See this article for more details:

    http://weblog.helpware.NET/?p=50

To ensure that correct registry changes are made, the customer could try making them with free HHReg utility. It is available here:

  • Viewing JPG and GIF files crashes the server (Windows Server 2008)

I work in an office with windows server 2008 and we are having a problem where the right click images and choosing preview or open with IE will crash our server, then everyone must wait 3 minutes to go.  I tried like 2 hours and cannot find any info on this problem online.  Everyone knows about this problem with Server 2008?  It seems to be very consistent and arrived on different images (JPG, GIF) until we had to install a third Viewer left - but the problem is still there and now and then someone accidentally blocking us.

I have tested what it about three times what about everyone when it crashes - but so far I'm 3 for 3, so I don't think it's randomly occurring even though I don't know if led EACH image.

    Help, please!

It's a consumer Forum, your question would be better fit in a Technet forum, please repost it und include more details (for example the detailed error message). Thank you. http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/categories/

I solved the problem.  Run as administrator.  Not enough coffee this morning.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2, with two Windows Storage Server 2003 Standard: How can I add the MAC authentication on top of Active Directory authentication for a storage servers?

I have two running Windows Storage Server 2003 storage servers in a domain R2 Windows Server 2008 Standard.  On top of the Active Directory authentication, I want to add authentication of MAC address for the access to one of the storage servers.  In this scenario, an authenticated user is unable to log on to the target storage server unless the user is also on one of the computers MAC address accepted.  All domain users will have access to other folders and files as configuration storage server in Active Directory.  I already have a user access to installation by the permissions for folders on the storage server target, but I still want to restrict access to specific computers as well.  For what it's worth the server hardware is HP Proliant DL360 G5 for the Standard Server 2008 R2 and server HP Proliant DL185 G5 for two Storage Server 2003 computers.  I don't want to have MAC address authentication as the main means of access control to the network, only for the storage server a as an addition to control Active Directory.
