Windows stuck facilities update

Hello

I use Windows 7 64-bit.
When I restart my computer, I get a screen saying "installation updates 1 1 - Please do not disconnect or turn off your computer.  The PC then sticks on this screen.
I tried to use the Windows Update in Control Panel, and this shows an installation of an update for Microsoft Silverlight security.  However, this starts, but then becomes grayed out and the Panel freezes.
I tried to turn off my AV so my firewall.
I also had a similar problem installing other programs under Windows.
Any ideas or help?
Kind regards
Duncan

    Hello klmorgan-Office [365].

Your question about the Microsoft community received a response from Canadian technology.
Title: updates - stuck Win 7

    Response
Fix tetraethyle3, but I would advise Windows Update service be stopped and a reboot occur in addition to the definition of never.
Many of us have worked on a better set of instructions.  I'll include it here. Feedback is more than welcome...
    August 18, 2016
Windows Update has become very problematic for users of Windows 7.  During the past year, we have worked to find a solution that works for you.  We found one that works very well for most.  We know that for some it works well for August 2016 until 2 September Tuesday, known as Patch Tuesday.
We hope to update for September.
We emphasize that, to do this, you must follow exactly as described.
There are two main types of installations of Windows 7: 32-bit or 64-bit.  You know what is installed on your computer.  Click on the globe start, type in the box system. Choose system information in the list.  The abbreviation for technology for 32-bit is x 86 and 64-bit x 64

    1. Start Windows Update, and change the setting for never to find updates. We recommend that you only keep this setting.  Then Windows Update will be automatic.  From there, you are responsible for departure and the installation of updates.  We recommend to you a few days after the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
    2. The process begins by ensuring that there is nothing running that will prevent the update to work correctly.  Click on the globe to start and type services in the text box.  Click Services in the list that appears.  In the window that appears then (its alphabetical), find Windows Update.  Right click on it (left click if your mouse is set for left-handed people), and then choose stop.
    3. Restart your computer.
    4. You will now download and install manually updates one or two.  In most cases, only the first (KB3172605) is required.  If that produces a result that indicates the update is not suitable for your computer, you must first install the 2nd day of these (KB3020369), and then install the first (KB3172605).  Choose one that is for your machine - 32-bit (X 86) or 64-bit (X 64).

    1. After rebooting your computer, wait for about 10 minutes until that Windows Update performs its tasks.  Do not use the computer for other purposes during this waiting period.
    2. Start Windows Update.  It will take that a few minutes to come up with a list and download updates you select.  The process is quite normal because it was always from that moment.

If your computer has not been updated for a long time, it may take longer.

  • Update Windows stuck in a loop. Keeps trying to download page 3 of 3, but never does, then restarts and is trying to download. Can't seem to put an end to the loop.

Update Windows stuck in a loop. Keeps trying to download page 3 of 3, but never does, then restarts and is trying to download. Can't stop the loop to try something else.

The operating system is Windows Vista.

I found this as a solution and to share it here, I still have questions, but thinking might help someone.

Windows Vista and 7 update Reboot Loop Fix

Symptom: You have a update that is causing Windows Vista or Windows 7, stuck in an infinite loop. The problem usually manifests as a "step 3 of 3:0 % complete...". "followed by a restart which starts at the exact same message, not allowing you to get on your account of connection or a desktop at all. It's a pain, and he doesn't stop, even in Mode without failure or advanced trying last good known Configuration in the start menu.

Here is the short version for people who know how to get to tools to do this and if run System Restore from the installation DVD does not work: DELETE files

    \Windows\WinSxS\cleanup.XML AND (as applicable)

\Windows\WinSxS\pending.XML and the infinite loop update will be set.

There are two ways to get the files, you need to delete. The easiest is to start your installation of Windows and the button 'Install now' DVD, click on the link located at the bottom left that says 'Repair your computer' open a command prompt and type:

    del C:\Windows\WinSxS\cleanup.xml

    del C:\Windows\WinSxS\pending.xml

The other way is to download a live Linux distribution such as the System of Tritech Service (which, unlike Vista or 7 DVD, can be booted from a USB flash drive for computers with no CD/DVD drive such as netbooks), open a command prompt, mount the file system and deleting the files. Assuming that your Windows installation is the first partition on the first hard disk, the following commands in rxvt or a console in the Tritech Service system should work:

    Mount.NTFS - 3 g/dev/sda1/mnt/sda1

    RM /mnt/sda1/Windows/*/cleanup.xml /mnt/sda1/Windows/*/pending.xml

    umount/mnt/sda1

    discount to zero f

Anyway you do it, this solution will stop the engine update loop reboot and let you return to your computer. You may need to make some corrections, additional or manual updates if you have problems, but unless your login screen and/or the Office should be accessible! Is a very annoying problem and I noticed that Google is looking for things like "stage of vista 3 3 restart" usually only provides information about how to run the system on a Vista DVD restore. Unfortunately, if there is a problem with an update, sometimes the system restore does not work and fail with obscure errors, so this info is vital.

Maybe it's your last chance to avoid giving to the top and reinstalling Windows, and we always like avoiding relocations!

  • I'm stuck in the windows 8.1 update

I'm stuck in the 'circles' of windows 8.1 update. I can't do all the functions described here. I do not have access to the functions of the mouse, Windows key + X key does not work, nothing. I've tried everything. Slide the mat mouse, ctl, alt, DEL, keys function, impossible to get an answer with any one of the instructions listed here. I thought that this 8.1 bug has been fixed since last year, but I do not. It has been "circling" for nearly three hours.

    Hi Terri,

This issue may have caused due to the Internet connection or program third party or app. I would like to know some information about this problem so that we can help you further.

    1. do you get any error code or error message?

    2. what type of Internet connection do you use?

    3. have you plugged other external devices that mice?

    4. have you installed a third-party security software on your computer?

As a first step, try to disconnect all external devices other than the keyboard and mouse if you have connected an and check if the update is installed or not.

Manually restart the computer and then try the following and see if it works for you.

    Method 1:

Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter, and check if that helps.

Follow the steps to run the Troubleshooter:

    1. Press Windows + Q on your keyboard to move to the search option.
    2. Troubleshooting type, and then click Troubleshooting.
    3. Now, type Windows Update in the option Search .
    4. Click on the troubleshooting Windows Update tool and follow the instructions to run the troubleshooter.

    Method 2:

Put the computer in a clean boot state, and then try to install Windows 8.1 update and check if the problem persists. This will help you determine which third party/PPP program is causing this problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 or Windows 8 / 8.1:

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, see the "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" section in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

  • Unable to boot from USB or ODD after that windows 8.1 update on P850 - 31L

    Hello

    I just updated a P850 - 31L for windows windows 8.1 8 by the windows store.

Before the update, I was able to boot from a USB key by pressing F12 during the boot upward.

After the update I was more able to boot from the USB drive. Select the USB key by changing the boot order in the setup of the BIOS via F2 or pressing F12 is no longer works.

Booting from ODD also is no longer possible.

The version of the BIOS is 6.70 and does not secure boot must be disabled. However the DVD and the USB I tried are signed Ubuntu 12.10, who worked before the upgrade. Fastboot in windows 8.1 is disabled.

Then, this seems to be a bug in the BIOS Toshiba? Or a windows 8.1 update the BIOS or the boot EFI in a way partition replace the BIOS setting? Really stuck here, does not seem to be much information.

Any ideas or help would be very appreciated!

    Thank you

    Michael

Update: I just tried to boot from the DVD of windows recovery 8 Toshiba and this does more or the other.

    Post edited by: michael_toshiba_forum

    OK I fixed that.

First of all, it is to note that it is possible to turn off secure in the 6.70 BIOS startup.
However this option is only available when the password is not defined in the Security menu.

After activation or deactivation of the password a reboot is necessary to make the secure boot toggle option is available or not.

It's good that I guess I assume that it can prevent secure boot are disabled when the machine is running. However this does not seem to have been associated with this problem.

I selected the option "reset to factory defaults" in the output menu.
The machine is then able to boot from USB and DVD. The boot order was also respected.

Perhaps upgrading windows 8.1 corrupt invisible somehow the BIOS settings. Or maybe it was just a stranage coincidence that the BIOS itself corrupted during the installation. Anyway this factory reset fixed.

  • Vista Service Pack 1 - Windows cannot install updates.

My fathers computer is running Vista Service Pack 1 on Windows Vista Edition family.

He was unable to update for some time now, because of the Service Pack, it uses at present.  Any attempt to update returns the message "Windows cannot check updates".

I tried to solve this problem by running the tool upgrade of the system, then the standalone installer.  The Setup program for the next service pack returns the fatal error 8000ffff.  Any ideas?  Previously, I've read that antivirus could cause a problem.  I tried the installation of the service pack with the antivirus software completely removed again without success.

    I just located this - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Update-Error-8000FFFF - I should try that first?

Thank you for all your help.  None of the updates were drivers and nothing happened to interrupt the installation, so I'm stuck for what could have gone wrong.

In any case, it seemed the logical thing tore it and start over.  I managed to get my hands on Hirens Boot CD and using the facitily MiniXP on which I recorded files that desperately, they would not lose on a newly bought external drive.  Then I did a reinstall of Visa that is now fully updated to Service Pack 2.  I tried to tempt them in the purchase of Windows 7, but that's another story.

Needless to say that they are now set up to allow regular backups and system restore is running very well!

    Thanks again for your help.

  • Windows 7 Pro update is not after the new installation

I know that this question is asked many times, but I tried pretty much everything that is suggested and nothing seems to work, some worked for others, but they have not worked for me.

I have replaced a failed hard drive on a Lenovo X 200 an old laptop that I was giving away he a son of friends who needed just for the College.

I stuck in an SSD and saw genuine window 7 Pro licenses as was previously on Vista, I made a new installation as I've done a hundred times before, and then as always update windows first, but I'm just update Windows scroll bar I left it all night nothing happened.

I tried using the Microsoft Easy Fix times nothing.

I tried Windows Update Agent still nothing.

I tried a suggestion here that seemed to have worked for others install (KB3102810) I did as stated on this occasion, he worked told him there are 225 updates and 18 in option more, I jumped in option one it seemed to work very well it installed just 13 with the lack of rest I restarted as requested but recede in windows it says Windows is up to date, that was impossible.

I clicked on update again and it does what it was originally just to get the scroll bar that I left for hours and nothing, this is seriously my head in, I think that Microsoft is not going like it the impression that I'm being bullied by installing Win 10 and the person wants to win 10 , because they prefer to Win 7.

Please could someone help me on this pickle was on this thing now for almost 2 days of installation then put in solid form and re install all to nothing does not.

    Hello

A few days ago that I have updated Windows 8.1 evaluation to the full version 8.1 and since then my audio doesn't work. In Control Panel, "Digital Audio display (AMD high definition Audio Device)" is listed as disconnected. The audio icon on the taskbar is XE out and clicking on it works the finder error in vain. Speakers no longer appear in the list of devices well now that nothing works I don't know if they have ever or if the audio comes through display Digital Audio. Headphones do not present as playback device and the volume on the keyboard controls and the taskbar are not accessible. I've never used external speakers.

Windows 8.1 update seemed to wipe all my software HP and AMD came with the laptop so I reinstalled the HP support center and looked for a driver updated and all that jive, but all also shows to date. Hi Chris,

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp59501-60000/sp59861.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  If you see a very similar entry for (or entry of IDT) IDT HD Audio , right click on the device and select uninstall - you should also get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.  If there is no input IDT, go just below.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

    Kind regards
