Windows Taskbar and maximized

Hello
I noticed a strange thing. I use 2 monitors with display in extension functionality.
Sometimes when I maximize the window in the main screen (with the taskbar) window does not stop at the top of the taskbar, but at the bottom of the screen (the window is behind the taskbar).

I think it's a bug, but I have not found any section "Commit bug" :)

Hi Michael Borek,

Thanks for posting your reply.

We will check if the system that is used performs differently according to the settings suggested Windows, rather than the settings currently defined to check the overall rate of return of the equipment to manage the operating system.

To do this follow these steps:

Click on StartORB - in the type of Information the performance line of research - from from the programs list click Performance Information and Tools - Advanced settings-click on the left side of the window - click on adjust the appearance and performance of Windows - from the Visual Effects tab , select the parameter setting for better Performance that one to the top of the tab - click OK.

Running in this context for a while.  Note changes in what it the effects of the system and try to document the changes to the post.  Also note that the problem occurs even if in this context.

Maybe it's the drivers for your need of updated hardware components.  Although Windows 7 tries to install drivers for as much as possible, the drivers - who often change - may not be the latest film from the manufacturer's Web site.  After installation of the operating system, it is always preferable, to follow through with the install latest drivers for your components from the manufacturer's Web site.  Pilot is designed to provide the best performance and handling of a component to operate optimally between the hardware and the software.  Driver, unless the material is Microsoft, is not created by Microsoft.
Note:

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

Try to install all your drivers of system components, in order to have the best, at this time, available on your system performance.  Some drivers, that you can search for include;  The drivers for video card, network card drivers, no matter which suggested vendor drivers for you Bios motherboard, Chipset, etc. - you can contact your hardware vendor, if under warranty, or if their support is at your disposal for any additional suggestions involving that treat.

What we find, by changing the setting above, is a little on your configuration.  This should help us to look at what your system currently functions under Windows offers parameters.  This does not mean it's the only parameters that your system is capable, as it asserts some of this may be video driver or other driver related.  We understand that the problem is not consistent in how it happens, but we will give opportunity to these steps to walk to the other suggestions if necessary.

Please keep us informed on this issue.

Here are some instructions I've done for people who have this error message and are sometimes a little nervous about editing the registry:

Before making any changes to your registry, back up the registry with this free and popular tool:

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/ERUNT.html

Open Notepad to create a new text file:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    notebook

Click OK to open a new Notepad file.

Copy and paste the following lines in bold text into the new Notepad file:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\control\windows]
    "ErrorMode" =: 00000002

Save the new text file with extension .reg on your desktop or somewhere you can remember with a name you can remember, something like:

    fix13.reg

After you save the file, close Notepad.

Locate the file fix13.reg on your desktop and double-click it.

Alternatively, you can right-click on the fix13.reg file, choose open with... and select the registry editor.

Answer in the affirmative to the question... Are you sure you want to add the information in the registry?

You should then see a message that information has been registered in the register.

    Reboot your system and test.

You can delete the fix13.reg file when you are finished.

2 to the parameter ErrorMode stops at pop - up message but still material error log in the Event Viewer log.

  • How to stop windows that open up behind the taskbar and sidebar

I was wondering if there was a way to stop windows from behind the taskbar and sidebar of Vista SP2, I currently have my taskbar on the right side on the same width as my sidebar, located on the left side of the screen. Both have been set to keep above other windows. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Even if it meant having the image of the shrunken desktop so it fit perfectly into the space remaining.

Also, is it possible to have a mobile wallpaper?

Oddities of the operating system, I think. Having the bar spots on the side at least gives you a chance to save a program window. I run the taskbar double wide at the top, and some programs insist on opening umderneath it. I have to resize the task bar if I want to be able to move the window anywhare. Also happens in Win 7...

DreamScene animated backgrounds were for Vista Ultimate only, but Stardock has called the Scapes desktop that will run on other versions of Vista, but you must pay for it.

  • Windows 7 taskbar and start menu large icons are either missing (empty by default) or do not show the right program.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium on an AMD Athlon (TM) II X 4 630 2.80 GHz with 6.0 GB of RAM (64 bit OS). PC is up-to-date with the latest updates and use Norton Anti Virus.

I used this PC for several months with no problems. After doing some research in my menu of the taskbar Windows Explorer and start icons have become corrupted. The links always work but do not show the right program.

I tried several things to fix this. I removed everything in the start menu and taskbar, rebooted, added a few back but the problem still exists. I deleted the icon cache file (renamed to db.old), restarted, problem still exist. I made a recovery of a checkpoint system before the problem was still not fixed. When I go to small icons, the problem disappears. The problem only seems to appear when you use large icons in the bar of tasks and the start menu.

Based on what I've tried so far is there any other suggestions on how to fix this?

  • Taskbar and icons on Windows Vista disappearing after a certain period of time. Why!

I noticed that if I leave my PC running for an hour or more unattended (even with my screensaver on and the monitor off), that the icons in the taskbar and the desktop will disappear off the screen when I go back and try to use it.  The only thing I can do is to move my mouse and open some things by right-clicking the mouse, but what is it.  I have no other choice than to make a difficult stop (hold the power button until the PC turns off).  If it helps, my PC is a Dell Inspiron 531 that runs on Windows Vista Home Premium 32 - Bit.  At first, I thought it was a problem caused by Internet Explorer 9 (that I have long eliminated from my PC and thankfully returned IE8), but I was wrong.  In addition, my antivirus program is Norton 360, and I run almost religiously to combat ill will on my PC.  If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it.

ADD: Also, after the desktop and the taskbar icons disappear when I try to bring up the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del, the screen goes black and I can just press ESC to return to the white (except for my desktop wallpaper) desktop computer.  Again, any help will be appreciated.

    Hello

1 did you changes to the software to the computer before the show?

Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem is solved or not. If the problem persists not perform the clean boot.

Was: start the computer in safe mode.

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Start your computer in SafeMode (Windows Vista)

    B: Perform the clean boot

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: perform step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Hello, I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on a new laptop Asus UL50A series. This morning I received a message from Microsoft Update 'important' and so I updated my laptop, rebooted and noticed that the borders of my taskbar and window were more transparent. Before the update, everything worked fine, but now it does not work. Everything so far, works great except the issue of transparency. I would like to know how to fix this problem without having to do a system restore, since I already have a lot of important files on my new laptop. Was one of these updates for a video driver?  If that were the case, you might want to go back to the previous driver in Device Manager.

On the same note, ensuring that you have the latest video driver is also important if it wasn't one of the updates.

Then, you should try to restart the DWM and ensuring that it is auto-start.

In the search box, type "services".

When the window appears, select services and check for the Desktop Windows Manager.  Try to restart it.  Then right click on the entry and make sure that it is auto-start.

    Three options.

1: take the corners of the window and drag it to the format full screen. Do not use to expand. Close all other windows first via the taskbar and the latter. Windows will remember the size of the last closed window the next time that you open the program.

    No sound on anything whatsoever.

    See:

You can click on the Volume icon in the Windows taskbar near the clock and click on the link to mix down to open the mixing console.

You can adjust the volume level for each application in this window, so make sure that Firefox is not set to mute or set at a low level.

You will see only the Firefox program in the mix if you are on a website that plays sound.
