Windows Update keeps Ask Me to install MS12 - 016:KB2633880?

I installed months implemented type MS day, everything went without a hitch except KB2633880 which, after restarting, everything keeps asking to install again and again. Uninstalled and reinstalled same thing, it is in adding / deleting and in the registry? What is - this with these NET Framework updates? They are constantly a BIG headache!

SE FIXED ON 06/03/2012

Re: Method 1: I use Windows XP, 7 No, but I used the "solve problems..." "for XP and it did not help.

Method 2: update the tool of the system doesn't seem to be available for XP.

  • Automatic Updates keeps asking me to install a patch after it has already been successfully installed

I am asked repeatedly to install IE8 update KB2647516 every time I restart Windows. I have now done this 4 times, as can be verified by my history of update to Windows Update. Also, add/remove programs of control panel shows that this update is installed. I tried to use 'Fix It' of your Windows Update support page. He said he had solved the problem, but I am still being prompted by automatic updates to install this update!

Can I you or you don't have backups of ALL System Mechanic change has EVER performed on the computer, because it is installed?

  • Windows Update keeps telling me to install KB977165 even after 9 installs

    Hello

I tried to obtain this update to install on my computer laptop windows vista without success.  In the history of the update it says that the update has been installed successfully many times, however, whenever the restart of the computer, the windows update appears the taskbar saying me that an important update is available.  I tried the manual solutions posted in other threads that are running the microsoft fixit to determine if the computer is compatible (the tool says that my computer is compatible with the update) and then run the fixit tool to delete the update history and others and tried to manually install the update in safe mode and normal mode.  This update is vital or should I just put on the list of exclusions?  Any assistance would greatly be appreciated on this topic.

OK, first of all thanks for the quick responses.  I tried all the option listed in the post of MowGreen foregoing everything first without success.  Struck dead update continues to appear as needing to be installed.  Then, I went to the advice of the PA bear and at least now the update is not constantly ask to be installed.  The update continues to display in the window programs and features, such as an installed update, and it shows no longer update Windows it must be installed once more.  Thanks for the help!

It is up to you to verify the file Versions to ensure that the update is installed correctly, Feebler. Not too simple that it once was due to the Service Pack level possible that Vista can now be on. Simply because only such watch that installed upgrading does not necessarily mean that it has installed the 2 files containing the update. In plain language, the vulnerabilities that the update addresses can still be present on your computer.

The Service Pack level information is also on the system information page in Control Panel or, if you could click the start ORB, click Run, and then type
    winver
    Click OK or press ENTER.

The article on KB977165 shows the different Versions of the 2 files that should be present, according to which the Service Pack is installed.
The files are Ntoskrnl.exe and Ntkrnlpa.exe.  If no patches have been installed (you must apply patches, they are usually not updated), access to the services of the GDR branch which is planned for the concerned product of Vista.
If Vista is on SP1, Versions will start with 6.0.6001 . 18 xxx
Vista SP2 Versions will begin with 6.0.6002 . 18 xxx

Search for files which are in Windows\system32, then click on them, right click Properties, then click the Details tab to see which file Version they are.

  • Windows Update keeps trying to install K2686828 and KB2656369.

Windows Update keeps trying to install K2686828 and KB2656369.  Whenever I tells me the installation succeeds only to ask again to update.  I tried the fix - it solutions, and they have not corrected the problem.  Also, I did a virus scan and found nothing.  All my other updates were installed without problem.

This problem is related to the MSI registration information inconsistancies.  I was able to fix by using a cmd "msiexec /i {C09FB3CD-3D0C-3F2D-899A-6A1D67F2073F} ADDLOCAL = ALL/l * v % temp%\repairLog.txt.  At the end of this process, the two installed normally KB and I have now no critical updates in the meantime.  I noticed that article 917964 described a situation where IE would not work if the repairs were made the xp without removal of IE8 or IE 7 first.  My IE 8 works fine.  By 917964, "before you perform a repair of Windows XP installation, you must uninstall Windows Internet Explorer 7 or Windows Internet Explorer 8 of the Windows XP computer.". If you perform a repair of Windows XP installation, when a later version of Internet Explorer is still installed, Internet Explorer does not once the repair is complete. »

  • Windows Update keeps updated tioir to update installed

I am running Windows XP Professional SP3 on my laptop and installed a number of updates successfully on 11 and 13 July 2013.

But Windows Update keeps me offering updates security KB2729450, KB2742569, KB27789643, KB2804577, KB2833940 and KB2844285 and KB952069. I get no error message and they show installed successfully in my update history.

I ran MS Fix Center several times without success. On checking through my control panel, I discovered that the first 6 had actually been installed - I uninstalled and reinstalled, but Windows Update always their offer. I see that KB952069 has been downloaded, but it is not in the security updates that I can see through the control panel; so I do not know if it is also installed (doesn't seem to be the case). I've now hidden these 7 updates in desperation. How to solve this problem?

Good to know and happy you have sorted it.
I know about this tool but didn't think he could solve the problems of update.

  • Windows Update keeps wanting to install "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP (KB2618444).

Windows Update keeps wanting to install "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP (KB2618444)", even if it appears in the list of updates to inistalled in the control panel.  The installation fails.  When I use "Fix it", it indicates that default Windows update data locations have changed, but I can't 'Fix It' to do the repair.  In what could be a related issue, Windows Data Execution Prevention (part of IE 8?) detects a malfunctioning or malicious add-on, whenever I try to access a video on ESPN3 and closes the Web page.  However, 'Fix It' can not detect any problems with the modules.  I don't know what else to try to fix any of these problems.

  • Windows Defender and the malicious software removal tool not doing anything to protect against malware, why Windows Update keep harassing upgrade us on a regular basis?

original title: WHY Windows Update keep up to date USELESS of Windows Defender and installation USELESS malware remover?

I'm a computer technician who makes a TON of virus remove money from Windows computers.  Two-thirds of my tasks of repair involving the elimination of viruses from Windows and trying to fix the Internet Explorer, the worst browser known to humanity.

I have a question about Windows Defender and the malicious software removal tool.  These are two programs entirely worthless, evidenced by the fact that computers with them installed still get infected of all viruses, Trojan and rootkit out there.  Clearly, if these two programs of malware Microsoft has done anything to protect your computer, it would have been without having to release still a THIRD tool antivirus, "security essentials" for Microsoft.   I'm not complaining — the way Microsoft Windows absorbs malware like a sponge, put a lot of money in my bank account. Please keep doing what you're doing... however...

My question is, given that Windows Defender and the malicious software removal tool doing nothing to protect against malware, why Windows Update keep harassing upgrade us on a regular basis?

Windows defender is not an antivirus program, it is designed to protect against spyware.

If you don't like them, so do not use them.

    Thanks for any help.

1 disconnect from the internet and then try and install updates.

    2. If no joy: -.

Try to manually download the same and install.
You can search the individual updates here:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

He just put in the KB number and then perform a search.

If this still creates a problem, disconnect from the internet and then try to install updates, and another thing you can try is turn off UAC before downloading a first update manually. See: (Guided Help: settings to adjust user account control in Windows 7):
