"Windows updates were not be properly configured and restoration of changes." The computer freeze

I have a laptop Dell inspiron 1501 with windows vista on it.

I don't have the disc of windows Vista DVD you are referring to, I have never recived a Dell I bought the computer on the internet with vista already installed.

My problem is that, with respect to the windows updates, I get a message saying "Windows have been developed to date not be properly configured and restoration of changes". I have 51 updates pending, 47 of these updates is equivalent to 170 MB.

As a result of these updates, I think it's the cause of my freezing computer once I have connected and I have to restart only having do not 2 - 3 times.

When the computer "freezes" the cursor does not move throughout the scene, none of the keys works, including Manager tasks etc., the only thing that works is to turn the computer off. Sometimes, there is a beep, beep once the computer crashes.

Over 95% the updates I have try have 'no '.

I'm lost as how to how to repair?

All good suggestions welcome to solve this problem, the simpler the better... I don't want to have to buy a new computer... If I won't Dell... and I'll have to get the windows disc... most solutions here seem to require it...

Hi AL0001,

Run the chkdsk command to check that there are no problems with your hard drive. To run the disk check, follow these steps:

  1. Restart your computer and immediately press the F8 key until you reach the menu Advanced Boot Options.
  2. Select Mode safe mode with command prompt.
  3. At the command prompt, type chkdsk/r (there is a space between the k and /)

Meanwhile, check the Dell website to see how you can get a recovery disk in case you need to recover Windows.

  • Cannot install the v18 Beta in Windows 8 due to restrictions of Windows Update.  How can I work around those?  Change the approach to update does not seem to help.

HI - we are trying to install the beta version (18) on a Windows 8 machine for one of our customers.  But, the update of Windows does not allow that to happen.  We changed the approach of updating to do not have the automatic updates.  But that does not solve the problem.  Any help is appreciated!  I guess it's a pretty easy fix, but unfortunately I'm not Windows savvy these days.

    Thank you!

Oh, it's not good advice.  Uninstall the last update to Flash will not remove Flash of the system, and it will leave you with a vulnerable version, the Senior Flash Player.  Install the player ActiveX for Win7 won't upgrade Flash Player component built into Internet Explorer, then the user will be still stuck with an outdated version and no beta version until they run windows update again.

We distribute a beta version for Internet Explorer on Windows 8 and over all because we do not have this distribution channel (it's the same reason that we do not have a beta of Chrome), and the binary of Win8 differ from those we publish for Windows 7.  There is no effective way to do at the moment.

We talk to Microsoft to provide a mechanism for the distribution of beta versions and releases of extended support of Flash Player in Win8 + users, but these vehicles of distribution would have to come directly from Microsoft and we always talk just to this topic, so there is no solution in the short term.

If you want to evaluate beta versions on Win8 + you look essentially NPAPI on Firefox or PPAPI on the opera.

  • Windows Update does not work properly

I just bought a laptop barely used with Windows 8 on it, I'm doing all the updates, so I can update to 8.1, and then to 10 when its released. IM using the windows update Control Panel tool and he says 41 updates, I try to start it and the status bar moves constantly but the downloaded amount never detached from zero even after 7 hours and do never install updates. Is this a common problem, is there something Im not doing right, just wonder why it will not update.

  • Windows update - Windows Update is not restore my windows/desktop computer after installing updates

When running Windows Update is not reproduce my office and rather trashes everything.  Ysterday I left to work with over a dozen research Internet Explorer open and this morning, I get to a Windows auto update cycle, which wrecked all.  Well Yes, they are lost and of course, I can spend an hour or more to find once again but my boss is breathing down my neck, as if it was my fault.  Microsoft how inconsiderate!

Of course, I have a solution, TURN OFF Microsoft Update but is this really what Microsoft wants?

    Please people think.

    Hi jbeech,

No, I don't work for Microsoft and I am not associated with them in any way (other than to receive awards and certificates I earned on my own).  I'm a volunteer civilian gift free time to help other people.

I meant nothing personal, per my comments of workflow.  I was just trying to do my best to help you avoid this problem in the future and apologize if you took it the wrong way.  I agree with you that he must restore it things automatically (as it does when you use the hibernation), but maybe that can be done (at least not always) because updates may affect items that are open and to update these programs must be closed (which makes saving them more difficult because if they look different after the update) It may not work if we try to restore them unless they can find a way to save ONLY the information and it is a much more difficult task).  This problem does not occur with an accident or an unexpected shutdown (and a complete restoration in cases does not always work as well and completely that we hope - at least I had problems back exactly where I was with all that every time).

While you can choose to turn off automatic updates, you don't want to not go for very long without updating your system, so checking periodically (although if you want to do on a daily basis - I would try at least every Wednesday at least since most updates are released every Tuesday) is important in all cases.  The option I suggested (i.e. automatic downloads but no facilities) would at least them already downloaded (you would not need to check - that they would be there) it would take much less time to choose and install if you show if off completely - and when you decide to install, you will find it takes MUCH more time because you need to download and install (unless they are already downloaded).  But it is entirely up to you.

    Good luck and best wishes!

  • Update for windows update does not work

Yesterday (24/06/2014), Microsoft has released an update for windows update, which according to them was necessary in order to receive new updates. It is installed without any problem, except that it doesn't work.

I tried the fixit tool, but who finds no errors. To make things worse, it seems that this update of windows installed another version of the update agent is suitable for my system (Windows 7 Home Premium). Windows support for this update site indicates that the correct version is Windows update agent 7.6.7600.256, but windows update version 7.6.7600.320 and you can see the result of the image as to what happens when I try to check the updates.

I prefer not to do a system restore, but how to fix this?

Is this the same issue corrected / posted by LoginBroken on February 23, 2011?

    Dave in pa,

    Do a system restore point.

Open Notepad. Copy the information between the lines, then paste them into Notepad

  • Windows updates do not

I have a problem with the windows updates work don't not since the update of windows 7 to windows 10, not climb in with it and make it back to windows 7 again.

Since the restoration, a month ago, the processor in the Task Manager is consumed by svchost.exe (netsvcs) with service wuauserv being the culprit.

If I stop the wuauserv service cpu returns to normal, but this does not resolve the cause of the problem.

I tried various methods available online, disabling updates, restart the pc and then by choosing new automatic updates. but monitoring network traffic, it seems that windows update is not just do something.

I tried the solution of cmd too stop the services for then reactivate, but windows don't allow BITS to be stopped.

Any ideas what to try next?

    Thank you very much.

  • KB978601 and KB979309 - Windows Update would not download

    Hello

I'm trying to install all of the updates for my Windows 7 (x 64, PL), but both of the subject do not want to download. Windows Update all the time to see the "0 KB 0%. On my second PC, I also have Windows 7 (x 64, EN), but here all the updates (inside these two topic) were downloaded and installed successfully.

Do you have some advice on this?

    eckko,

The 'Ko 0% 0' indicates usually that updates were downloaded already in the system or that they are regulated, and the system is in a Quebec awaiting their download. Because updates are from April of this year, then it must be assumed that it is a new installation or reinstallation of Windows 7.

  • Windows Update does not properly

I am running windows 7 on a hp Q8300 quad core desktop computer processor.  Windows Update (do not remember the official name) has worked well up until now.  2 days ago it downloaded updates and and asked to close at the end of a session, as it is often done without any problem.

Now when you start again it says something like "processing and installation of updates 0% complete, do not turn off your computer.  It was 0%.  Finally, it will start in any case, but updates are not yet installed.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Download and save the Fixit on this page - How to reset the Windows Update components?
Once the download is complete, close all open programs and browsers.
Now Configure the system to boot .
NOTE: If a 3rd party firewall was previously used, open Windows Firewall in Control Panel to make sure that the native Windows 7 firewall is now on.
In the clean boot state, all the firewalls of 3rd party will be disabled. Using the Fixit the system must be connected to the internet.

Now run MicrosoftFixit50202.msi and choose the default mode. Reboot the system to the same State of clean boot and see if he can find, detect and download updates now. If it is possible, then Cancel the Clean boot steps and restart in normal Windows mode.

In normal Windows mode, can the system installs updates now?

If this isn't the case, configure the system to boot once more and run the Fixit by using aggressive mode. Restart when it's done and follow the steps above to see if the system can update now.
