Windows updates is not configured properly

After several formats again, I get a massive list of installed updates.

I have download the list. They install. Then, they cannot be configured.

Download list takes more than an hour and totally makes my phone useless.

I had to stop all updates.

Any suggestions?

    Hi AL0001,

Run the chkdsk command to check that there are no problems with your hard drive. To run the disk check, follow these steps:

    1. Restart your computer and immediately press the F8 key until you reach the menu Advanced Boot Options.
    2. Select Mode safe mode with command prompt.
    3. At the command prompt, type chkdsk/r (there is a space between the k and /)

Meanwhile, check the Dell website to see how you can get a recovery disk in case you need to recover Windows.

  • Windows 8.1 - secure boot is not configured properly

Hello everyone. Since I installed Windows RTM 8.1, I kept making a watermark "secure startup is not configured properly" on my machine. The problem is that the secure startup option is enabled in the BIOS (and cannot be changed).

The problem is that Windows 8 detects that it is not. Any ideas what could be the problem?

It does not affect my work, but the watermark is very annoying.

    Thanks for the info,

  • Windows Update does not properly

I am running windows 7 on a hp Q8300 quad core desktop computer processor.  Windows Update (do not remember the official name) has worked well up until now.  2 days ago it downloaded updates and and asked to close at the end of a session, as it is often done without any problem.

Now when you start again it says something like "processing and installation of updates 0% complete, do not turn off your computer.  It was 0%.  Finally, it will start in any case, but updates are not yet installed.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Download and save the Fixit on this page - How to reset the Windows Update components?
Once the download is complete, close all open programs and browsers.
Now Configure the system to boot .
NOTE: If a 3rd party firewall was previously used, open Windows Firewall in Control Panel to make sure that the native Windows 7 firewall is now on.
In the clean boot state, all the firewalls of 3rd party will be disabled. Using the Fixit the system must be connected to the internet.

Now run MicrosoftFixit50202.msi and choose the default mode. Reboot the system to the same State of clean boot and see if he can find, detect and download updates now. If it is possible, then Cancel the Clean boot steps and restart in normal Windows mode.

In normal Windows mode, can the system installs updates now?

If this isn't the case, configure the system to boot once more and run the Fixit by using aggressive mode. Restart when it's done and follow the steps above to see if the system can update now.

  • Windows 8.1 secure pro Boot is not configured properly

After the upgrade through shop windows to Windows Pro 8.1, I get the watermark:

«windows 8.1 secureBoot pro is not configured properly to build 9600»

I went into the BIOS, tried allowing the secure startup, disabling, restore the factory keys, but nothing has solved the problem.

The command (windows powershell administrator) Confirm-SecureBootUEFI returns false.

    Any ideas?

    Best regards

    Z.

I explain how I solved the problem in my Ideapad y510p.

1 - Press the windows key and the search for "start".

2 - Click on "change advanced startup options."

    3. in the title of "Advanced boot", click "restart now."

    4 - click "troubleshooting."

    5 - Click on 'Advanced Options '.

6 - click on "parameters of UEFI firmware.

At this point, you should see the configuration of the bios/uefi page:

7 - go to 'security' and then 'reset to installation mode.

    8. then, go to 'leave', then 'exit saving changes.

Once back in windows, repeat the steps 1 to 6, then in the bios screen:

-return to 'security' and this time select "restore the keys to the factory.

-Then go to 'leave', then 'exit saving changes.

At the next reboot, the problem should be solved, or at least it worked for me. I exclude not only performing the second part of the operation as described is sufficient to solve the problem.

  • Try to use Windows Update to install 2 updates, get "updates are not configured correctly. Restoration of the changes

Try to use Windows Update to install 2 updates (Windows Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Vista) and an a security update Cumulative for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Vista KB253048. It's on a laptop at home unique stand alone, works with Windows Vista Home Premium SP2.

Windows Update initially reported two updates correctly installed and asks me to restart the PC, what I'm doing. Before the connection at the reboot prompt, I get a message saying "updates are not configured correctly. Restoration of the changes. It is the next messages saying: step 1/2/3 of 3 0% complete.
After I then connect I get the message ' Windows to not install important updates.

Update history reveals the KB253048 cannot install (error 80070005), but IE9 installed successfully. However when click on the IE icon and run Internet Explorer version 8 of Internet Explorer, I get, not version 9.

I tried to do this several times on 2 days, but get same problem.

    This gives a shot.

    Hi Sandra,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?

I understand that you can not install some updates with the error message "failure of configuration of the Windows updates...". ». I can imagine the disadvantages suffered by you and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem.

First place, according to the error message, I suggest you to try the steps in the following article and check if it helps.

"Configuration of the Windows updates failed. Restoration of the changes. Do not turn off your computer"error when you try to install Windows updates

Note: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

The question may arise if the Windows downloaded update packages are corrupt. So, if you are able to boot to the desktop with the help of the above article, I also suggest you try the following steps and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Try to run that Windows update utility provided in the following link.

    Problems with installing updates

Try to install the updates after running the troubleshooter.

If the problem persists, try the following method.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to use Deployment Image Servicing and Management to fix Windows Update errors.

    (a) open an elevated command prompt. To do this, press the Windows key + Q and type in CMD right click on command prompt in the list and select run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

    (b) type the following commands. Press enter after each command

    • DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
    • DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    (c) close the command prompt, and then run Windows Update again.
